Hey everyone! This is my first ever Sweet Pea fic, and first original post on this blog! I’m hoping you all dig it xx

Growing up on the south side meant a lot of things. It meant being resourceful, sticking up for yourself when nobody was there to have your back, surviving against all odds. When the world tried to kick you in the gut over and over, it meant standing up tall and spitting in its eye. The south side of Riverdale forced you to find your friends early, and it forced you to find your family even earlier– your real family, not the one you might live with. Not the one you might be related to by blood or by law. On the south side, the law doesn’t exist, unless it’s serpent code, and serpent code dictates that your gang is all you need.

Dream

Prompt: Can you write a fic where Reader finds out Yondu is in love with them on accident by either sleep talking or however you want to do it. You can put smut sex etc in it and whatever else you want. Lol

boy can i (i might do a part 2??) 

It was a normal night aboard the ship. Things were pretty quiet after the Ravagers had drunk themselves to sleep, and the silence was a welcome change. The only thing you had to worry about now was tripping over them as you crept around on your way to the bathroom. 

The ship was always freezing at night. When everyone was asleep and things were powered down as low as they could go in order to save fuel, there was just enough heat onboard to stay semi-comfortable while completely wrapped up in a few pairs of socks and some extra layers underneath your usual uniform. You didn’t really mind, though; you had known that coming aboard wasn’t going to be a walk in the park. A little frostnip on your nose was a small price to pay for the promise of adventure. 

You had joined up when you saw Yondu’s crew at a scrapyard on your home planet, and after a little begging and a promise that you could be useful, the centaurian eventually agreed to let you onboard. He made sure you understood that if you turned out to be useless he would toss you out the airlock, but that had been almost an entire solar cycle ago now, and you were pretty confident that nobody was tossing you out anytime soon. 

That was good, in more ways than one; you got to stay alive, and you got to see the captain every day. 

You didn’t know exactly when you had started considering Yondu Udonta, feared Ravager captain, to be handsome. Maybe it had been sometime after you had settled in, or maybe it had been the first time you laid eyes on him, but no matter what, you couldn’t get rid of the fluttering in your gut every time you laid eyes on him. He was tough, covered in scars, with jagged teeth and muscles to prove how strong he was, and he liked to shout--a LOT--but you couldn’t imagine him any other way. 

The attraction wasn’t mutual, though, you thought sadly as you traipsed through the halls. He had never shown any signs of caring about you as anything other than a slightly-better-than-useless crew member, and barely paid you any mind unless he absolutely had to. It hurt--you were pining for him, and he seemed less than interested--but you supposed this way was better than him hating you. 

You finished up your bathroom trip, grimacing at the feeling of cold metal and cold water in the sink as you washed up, and as you were on your way back, you chose a different route. it was nice to walk around when everyone was asleep, and moving was warming you up slightly. Besides, you were pretty awake now, and there wasn’t much point in trying to sleep when you knew you wouldn’t be able to. 

As you rounded a corner, however, you realized that the way you had chosen was going to take you right past the captain’s quarters, and you felt that familiar flutter starting up in your stomach. With a deep breath, you reminded yourself not to be stupid, to just keep walking, to definitely not stop when you noticed his door was open, and to definitely not pay attention to how he was mumbling in his sleep--

Oops. 

You did all of those things. 

You stood in his doorway, peeking in, reminding yourself that you were only watching him because you had heard his voice and you were just checking to make sure he was okay...until you heard him mumble your name, and you felt the blood rush to your face. 

He mumbled it again, rolling onto his back and then letting out a deep moan that was almost a purr. No way. There was no way he was dreaming about--

He said it again, and you had to put a hand over your mouth to keep yourself from making any sounds and waking him up. What were you supposed to do? You couldn’t bring it up. He would be furious if he found out you were lurking outside his room like that. But...did that mean he liked you? If he was actually dreaming about you, did that mean...?

A grunt raised you from your feverish thoughts and you focused on the dark room again just in time to see Yondu’s eyes snap open. 

Oh, fuck. 

You stumbled back, your footstep echoing down the hall and startling both you and Yondu as he immediately sat up. 

“Who in the hell--”

“I’m sorry!” you said quickly, like an idiot, like someone who just wanted to be caught and punished...actually, maybe that wouldn’t be too bad of an idea...

“Get in here!” Yondu barked. 

Oh, shit. Nevermind the kinky fantasies you had hoped for just a second ago. He was going to kill you. 

“The hell you doin’ outside my room?” he asked roughly as you slipped inside. 

“I-I was just passing by, and I heard--”

“Heard what?” he snarled, standing before you now. 

You swallowed hard. Your face was burning red with embarrassment, your hands shaky as you worked your fingers together nervously behind your back. “M-my name--”

He grinned suddenly, a little wolfishly, down at you. “Didja now?”

You blinked. He was...not going to kill you?

He was relaxed, the tension in his muscles fading as he suddenly reached out towards you. You held your breath as calloused fingers met your cheek in a soft caress, softer than you thought he was capable of. 

“Y-yes,” you breathed, staring at those ruby eyes. 

He chuckled. “Know why?”

“No,” you lied in a whisper. 

“I know y’ain’t that stupid,” he grinned, reaching for your hand. You let him take it--how could you not? This was everything you’d ever wanted--and the next thing you knew, your fingers were splayed out over his bare abs, dangerously low. 

Part of you was terrified, but mostly, you were focused on the centaurian in front of you. 

You couldn’t stop the little smile that crept up on your lips. It was all like a good dream as he pressed closer to you, his body heat warming you up as he lowered his lips to your ear. 

“I got a little problem that needs helpin’, darlin’,” he purred, a hand cradling the side of your face while the other moved to pull you up against him. “An’ it has to do with you.”

You could only nod, that smile widening as he pulled you back toward his bed.

Sorry I've been quiet again guys. Work is super fun and I love it, I've just been busy! I was going to try to do some stuff this weekend but just had a super scary experience that I think aged me like five years (literally watched an unsupervised 2 year old girl get hit by a car in a hit and run maybe 20 feet away from me) so I'm pretty shaken up and idk Talk to me tho I need to get back in the gotg spirit

Thank you guys for all the tips on my last post! I ended up going in for antibiotics because it hurt so bad always and I just want it GONE (and it turned out it was worse than I thought RIP) but since I'm kind of prone to these I'll keep everything in mind! Also on the subject of my new job it turns out we supplied the materials for all the Ravager jackets lol

sorry i’ve been so quiet again T-T i’ve been feeling kind of blah for the past several days, just life and stuff, but the good news is i got a new job! it’s technically not official until the drug screening goes through, but i’m sure that i passed it, so i’m really excited to finally be able to work again, and at a place i really love!
