Every year is different. This year is no exception. The crazy Colorado weather makes gardening like going to Vegas; always a gamble.

Busy Spring Planting

As always in Colorado, we have unpredictable weather. Last week we got about 6″ of snow and some cold weather. It did some damage to the new plants coming up from seed. Fortunately the tomatoes and peppers had not been put in the ground before the snow.

Ollas and Irrigation

Last year I started a project to replace my drip irrigation system with ollas. It took than expected and was getting in the way of planting the garden and everything else I had to do. I shelved the ollas, temporarily, except for some pots where I was growing beans. That worked out really well. So this year I’m trying again but most likely in just half the garden.
