Why do designers like making their shoes difficult to walk in?

here’s some reasons:

1. art shouldn’t be easy, it should be a struggle, it should require work (conversely, the more accessible my work is, the more ordinary it is), glamour and comfort are not friends, etc. 2. it sets up the work to be seen as something that is a challenge, therefore it conveys status 3. the models end up competing with each other to see who can do the best with your stuff / do the best for you. if you’re a hard show to do, then successfully doing your show becomes a ‘badge of honor’ 4. sadism - the industry is full of it. It’s fun to see ‘em struggle.

Not saying I agree with these, just telling you what the reasons are.
