These pics posted by the official account made me realise once again how these scenes not only parallel each other, but how their roles are completely reversed. Belly, in the second one, literally becomes Conrad, and Conrad becomes Belly. And Belly chooses those harsh words because she knows they will hurt him the most despite the fact saying them it's killing her inside, exactly like Conrad had done in the motel with her four years before.

And I think the show is very intelligent with how Conrad and Belly basically switches role in season three. In the first two seasons in fact, Belly is the one who is yearning in the most evident way for Conrad (well Conrad is yearning too but it is more hidden lmao), and he often acts like he is the distant one, and in season three Conrad is now the one who explicitely yearns for her and Belly has to put on a cold mask on her real feelings for him. Until they find each other back in Paris, and they are finally on the same lenght. They both fought for each other, for their love, and now they have it and they can finally live it.
