To all the fan fic writers out there

I always felt like I should say this out loud because fan fictions are really underrated. Please excuse my grammar 😅. I’ve been reading novels since I was a kid and I never knew about fan fictions all my life (growing up in India does that to you).

I’ve discovered about fanfictions in 2019 (yeah I didn’t knew about fan fictions before that, please don’t judge me) when I finished reading Percy Jackson. It was actually an amazing crossover between Harry Potter and Percy Jackson on Wattpad.

I also read cursed child which was actually made canon. (Ew, please don’t come at me if you liked the book, that book sucks though tbh).

I hated it when people said that fan fictions are for losers because when I compared these two things it felt like the one who wrote Cursed Child didn’t even put an effort into it, when I read the crossover it felt like there’s a lot of effort behind it. I would prefer that crossover as canon over cursed child anyday.

I came to Tumblr recently after I started watching Supernatural, which was actually in October of 2020 (I know I’m late but better late than never right) and discovered some amazing writers.

Most of the fan fic writers here made posters, aesthetics and did their research on the fic they’re writing. But it’s not the same for the authors who wrote novels *cough* *cough* fifty shades of grey *cough* *cough*. I honestly got to know more about bdsm from a fan fiction more than that novel. (Please don’t come at me if you liked 50 shades but the book is really terrible tbh)

I had a terrible opinion on bdsm when I read fifty shades (or tried reading). But a fan fic actually changed that for me. Now all I’m trying to say is, you guys are really under appreciated and fan fictions deserve just as much as appreciation fan art/ memes in a fandom get.

I feel like fan fictions are a major part of the fandom. So, people please stop saying that fan fictions are for losers because they’re best. Not all fan fictions are like after. Please try to appreciate fan fiction writers than calling us losers because I know most of you read fan fictions secretly 😝.

I would like to conclude that most of you are better than some published authors out there and you all deserve a lot of appreciation and love. I love you all 😘.

 He was, he had no problem saying, one of the best hunters in the world. He had saved the world multiple times. Yeah, ok, maybe Sam helped a little, but still. He had fought both heaven and hell more times than he could count anymore.

 And yet, here he stood, unable to get one decent picture of himself.

 Stupid.

 It was the only thing left to do to complete his profile, to add his profile picture. He had been very tempted to just leave it blank, or just put a logo of something he liked. But that wouldn’t do. You go on a dating site and refuse to put up an actual photo of yourself? Pshhh, yeah, because that doesn’t just scream: STRANGER DANGER! I HAVE SOMETHING TO HIDE!

 The whole point was to attract potential dates, not scare them away before he even had a chance to lay on the charm. And, plus, how would he attract anyone without actually showing off the goods?

 Men like meat, and I’m nothing but bones and had been told as much from multiple ex-boyfriends and even some of my friends.

 Heavy footsteps from down the hall pull me out of my self-deprecation, reminding me what I’m here for.

 "Hey, smalls,” he says. “What’re ya up to?“

 Sam.

 Tall, virile, muscular - all man.

 "Hey, Sam,” I say on a sigh.

 "What’s wrong?“ he asks.

 Ever the concerned friend. Emphasis on friend.

 Standing up, I gesture toward the books. “I was trying to reach the lore book I needed, but it’s all the way up there. Even standing on a stool, I can’t reach.”
