Welcome to the Mansion: A Fata Morgana zine is a charity zine dedicated to celebrating The House in Fata Morgana franchise and the impact it’s left on its readers. Our project features 51 content creators and includes artwork, writing, cosplay, and original music! Pre-orders will remain open from November 5th to November 19th.

Will we be able to buy the physical or digital editions after preorders close?
You’ll be able to purchase the digital edition even after the pre order date! Please bear in mind that they will be unavailable past a certain date due to this being charity zine.
As for the physical, that would depend on how many copies remain. If there’s a demand for them after the pre order period has ended, another batch will be ordered accordingly.

We wanted to announce that Welcome to the Mansion: A nonprofit Fata Morgana zine will be open for pre-orders from 11/5 to 11/19! This zine will be featuring the contributions of over 30 artists, 14 writers, 4 cosplayers, and our own musician!

Hi there! I was just wondering if rejected applicants will receive any kind of communication?
Hello! Yes, every applicant will receive a response! Due to the amount of applications we received, we have moved the date of responses back to July 3rd. This was an update we shared on twitter but not on tumblr, so we apologize if there was any confusion!
Will contributors get something of the zine?
Yes! Contributors will receive a free copy of the physical edition of the zine, as well as a download of the digital.

Hi, quick question for the application process. For submitting writing do we have to link to writing that's Fata Morgana related or just any type of writing?
Hi! Your writing does not need to be related to Fata Morgana – you can submit any kind of content you’d like! We only ask that the genre of writing match what you intend to submit to the zine. That is, if you’d like to submit poetry to the zine, we ask that your examples be of poetry, and so on and so forth.

By "full body visuals" for art, do you mean all application examples must show at least one person from head to toe, or is it just a metaphor for a finished and polished piece?
Hello!
Finished and polished pieces are generally what we’re looking for, yes! We specified full body visuals as the zine submissions will need to be in 300dpi and adhere to A4′s dimensions, and we’d like to see if potential contributors can use the canvas space they’re given. But any pieces you have that are of higher definition are perfectly acceptable! We apologize for the confusion.

Hi! This is my first time wanting to submit cosplay to a zone and I’m a bit confused by the example requirements for cosplay. I recently did a photoshoot for my fatamoru cosplay, but it was at a con I was new to and with a photographer I haven’t done shoots with before. I’m a little unsure what I’m supposed to send in. Should I send in photos of me in other cosplays taken by other photographers, my WIP and more casual photos of my fatamoru cosplay, other photos from the shoot, or something else?
Hello! Your application samples should give us an idea of the quality of work you would submit to the zine. I would suggest sending in photos of finished cosplays; they don’t need to have been professionally taken, as long as they are of high resolution. Professional photos would be a treat to see, as we’ll require your submission for the zine itself to be a specific resolution, but they aren’t necessary Detail shots of your cosplay are also acceptable. Whether your samples are of your Fatamoru cosplay or not is up to you, we’d just like to see the work you are most proud of!

Questions! Can you apply for several categories? Are the applications restricted to Fata Morgana related samples?
Hello! Yes, you may apply for multiple categories! There will be a section in the application that will allow for this. However, because of the limited amount of participant slots, we would only be able to accept you for one of those categories.
The application samples do not have to be related to Fata Morgana!
