Fleshing out the term: ‘Fatsexual’ By Enplumpen on March 20th, 2016
Over the past few years, I discovered that I’m Asexual or more specifically Demisexual. Asexual meaning to lack the requirement for sex and the physical side of relationships. With myself being Demisexual, this is similar, but can extend into what Asexuality strays away from, but only when with a partner they have developed a deep trust and affection for. I don’t have sex often and tend to avoid it because it doesn’t turn my gears like it does for other people.
One thing I have noticed over the past year is how I do tend to get turned on by and even lust for Feedism activities. For me it’s more so the weight gain, eating and platonic Feedist friendships that really work for me. This is not to say I start getting off when I eat a donut, more so that I get a rush or a thrill out of it that makes me want to do more of it.
Leading onto this, a recent term that’s popped up quite recently is the term “Fatsexual”. At this point, it’s very much a loose term for someone who derives sexual pleasure or attraction to different aspects of fatness. To further expand upon this one could say it covers the following:
A person who is only attracted to Fat People.
A person who finds pleasure in weight gain in themselves or others.
A person who finds pleasure in the shape, feel, weight and other attributes of fat people and their fatness.
A person who is fat and enjoys the physicality of being fat.
A person who finds pleasure in being around other Fatsexuals and any effects it may have on their own appetite and size.
Labeling myself a Fatsexual is not something I’ve started to own yet, mostly because it’s yet to take up ground within the community. More so, with a community full of unique and different terms, I don’t want to come across as someone making up terms to devalue those more defined ones. However, in the mindset of thinking of this term becoming a future part of the Feedist vernacular, I’d like to brainstorm a bit and potentially get some discussion happening.
So that being said, how would one define a Fatsexual relationship? This could be any of a combination of the above. For example, A girl dating another girl, one is enthralled by food and the feeling of fullness and the other is excited by seeing her partner gain weight and ensuring she is always surrounded by food. While this couple is either Lesbian or Bisexual, would it fit more as Fatromantic - Similar to Heteroromantic or Homoromantic? This only leads us to more questions on the term.
If this were to expand further to a matrix or spectrum, what other terms would there be to cover Sexuality or Romance? Would this extend into Feedist-fluidity for people who come and go between feeder and feedee or just fat? This is such a large topic, I don’t think I could solve it myself. However, I’m excited to see where the term goes and how it’s expanded upon.

This is quite fatscinating. I’ve come to the realization that full-out gainers are both masters and slaves to themselves. They want to be fatter and force themselves to become fatter – the “master” part – even if there are obstacles like health issues or personal obstacles like self-confidence or fear of rejection or reprisals by people who believe they’re merely exercising well-intentioned concern for the gainer’s health or even because there’s no room for the fetish in their more intimate relationships.
Of course, you can divide up those responsibilities between two or more people as encouragers/feeders and gainers/feeders. But that’s not the same as being a total gainer and one reason why some guys find it difficult to gain on their own.
Total gainers (for want of a better term) may not need much in the way of sexual intimacy with other people because growing fatter is, for them, so powerfully autoerotic. They’ve basically subsumed their sexuality into a fetish of self-modification and its arousal. When that happens to turn them on more strongly than anyone else can, its natural for them to seek more fat over done-and-gone sex.
It’s interesting stuff to think about and even more interesting to explore for keeps.
This is an interesting topic and admittedly I’m not even 50% versed on how all the spectrum of human sexuality varies.. But I can offer my own input. I think fatsexual is a halfway decent term, but I think of gainer-sexual as sort of a Kinsey scale (but in this case a Gainer Scale.. name still TBD). You have people that are full on gainers, who’s sexuality entirely centers around the act of gaining/getting fatter, and it’s very self-centered. I guess the opposite of that would be the full-on encourager/feeder. Their sexuality is entirely focused on other people getting bigger. But this is sort of a false scale because I’m not 100% sure the gainer1 is a feeder/encourager (to a gainer6, who is a ‘total gainer’). Also, there are certainly many who are gainer-6s who also enjoy sexytime.. Or intimacy. I’m also not sure if being a gainer6 makes you less likely to want a sexual partner/relationship, but in some ways I can see that. I’m demi/fatsexual/gainer6 but I absolutely enjoy intimacy with other guys. Especially if they’re into my fatness.. But regardless, I love the idea of talking and sharing about our fat-lovin’ diverse group.
I am really digging this conversation. If I may chip in, the Kinsey scale has always been lacking; namely the desire to have a relationship or not. I know that something has been floating about facebook that adds that accompanying scale to the traditional Kinsey scale. We could do the same for “fatsexuals”.
That said, I dunno if I agree with Encouragers and Gainers being opposites. While traditionally our community has idealized the encourager/gainer dynamic, I believe this is no longer representative of the facts on the ground. Looking at grommr, it seems to me that chub4chub has really taken off, where both partners are gainers AND encouragers. So really we are looking at an encourager scale (E1-E6) and a gainer scale (G1-G6).
