Perhaps one of the hardest things about honesty is not anticipating how the other party will take it, perhaps the many ideas we have created in our minds are the very reasons why we are never to exaggerate our places in people's lives. And I say this in the purest form possible, that we all know a love language can be learnt/taught no one just comes with it fully loaded on to their love bone.
