LitArchive is scraping fics without permission (and feeding AI with them)

I’m making this post to warn my fellow writers and readers. I recently found out that a platform called LitArchive has been reposting my fanfics without my consent.

They sent me a "polite" message acting like they did me a favour (I don't understand what they're linking to because my fanfics aren't posted on Ficbook),

but here is what’s actually happening:

They uploaded my work first and reached out later. That’s not "sharing," that’s content theft.

They’ve attached hideous AI-generated covers to my stories. This means my fics were fed into a generator without my knowledge. I’m not a luddite — I understand AI has its uses — but it has no place in creative spaces . Using a machine to "decorate" human-written stories is a slap in the face to every writer in this community.

They replaced my original summaries with AI-generated ones:

They are pitching "monetization" for original stories, which, of course, comes with a "modest" commission for their platform.

Do they honestly think anyone would trust their "archive" with original stories after this? It’s transparently pathetic: they scrape fanfics because that’s where the views and the traffic are, using our hard work as bait to build a user base for their business. They treat our creativity as raw material for their algorithms and profit margins.

Fandom is about human connection, not being "scraped" by some shady startup.

If you post on AO3, Wattpad, etc, please check if your work has been "archived" there.

Eternally Bound: The Fellowship Reforged  by Glow and Moonshine

Sauron has been defeated forever, yet Aragorn and the surviving members of the Fellowship of the Ring find themselves torn by grief, believing the fires of Mount Doom have consumed Sam and Frodo. Sorrow for their fallen comrades clouds their hearts, not only for the Ring-bearer and his faithful companion, but for Boromir the Brave as well. Once again split up, each member of the Fellowship must face his own personal demons as they recount tales from their journey that are both painful and loving. As Merry, Pippin, and Gimli accompany Éomer and the armies of Gondor and Rohan back to Minas Tirith, Legolas and Aragorn are summoned by Gandalf to Ithilien...where they are met with a most unexpected discovery. Aragorn must call upon every inner resource in an effort to heal the failing Hobbits who suffer from a malady akin to the Black Breath. I've been trying to hunt down this fic for a few years now—a Lord of the Rings slash zine that I first discovered through some absolutely gorgeous Aragorn/Boromir artwork I kept stumbling across online.

When I search for it by name, Google just spits back the Kristin Thompson Tolkien Fandom Collection catalogue, but there's no way to actually view the zine itself, which is frustrating.

About six months ago, I actually spotted a physical copy on eBay, but since I've never bought anything from the platform before and the seller wasn't shipping to my country, I chickened out. Now the listing's vanished and I'm absolutely kicking myself.

(If anyone reading this managed to buy this zine—please DM me. I'm genuinely losing my mind trying to figure out what's in it.)

Phyre as Banu Haqim Careful, there are spoilers for the game’s ending!

I can’t shake the feeling that the most “canonical” clan for Phyre is Banu Haqim (I played as a Lasombra myself). This thought came to me at the very end of the game, when it turned out that Fabien was planning to turn to the Justicars for help (and one of the Banu Haqim outfits is even called “Justicar”—although technically, Justicar is a title not strictly bound to any single clan). Besides, this clan is known for being arbiters of justice and would probably feel right at home as sheriffs.

So it feels symbolic that Fabien’s desire was sincere, and that he really did draw into his unlife someone who helped him finally close such a long investigation. And besides, until recently, the Banu Haqim mainly resided in Alamut (which is in Iran), and Iran borders Turkey, where there’s the wonderful city of Istanbul—formerly known as Constantinople. And in Constantinople, as you all know, certain notable figure lived :)

Do you have any links to any interviews/blogs/etc. regarding the early concepts for VTMB2? I didn't follow the news very closely during its development and now I can't find any information other than the meagre "the main character in the initial concepts was weak-blooded" from Wikipedia 😭😭😭

Words: 2,893 Plot: You can’t hide from the Camarilla’s long arm in a city where LaCroix reigns. The Prince tracks Nines down even in his own lair, strolling into Anarch territory like he owns the place. The Ventrue’s unshakable arrogance is a bulletproof shield, but Nines still manages to sink his fangs in. The scuffle in the back seat of LaCroix’s car feels nothing like political warfare, and a quick deal plus a parting piece of “valuable” advice turns this surprise encounter deeply personal. a/n: this fic (or rather, the series, the first part of which it is) is the culmination of my many years of wanting to read a (huge) slowburn based on one of my favourite pairings. I was inspired not only by the game, but also by the setting of the old World of Darkness, so there won't be retelling with UST between enemies. Or rather, not only it ;)
