I've been wanting to do this for a while so here it is, kao's influence map meme. \o/ 1. CLAMP I'm pretty sure at 90% of you have been influenced by CLAMP's works at some point. lol My first encounter with their works was through CCS, but it was Tsubasa RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE that truly influenced my art. It was serialized (and then animated) during my early weeb days, and being an noob artist at that time I tried to imitate the art style as close as possible. lol 2. Arima --> www.pixiv.net/member.php?id=53… I HAVE NO IDEA WHY I LOVE HER ART SO MUCH OK orz ESPECIALLY THE WAY SHE DREW EYES. SO SIMPLE BUT PRETTY I CAN LOOK AT THEM FOREVER. 3. Hohehohe / Nasyou --> twitter.com/NASYOU777 I love how dynamic and colorful her arts are. I HATE HOW SHE DELETES EVERYTHING EVERY NOW AND THEN THO. I STILL HAVEN'T SAVED MOST OF HER WORKS I CAN ONLY CRY OVER HERE REGRETTING EVERYTHING. orz I don't know how much is visible, but the way I draw abs and legs is mostly influenced by her. 4. Sayuki --> twitter.com/ggsayuki I don't know how many of you know about them, but they're the mangaka of Double Gauge, Mikagura School Suite, Gekka no Hazure Gedou, and soon, Nirvana. I love how dynamic their drawings are. The action scenes are superb. SUPERB. Perspective, expressions, movement, EVERYTHING. Specifically, it was chp 4 of Mikagura that instantly made me a fan of Sayuki. I could only stare at those couple of pages in awe. lol Go check those titles, they're totally worth your time!!! \o/ (Here's some samples if you're interested --> sta.sh/211hrw2lu0ob?edit=1) 5. Akamatsu Ken Who doesn't know Negima? \o/ That typical ecchi manga turned awesome, shounen fantasy battle manga? \o/ I'm a big fan of Negima and I'm really glad now it got a sequel (UQ HOLDER!). \o/ I read Negima during high school and I love it so much, from the story, interesting characters (ranging from cute but badass middle school girls and deadly shota, to badass ossan and deadly monsters), art (SUPER DETAILED BG!!)-- basically everything. \o/ I drew lots of Negima fanart back then, Akamatsu's style was one of the earliest ones that influenced my art and I think it's still visible? What do you think? lol 6. Ebimo --> www.pixiv.net/member.php?id=31… SUPER DYNAMIC ART WITH SUPER INTERESTING POSES AND PERSPECTIVE. Go check their pixiv, lots of tutorials for poses and perspective if you need some! 7. Yasuda Suzuhito (Suzupin) --> twitter.com/suzupin Mangaka of Yozakura Quartet, illustrator of Durarara!, Danmachi, and Kamisama Kazoku, and character designer of Devil Survivor series. I fell in love instantly when I watched Kamisama Kazoku back then, I can't even remember the reasons. Either way, also one of the earliest artists that influenced my art. 8. Chagama --> www.pixiv.net/member.php?id=11… I love how she colored her art! I was so amazed by her color choices that I started changing my coloring style. Previously I used to used to use blending mode to shade everything, thanks to her art I started picking my colors one by one. :3 9. Paseri --> parsley-f.tumblr.com/ BOOBS. BOOBS. BO O B S.
