Different Ways Culture Can Be Looked At
A new born baby has just come to life, and has no knowledge, of course, and no experience. The baby will take steps to learning the basics of the world through the arms of his or her family. The baby’s family will raise the child based on their own values, ethics, norms, or beliefs. The baby will soon grow to having a perception of his or her life, viewing a paradigm based on the teachings from his or her parents. As soon as the baby grows into a child and enters school, the child will encounter other children. The child will probably think why others dress differently, have special meals at home, listen to unlike music, and behave in another way. The child will then understand the meaning of the word culture, and that each and every group of family on this planet has a culture that they pertain to.
So culture is a set of values, beliefs, norms, ethics, or different patterns of cultivated habits. The term culture came from the Latin word “cultura” along with the French word “colere”. It is not only a group of people who have a certain culture, but also different kinds of meanings that the civilization offers.  Culture can be viewed in different ways:
1)     “Behavior Patterns”: The different kinds of behavior patterns that can be found in each group. Egyptians have anger issues, Germans are strict, etc.
2)    “Socially Acquired”: After we inherent the behavior patterns, it is based on the family we come from either from religion or the geographic location.
3)    “Distinctive Achievements of Human Groups”: It is the group that we belong to that makes us part of it. We become acculturated.
4)    “Artifacts in which Cultural Achievements are Embodied”: The types of clothes a culture tends to wear, food that is consumed, language use, etc.
5)Â Â Â Â Affections of Culture: Culture impacts our behavior, but not for everything that we do. It is the way we see things in life or on the media that we perceive to be proper or improper.
For example, Egyptian women like to dress “properly mannered” and (according to their views by) not showing any skin, where as for Greeks like to wear “skirts or shorts” and will consider it as “properly mannered”. Egyptians like to eat foul, falafel, and meat, while Greeks enjoy consuming fish. Egyptians might have bad anger management issues at times while Greeks are always looking for ways to smile.
Now, civilization is what results from the culture economically. Since Egyptians like to consume foul and falafel, civilians of Egypt will offer more foul and falafel. In America, there aren’t many restaurants who offer this kind of food because Americans prefer eating pizzas and burgers. Egyptian women like to cover up their skin leading to more shops offering “culture-related” clothes. But will America only sell products of “Egyptian culture-related” clothes? I think not. America’s shops will sell the kinds of clothes that its people pertain to culturally.  Music can be based on the kinds of culture. Egyptians have their own genre of interest, while America offers different genres. Even movies and TV shows that air in the media can be differentiated from one culture to another.
Culture is passed on from one’s family. Each person in this world sees life through his or her own eyes, viewing the world through his or her beliefs and values. Without culture and civilization, there will not be any aesthetics or differentiation between each individual.
