It seemed that it didnât matter what era Rangers were at. They always held a feeling of safety and familiarity to them.
âYeah, Ceresâ rumors have been circulating forever,â Charlie admitted and let out a sigh. He shook his head, âSometimes, itâs hard to believe that the cityâs still standing. Must be thanks to all of the heroes that live here, you know? The heroes and the Rangers.â This era of IS Rangers had been his favorite to read and researched. They broke ground in many different ways. It was impressive. Even though Charlie had been the Silver Ranger in the future, he couldnât compare himself to the Rangers right now.
Charlie paused. He bit the inside of his cheek, frowning for a moment as he tried to figure out how to explain.  âYeah, I dunno,â Charlie admitted, âItâs hard for me to focus at any other time besides Midnight. Thatâs the only time I ever have real control of my thoughts.â There were many moments of confusion that were sorted out the moment the moonlight hit; his abilities lay close with the moon, after all.  âI hope I figure it out,â Charlie said with a smile. Although he kept claiming confusion, Charlieâs heart already made the decision.
Bryshere gave his excuse, but Charlie didnât believe it. Not one bit. He knew the Rangers and he knew their personalities. However, he didnât have the place to call Bryshere out on it. He rose an eyebrow and said, âErrands? At this hour? Itâs so late. I hope you got everything done.â
âCityâs too strong to take anything laying down,â Bryshere commented. Like him, there were too many people that resided here who were far too stubborn to let anyone else win. He grinned at the mentioned the rangers - the pride that came when people spoke greatly of their team wasnât something that would ever get old.  âYeah, plenty of heroes who come here to fight for the right things,â he said, a faint smile traced itself onto his lips.  âIâm glad weâve got people fighting the good fight.â
Midnight was a strange hour. There was always an unsettling feeling that came when the moon was out; unsettling, but not ill-natured.  âNo, it makes sense,â Bryshere said, âThe night is quiet. The city finally goes to sleep, so everything kind of quiets down.â He looked at the teen, âI hope you figure it out too, man. Itâs hard when youâve got too much stuff in your mind.â
Errands was a stupid lie. His father told him that if he ever needed to come up with a backstory, he should do it properly. He sighed, âEh, it ran longer than needed. With SHOT around, I just wanted to make sure people I knew were okay.â It wasnât a lie. His duty was to protect people and make sure they were safe, whether he knew it or not.
