what is that thing

another car opinion is that they shouldn't have touch screens
if you need to do something with your car (ex: adjust the AC) you should be able to do it based off of touch and minimal sight; without knobs and buttons for tactile orientation youre ... staring at an ipad while driving? awesome trend we've started
what the fuck happened
This was peak driver ergonomics. 3 Knobs for HVAC. How hot, How Hard, and where do you want it? RAdio is just below windshield level. Headlight switch is big and easily reached by feel alone. Buttons are large, and each one textured differently. You could operate everything without taking your eyes off the road.
Touch buttons on anything are a plague on humanity. There's no advantage, it's just tech bros fellating themselves. It just makes it way easier to press a button by accident.
itâs not a story the Jedi would tell you. i know all about it though
MADDIE THIS IS SO FUCKING FUNNY WHATâ
i can understand the use of large house for a family but what do those single rich fucks with the goddamn true mansions do with all that space exactly? like let's table all valid criticisms of the spending and constructing of them aside and just focus on what exactly you do with that space
As a real estate photographer I can tell you with a confidence that most of that space is entirely unused. Extra kitchens which have never seen a meal, billiards rooms with untouched felt, an office that no one has ever worked in, a second, or third family room, that no family member has spent any significant amount of time in. I once shot a place with a walk-in closet so large the dude had an 8-person dining room table in the middle of it.. like.. no one is hanging out in your closet homie.. maybe downsize?
this is a fantastic answer, thank you for replying. sadly it confirmed my fears that these people are all insane
Traditionally mansions and manors had a lot of space because they were the lifelong homes of multiple generations of a family (the lord and lady, their unmarried children and heirs, and various widowed aunts and in-laws), dozens of servants, and rooms or even wings set aside for a constantly rotating cast of guests who had travelled days or weeks to visit so of course they were going to stay a while.
Now there's just Hank, Kate, Keighleyee, and their sterile palace.
#obviously the landed gentry had uuuuuh their own problems but at least their nonsense houses were actual homes
The only true modern mansion Iâve been into had an honest to god âwhite roomâ. Nothing in it but white carpet and furniture and decor. It was decked out like a functional fancy living room but it was totally off-limits and existed only to be viewed from the hallway.
#need extra space for the existential horror to nest and breed in
No but I'll see if I can find the study but they've literally done studies on this and how sizes have gone up as family sizes have gone down and it is largely a component of hyper consumerism and "keeping up with the Joneses". Part of this is that our media often biases people to make them think that American society is more affluent than it is. People then use this as their reference group and increase people's perception of the consumption norms which are the level of consumption that people see as necessary for living well. Do they think that that is what they should be able to afford and work for and consume.

Seeing a lot of people not from the uk not understanding who Larry the Cat is and his role in UK politics
Larry the Cat is no. 10âs official mouser. He lives at No. 10 and catches mice. He has held this position for over a decade
When shit is going down and all the news crews are hanging outside no. 10 waiting for something to happen heâs usually also hanging around outside so when thereâs not much visual happening but they donât want to cut away from the outside of No. 10 we all just watch Larry
He is often seen standing by the door waiting to be let in
He is the most competent person at No. 10
