"Heeeeey!"
*Farron grinned and gave a long-delayed wave to Georgie*
Another night saw Georgie behind the bar, per usual when the familiar face graced the dimly lit bar. It had been an otherwise slow night, but at least she knew man about to sit across from her could hold his whiskey, which was more than could be said for the half dozen patrons who slouched in their booths.
âMIstah Thornbeck! Why ya âbout as pretty as they be comin. Walkin ya fine âself inta mâbar. Ya best be âavin an âscuse as tâleavinâ me âere all by mâlonesome witâout a juicy secret!â
With her hands on her hips, Georgie peered over the bar with a skeptical look on her, though just beneath the surface there was ALWAYS a grin just ready to breathe life into those dimples of hers. Two glasses were pulled from a shelf and a finger of whiskey poured into each, as that had been their previous arrangement. Nodding to the barstool across from her, he clearly wasnât getting out of there without at least a few details as to his whereabouts. However, he could be certain that the whiskey would be fine and the company more so.
âCome on, Georgie,â the rogue offered coyly, sinking onto the barstool with a grin. He gestured with both hands to his own visage . âDoes this look like the face of a man whoâd make excuses?â
At the pouring of their shared favorite he smiled more easily and sighed, an almost relieved sound ushered forth. The man leaned into the wood and took a long look over her, then picked up the glass with deft fingers to clink against hers in a toast.
âBless your heart. As for where I was? Well⊠there IS a story there. And as bland as it might sound, I had a nasty bit of business to clear up in Westfall. A little favor I owed that turned into more than I bargained for. Iâll tell you all about it, unless the lady is a little too busy at the moment?â
Georgie offered a VERY skeptical look at Farron, then burst out into a fit of laughter that breathed life into those dimples of hers. The smile set light and mirth to her eyes as a hand slapped against the scared wood surface of the bar.
âMistah Thornbeck, I âmagine ya be havinâ a whole trunk full oâexcuses ya be carryinâ roundâ like thâcrown jewels! But I do so like that âbout yaâŠneveâ know what gunna be cominâ outta that moutâ oâyers!â Tipping back the drink, the contents were drained with a grin. Refilling it again with two, she then added another to Farronâs glass. She returned to their original deal of secret sharing with an impish smile. âI got time fer ya story⊠if ya be lettinâ me feed ya as well. Somethinâ be telling me that ya need a good meal on top oâthat whiskey⊠anâ that this story gunna be wortâ it all.â As if to prove her point, Georgie reached under the bar and pulled a second bottle of the unmarked whiskey and set it on top. The devious little way she leaned over the bar and fixed her hazel eyes on Farrons spoke to just how intent she was on hearing this grand tale of his.
âI got all night Mistah Thornbeck⊠anâa whole lotta whiskey.â
âI canât very well say no to that offer,â Farron mused with a grin, a grateful gleam in his eyes at the ever present command of liquor that Georgie commanded. âI mean a manâs gotta eat, right? Iâll take about anything but if you have any stew that wonât kill me Iâm game. Especially after this nonsense.âÂ
In order to get to the unmarked bottle of golden spirits heâd have to make sure the first finger was finished, and so the blue-eyed rogue worked in slow, occassional sips. With the attention of the tendress now his he made himself comfortable, regarding her with a relaxed smile.
âSee, I might not have a perfect streak going but I do believe in keeping my part of a bargain. Years ago I got a bit of help getting started in the ah... darker... trades by a man out of Westfall, an old acquaintence. I guess you could say he pointed me in the ârightâ direction of wrong. Joseph Brannigan, or as he seemed to enjoying being called - Sticky Joe.â
Farron chuckled the moment the coined name was uttered, already seeing her dark brows rise.
âWhy did they call him Sticky? Before you get any naughty ideas, Iâll get to that! ...but before I do, whatâs on the menu, oh dimpled one?âÂ
Mother Mavis
When Eldleas had suddenly shot out of bed in the middle of the night with ears perked like a rabbit listening for a predator, Elias simply laid disoriented for a moment, leaning up upon his elbows and murmuring to her in the Darnassian he had perfected during their time living in Darkshore, âWhat is it, my love?â
Her sunfire hues settle upon him, then to the door, before she gracefully lifts herself out of bed and hushes, âI can sense her stress. I think it is time.â
He watches her in awe for a moment before following her out of the bedroom, and true enough, the expectant mother was laying on the hardwood floors of the kitchen breathing heavily. Unlike herself, Mavis didnât lift her head when her master approached, but wagged her tail even despite her distress.Â
Eldleas and Elias worked together wordlessly, picking up on what the other needed of them simply by knowing. The druidess crouched next to Mavisâs head and soothed her with the gentle touch of her powers and voice as Elias headed off to collect a towel to tuck beneath her. He was already well aware of the birthing process and had helped along countless colts from their mothers before, allowing him to remain calm as he delivered puppy after puppy, with Eldleasâs help to ensure there were no complications.Â
Some things could not be prevented, however.
As Elias settled the last puppy next to Mavisâs stomach â a total of five! â Eldleas suddenly blinked and felt around her midsection again, murmuring, âThere is another, EliasâŠâ
The last delivery took longer than the others combined, leaving Elias worried the pup was stuck in the birthing canal and wasnât getting enough oxygenâŠTrue to his fears, the pup didnât move or cry when the duo finally worked him out. They waited with baited breath as Elias used to the towel to rub the pup against his warm chest, and after moments of silent tension that felt like years, it finally let out the softest of mewls; followed instantly by Eldleas and Eliasâs sighs of relief.Â
To no oneâs surprise, that pup was the sickly runt, and received special attention from the huntsman over the course of the following weeks. Elias thought that pup in particular might be the one they kept rather than give away, though as time revealed each pupâs individual personality to him, he got a different idea. One that he hoped would put any strife lingering in his heart to rest.
Once they came of age to part from Mavis, and a little longer to allow her to teach them necessary skills, the day came to choose. Elias instantly knew the pups he was going to give to Scassira and Garren based upon what they had already told him; for Garren, the one who looked most like her mother, and for Scassira, the biggest, feistiest out of the litter. And for Lycan, a man he had once sworn to hatred, who heâd once blamed for the rift between himself and Teren and two pairs of broken hearts?
None other than the well cared for runt. Heâd seen the way the man lavished over Mavis in private. And, as much as Elias didnât care to admit it, if anyone could raise the pup with special care, it was him. He put any ill will heâd harbored into the gift and sent it off.
Elias personally delivered them to the mansion to ensure their safety over the course of the trip, along with a letter to Teren half apologizing for flooding his home with beasts, and explaining his choices as well. That left three pups left, and with one already haven taken quite quickly to Eldleas and vice versa â which she admitted with a bashful, acknowledging press of her ears against her head â two were left. And Elias had plans for both, none other than to one day safeguard his closest friends.
Rodanthe was first. The pup heâd selected for her was a female, lithe like her mother, and host to an explorative nature that led him connecting the dots between the two of them on the spot. She was the one heâd already snatched up trying to escape the house down the beach alone on several different occasions, deftly hunting sand fleas and crabs.
The one heâd chosen for Amasheri was a sleek, black, stocky male he was left to assume took after his father. Elias could tell early on his nature was calm and well disciplined. He would be easily trainable, and a stalwart defender once he was.
Taking both pups with him, as well as Mavis, Elias hoped to his lucky stars that Rodanthe still resided where they last met in Westfall, before beginning the trek to deliver her new companion to her. With Mavisâs blessing, of course.

So insecure that it paralyzes me when I try to write solo.

âEr.. Whatâs âyer name again, boy?â
âFarron,â the adventurer replied with the kind of smirk only the boldest of rogues could muster. âThe nameâs Farron Thornbeck.â
Sometimes the Mun isn't up to writing a certain plot due to real life events. Reblog to show your partners that they should prioritise real life over role play.
Role play is something you can come back to any time, life does not run by those rules. Focus on yourself first and make sure you are in a safe and happy position to come back to.
RL first always! So very blessed to have RP partners who have been patient with me and my own RL issues. The past two months have been some of the hardest Iâve been through and theyâve all been beyond supportive.
Reblogging because I 100 percent agree. But to add...
Communicate. Be open and honest. Donât disappear. Donât leave your partners and friends in the dark to guess, or worst case have to assume, what is going on. Donât do that. There can be privacy. There can be respect. You donât have to reveal everything, but youâd be amazed what a tiny bit of communication can solve.
Good Tales, Not Whiskey Rails
Continued from HERE..
âSounds plenty worthy to me, Georgie. Of course,â Farron chuckled and leaned comfortably on the stool as they glasses clinked and they worked on the fine liquor they shared. âIâm probably not qualified to judge. Though Iâve no doubt that was an unspeakable thing you went through it sounds like karma literally bit him in the ass in the end.â The rogue licked his lips with a hum.Â
âI think every woman has claws and teeth deep down. A curse, or whatever, might make them literal but they were always there. A manâs lucky if he never glimpses them. And then sometimes... you just end up finding out, donât you? You do what you can, and you do what you have to. Thatâs how we scratch out a place in this crazy world of ours.â
Silence hung in the air for a long moment between them, sounds of glasses clinking and conversations resounding from the corners of the tavern as they drank and mused. Finally Farron realized sheâd fulfilled her end of the bargain; a story offered regardless of how the otherâs measured against it. He leaned slightly her way and rang his free pointed finger around the rim of the glass.
âSince you asked? I came from the womb without breathing. Some term for it, but my lungs werenât moving when I was born - nor was I. My first death for all intents and purposes. My parents told me it was the longest minute of their lives, thinking I was gone, but the midwife knew something of it and got me to breath and cry. The second time was when I was young and playing near a river. Thought I could make the jump, but the current sure showed me. I went under and again.. no breathing when I was hauled up by my best friend. She managed to revive me after a few minutes, right before she threatened to kill me for it. Needless to say we didnât tell my folks about it. And the third...â
Farron trailed off, meeting her gaze with a slow grin. âMaybe that better wait until we decide when youâre going to cork that bottle again, eh dimples?â
