I'm just a silly girl...
Well, a silly woman.
I found this poor thing while on a walk today. I asked around and inquired if anyone was missing a dog and found that, apparently, he’s a stray people in the area have been feeding.
He followed me home and I didn’t have the heart to turn him away! Unfortunately, Marius and I can’t support ourselves, a cat, and a dog (and Libby also doesn’t like him) so we can’t keep him.
..Does anyone want to take him in? I would feel terrible to put him back out on the street. :((
Poor thing…
@fantine-offical You don’t mind dogs, do you?
I don't mind at all. Such a sweet creature. You plan to take him in?
Perhaps for a few days? I wanted to make sure it’s alright with the rest of you, though. I wouldn’t want to suddenly appear at home with a stray dog.
Oh I'm not bothered by this dog at all. That's really nice of you to give it a shelter.. But you might want to tell Javert about it.

Happy ending for the final day of @fantine-week !! True secret les miserables ending where Fantine and Cosette reunite after the horrors
@fantine-offical 🤍✨
Aw i love you so much, sweetheart.

Hello, Fantine. Do you know much of gardening? I was wondering if you’d care to lend me a hand in the garden. Normally I’d do it myself, but I’m afraid Montparnasse’s attacks haven’t quite healed yet…
@jean-valjean-offical
I'm not very knowledgeable when it comes to the theory of gardening, but i surely do love flowers. It's my pleasure to be helpful to you, dear monsieur. Please be careful, are you feeling okay?
I’m alright. Just not quite healed yet, I’m afraid. I let Montparnasse do quite the number on me, I fear.
I can teach you about growing your own flowers, if you’d like.
Well, there isn't much left to do besides waiting until everything is properly healed. I'm so grateful there were no horrible consequences to your health, considering that you weren't defending yourself from that dandy at all.
You're intriguing me by what you can possibly teach me, so go ahead. I will gladly listen.
Of course. I do wonder what would’ve changed had I fought back…
Anyhow, no matter. It’s too pleasant a day to burden ourselves with unpleasant memories, my dear Fantine. Is there anything in particular you’d like to grow? Oh, and your hands will probably get rather dirty.
You're right, it's a good day... Hmm, I'm thinking about irises or roses. Maybe pansies? Not too plain? And oh don't worry, i know what I'm about to do, dirty hands are definitely not the worst thing in the world.
Of course! It’s the right season for them. They’re such beautiful little flowers. Me and Cosette to grow them together, when we lived in the Rue Petit-Picpus when she was little. Would you like them in a window box for your room, perhaps?
Ah, and, I never asked but…how are your teeth doing?
Oh that's really sweet. But isn't this the street where the convent is located?
Yes, a window box is a wonderful idea!
My teeth?.. I don't know what to tell you. They're gone and that's it. At this point I'm used to the feeling.
I suppose that’s some relief. I was worried they still hurt or so, as I found something that I think is good for pain relief and I was wondering if you’d want any.
This? No, we moved away about…5 years ago? Cosette was twelve, nearly thirteen, I believe. You can ask her about it. I think she liked it there. I did too.
Don't worry, I'm fine now. But knowing about other ways to treat pain is good, so please tell me what have you found. So i could know just in case
Mmm, that's interesting. I'll definitely talk to her

...Oh hey, young man. My apologies, but could you help me and carry my basket home?
@fantine-offical
Marius turned towards the voice, slightly confused. He’d previously been in his own world, day-dreaming.
" Hm?. Oh! Of course, ma’am! "
He took the basket, a smile on his face.
" Do you live close? I- It doesn’t matter whether you do! I just wish to know how long I may be gone as I was on my way home. "
Thank you very much, kind gentleman.. ugh, my hands were already starting to fail me.
Yes, my house is not so far away. Don't worry, it shouldn't take long to get there. It's on rue Plumet 55.
" Rue Plumet? "
There’s a glisten of recognition in his eyes as he heard the address. This had been where he met Cosette.. He simply nods and smiles.
" Let’s- uh- start heading over then! Lead the way, Madame! "
He lowers his head slightly, a million thoughts racing through his head..
Of course, let's not waste anymore time.
...
The weather is wonderful today. I should suggest to my daughter that she take a walk in the park, it’s not good to sit at home all the time without fresh air... Ah, i shouldn't blabber to strangers.
I don’t mind at all! While I do enjoy the silence with what it offers, conversations are quite enlightening! Oh and- uh- Let me introduce myself. I’m Marius, Marius Pontmercy.
He chuckled, smiling.
Am I still a stranger you shouldn’t ramble to now?
Pleasure to meet you, young man. You truly never know when you'll meet someone new, haha. It's only fair for you to know my name- I'm Fantine.
" A pleasure to meet you too! I fear I’m not one to socialize much, so this is a more.. well- favorable interaction. But- er- Madame, back on what you were saying! The weather is very nice.. I’ve found myself strolling in local park or gardens to admire the scenery. Almost as a pause on life and its chaos.. "
Marius chuckles before falling silent. He’s deciding whether to ask the question that had been weighing on his conscious. With Rue Plumet being mentioned and Fantine having a daughter, he couldn’t help but connect the dots.
" Does your daughter happened to be named Cosette?.. Sorry! Sorry if it seems encroaching! I- I’m just wondering.. "
Well, i can understand your point. Not everyone can be a social butterfly and there's nothing wrong with it. Personally, most of my family prefers to keep everything to themselves so it's fine.
*pauses*
She might have that name, yes. But i dare to ask- what's it to you, young man?
Marius is caught off guard at Fantine turning the question at him. He knew it’d been odd to ask, but he felt as if he were now under interrogation.
" I- er- Well- I had the honor of speaking to her the other day! Um- Nothing inappropriate, I swear! I’ve just seen her in the Gardens on multiple occasions and thought I should finally speak to her.. "
He fiddled with the basket handle as continued to speak.
" It’s just.. I’d recognized the address when I asked you earlier and uh- her and I had spoken in the garden.. Which I do want to say is- um- very very pretty and well kept.. "
Oh, so you know her that way! This certainly changes things. I agree, the garden is wonderful, her father did a really good job.
But are you, by any chance, familiar with the name Thenardier?
Marius stumbles as he hears the name Thenardier. His timid expression changing to slight panic.
" I.. er- Yes. Unfortunately.. I can’t say I’ve had the most pleasant experiences with him. "
He lowered his head, thinking about the gravity of that name. While it was apparent to him that Thenardier was a ruthless criminal, he still couldn’t deny the fact that said criminal had saved his father..
Well, that makes two of us. At least... I know it can be weird to hear from a complete stranger, but i beg you to stay away from that man. Wasting a young life this way is such a horrible thing.
" I have no plans to be near him again, so it isn’t strange to hear.. "
Marius shuddered once more at the thought of Thenardier before deciding it’d be better to switch topics.
" Uhm.. His children though are relatively kind.. Especially ‘Ponine, she’s a good friend of mine!! Have you heard of her? I can- er- assume that Cosette has spoken of her at least once. "
I'm glad to hear that.
Oh, our girl Eponine... She has a heart of gold, that's for sure. She spent quite a lot of time with us actually. In particular with Cosette, of course.
Well that’s nice!! Admittedly, I haven’t seen her much because of other ordeals, but I have to say she’s helped me a lot..
Marius fiddled with the basket.
It’s- er- a shame to know where she may be now though.. Since last I heard she was arrested,,
She surely is something. Ep can be really helpful and unhelpful at the same time, but her dedication is remarkable. She was framed. We'll figure something out about that, eventually, i hope.
Busy man you are? You look peculiar, i must notice. Do you perhaps have an eccentric job?
" Hopefully.. "
Marius fell silent, unable of what to say next.. Well up until the point Fantine had called him peculiar.
" Peculiar? I!- No! ..But busy? Er- Definitely.. I work as nothing eccentric either. I’m currently employed under a publisher where I translate and annotate documents. And I’m actively in law school and hoping to begin as a lawyer in the near future.. But- er- my friends aren’t particularly liked by the law.. so that leads to interesting evenings,, Not criminals though! They’re law abiding, but challenge it to.. a degree.. "
Ah, a lawyer! Truly a noble job if the person is goodhearted.
I don't think i have a right to judge your friends, since i managed to see for myself how flawed the law can be. Ridiculous even.
" I agree.. It’s unfortunate to say that many people in the field of law aren’t the most.. well-intent.. But that’s what makes the idea of finishing law school so much more fulfilling!! "
Marius shifted the basket in his hands, making for a more comfortable hold.
" ..Uhm, pardon me for asking, but do we happen to be close to Rue Plumet? My friend Courf had asked me to feed our cat today as he’d be running home late.. "
He smiled, hoping it wasn’t as if he was rushing their stroll.
Well, i wish you a successful studying then.
Oh yes, I believe we made it. Gosh i got so distracted with all this talking.
*takes the basket in her hand*
And..if you want you can pay us a visit sometime. I don't think anyone will mind.
Marius smiled softly, appreciating the last bit.
" Thank you, madame. It was- er- very pleasant being able to speak to this evening. Perhaps we could take a stroll in the park together another time. After all, it’s evident we both enjoy walking and talking!! "
He chuckled.
" You’ll see me around soon.. After all I promised Cosette to swing by. Erm- Anyways- Goodbye, madame! Again, I enjoyed our talk! "
Marius then hurried off, panicked on whether their cat were starving and lonely.
Bye-bye, Marius. Thank you for helping me.
*she waves her hand slightly and disappears through the gate*

It’s- er- a shame to know where she may be now though.. Since last I heard she was arrested,,
She surely is something. Ep can be really helpful and unhelpful at the same time, but her dedication is remarkable. She was framed. We'll figure something out about that, eventually, i hope.
Busy man you are? You look peculiar, i must notice. Do you perhaps have an eccentric job?
Hello, Fantine. Do you know much of gardening? I was wondering if you’d care to lend me a hand in the garden. Normally I’d do it myself, but I’m afraid Montparnasse’s attacks haven’t quite healed yet…
@jean-valjean-offical

Ooc: I didn't plan to have the same MBTI type as Fantine, but apparently it's true. Big freaking coincidence, once again.
It's ISFP, if you're interested.
ooc;
What is Javert’s?
It says that it's ISTJ

...Oh hey, young man. My apologies, but could you help me and carry my basket home?
@fantine-offical
In particular with Cosette, of course.
who tops
I don’t know what you mean.
To the lovely anon,
I do
Good for you.
