3RD POV
It’s a bright sunny afternoon, school is out, and it’s chaotic today. After a long day of school, Clark Kent and you walk down the long driveway to your house. Your chickens, cows, and horses are out and about. Your chickens are near the crops trying to eat them, your mother is trying to scare them off, your horses are grazing the fields of grass, and the cows are just laying on the grass. Your biology teacher decided to do a last minute presentation assignment. The assignment, pick whatever topic of biology interests you and research it and give a presentation about it and you also get to pick a partner for the assignment. Since you picked Clark Kent to be your partner, you decided to have Clark pick the research topic hoping it wouldn’t be hard or complicated. But nooo, he had to choose Astrobiology, and you have no clue what that is…
As you and Clark walk towards your house, he looks over at the chickens and the crops. You follow him, and let out a laugh which causes Clark to let out a laugh too.
“You know, I never would have thought chickens are savages until I met yours.” He says, letting out a soft laugh.
“Hey! My chickens are not savages, they are spoiled little chickens and are adorable.” You and Clark walk up the stairs leading to your house, “They’re smarter than they look too.”
You open the door for Clark, and like clock-work he starts to throw a hissy fit about you opening the door for him.
“You know I’m supposed to open the door for you…” Clark grumbles out, and brushes past you.
“You say that all the time Clark, you’re just too slow.”
Clark grins at you, like it’s the best comeback he’s heard at all, and heads straight down the hall. He makes his way at home, knowing that this place could be his home with how he’s almost always here. Clark probably does know your house better than you do, and you pride yourself that you know his house better than he does. Clark flings his backpack on the beanie bag near your door, opening it up to grab a notebook. He then moves to sit down on your bed, and puts the notebook down in front of him. You sit next to him on your bed. You put your backpack in between you and Clark, cracking open your notebook and two textbooks of Astrobiology next to the notebook.
Clark is the first one to speak up, “So. Astrobiology is life beyond Earth. Wonder if we’ll find aliens?”
You look up from him, and bite back a smile. “So actually I found one already, it’s when a certain someone tries to use the school printer.”
Clark lets out a laugh, “You know. Lana would love this topic. She’s always talking about stars.”
You force yourself a smile, wondering if he will ever see you the way you see him. But he won’t, not with the way he has his eyes and heart stuck on Lana Lang. She’s the bane of your existence. Whenever Clark talks about her, you train yourself not to flinch or give off any sign that you don’t like her.
You bite back a snarky remark, “Maybe she’ll do a follow up presentation about the galaxy and put us both to shame.”
Clark grins, not once looking up from the textbook, “She probably will, but I believe in us. She is way smarter than she gives herself credit for.”
You hum, not wanting to talk about her. Definitely not when he’s in your bed, not like that way. Unfortunately. You started to realize you had a crush on him when you were 12, now you're 15 and you have no clue if you regret not telling him. He doesn’t know about your crush, and you know that it’s better that way. Clark Kent is your best friend, your only real friend. If he knew, if you told him, then you might lose him. You came to accept that you will rather love him quietly then not have him at all.
You don’t realize you have been zoning out until Clark’s hand is in your face.
“You okay? You spaced out?” Clark says, concerned.
You just nod your head too quickly, “I’m fine. Just trying to figure out what to start with.”
He just nods his head, and he starts to ramble about Astrobiology. You let him as you are memorized by how excited he is, and let out a smile as you watch him. Occasionally you start to write some notes about Astrobiology, quite content its just you and him.
You look up at Clark, and then at the textbook. “Maybe we should start with how the universe became a thing, talk about evolution and what’s next for the universe.”
Clark nods his head, “Talk about the Big Bang and the Sun exploding and killing us all.”
You just nod your head, “If the sun explodes right now, I’m just glad we won’t have to do this assignment.” And you’ll be dying next to Clark.
Clark just lets out a laugh, shaking his head as you get started on the assignment. It’s been a couple hours before you speak up again.
“Clark?”
“Yeah?”
“Weird question. But do you ever feel like we’re just weird? That there’s nothing really out there for us but here in Smallville?"
“First define weird.” He looks up at you, shutting the textbook close.
“We don’t really fit in anywhere. You and me.” You shrug. “I mean yeah, you have Pete, Chloe, and Lana. But we’re the quiet farm kids who hang out with more animals than people right?”
Clark smiles and reaches out to hold your hand, comforting you. “I know that we fit in with each other. Isn’t that enough?”
You nod your head, ignoring the heart palpitations for a bit.
“But I think really, if you want something that isn’t here in Smallville you have to fight for it.” Clark says, looking back at the textbooks. “You sure you’re okay?”
You just nod your head, “Yeah. I’m fine.”
The only thing that matters is he’s here with you. Your mother is still yelling at the chickens, and inside you’re trying to slow your breathing so your heart won’t stop sprinting.
Little do you know that your parents have been having quiet serious conversations for months, that you and Clark have a legacy and future together. It’s a conversation that will change everything.

Testing for Bahrain wasn’t exactly what you had in mind. Lando’s car had a lot of troubleshooting issues, engine failures to aerodynamics, and wheel lock-ups. Lando insists on keeping you company, sarcasm slowly fades into a genuine connection. But then Lando starts looking at you like he’s more than just a mechanic. You start to worry, your anxiety about the public finding out about Sofia and if you really do deserve your job.
Part Three: Blurred Lines (Written, fake texts and smau but fake texts and smau heavy)
It’s finally the Australian Grand Prix, it’s your very first race as a F1 mechanic and the first race of the 2025 season. Not only is there pressure on the car and on the drivers, but on you. Will you be a good enough mechanic to help McLaren bring home the Drivers Championship AND the Constructors Championship. When a photo of Lando’s story accidentally reveals Y/N in the background, fans notice. Fast. The internet spirals into speculation — and Lando, instead of brushing it off, just... lets it happen. The speculation is cute — until Y/N gets uncomfortable. Lando notices. And instead of teasing, he backs off. That’s when Y/N realizes Lando might actually care.
Part Four: Quiet Hours (Written, some fake texts and smau but written heavy)
Lando finally admits to you telling you everything that he feels about the F1 world and his anxieties. You admit to him of some of your own anxieties, a lot of the what ifs that your feeling about being a mechanic now for F1. Especially about transition, you mention almost everything important but Sofia.
Part Five: Quiet Footsteps (Written, some fake texts and smau but written heavy)
When Y/N brings his daughter, Sofia, to the paddock unexpectedly, everything changes. Lando takes it in stride — jokes, games, and juice box bribes. He doesn’t just stay — he leans in. And Y/N’s worst fear starts to feel like the beginning of something good. People start speculating that Sofia is your daughter but then people start to hate on you and on Lando.
Part Six: Hot Laps (Written, some fake texts, written heavy)
It’s the week after the triple header and Lando admits to wanting to spend more time with you and Sofia, Sofia overhears and demands Lando to stay at their house. So he does, and he spends the weekend with you and Sofia. Lando freaks slightly when he overhears Sofia asking you when you're gonna admit your feelings to Lando.
Part Seven: Drifting (Written, fake texts)
Lando drifts apart, no texts, no calls, barely any communication within work. You start to overthink everything. What you didn’t know is that your ex caused this, and now you're trying to fix this all while keeping Sofia safe.
Part Eight: Home is Where the Heart Is
Four months later, the Italian Grand Prix ended with a Charles Leclerc win and a P2 for Lando and a P3 for Kimi Antonelli, you force a conversation out of Lando. He folds and ends up confessing everything, he wants it all. He wants you, Sofia, and you slowly believe that your allowed to have this kind of love. Lando and you finally go to Zak telling him everything, that you two are finally dating and Sofia calls Lando Daddy for the first time.
