I really wish they'd make a Korean (or ML China) drama about a girl who gets sucked into a Joseon (or Wuxia type) world who's a Westerner. Like! Imagine being the literal only non-korean (non-chinese) person around, being an oddity; does she even speak the language?? And even if she does, does she know enough Korean (or Mandarin) to understand all those ancient uncommon words? Wearing clothing she's never worn before, customs that are foreign to her. It would be all so confusing and interesting! She could be found by the prince or the king and be a cool new trinket of his before he ends up falling in love. It would be so amazing!!!

Downside of learning Mandarin but almost exclusively watching historical and wuxia type dramas is that they do not use very common words.

Upside of learning Mandarin but almost exclusively watching historical and wuxia type dramas is that they're all dubbed so the pronunciation is PERFECT so I'm learning the "correct and clear" Beijing accent.
