Absolutely RANCID sawyerberry AUs i just made up in my head when i should be working on my portfolios
Theatre Department AU: they are all theatre kids, some are actors and some are crew. I can see Tom in the sound/lighting bc hehe fun buttons!! I can also see him as stage manager but he also sucks at his job. Huck is like new to stage design but is lowkey pretty good at construction to the point of promoting him to construction lead and even co-stage manager. Becky, Amy, and for some reason Joe Harper as actors. Becky is like the Rachel Berry but only on stage, Amy is fucking talented at what shes doing, and Joe was there because they really needed a male actor. I can add in Lisette as well but her ass isnt canon
La La Land AU (spoilers included): Tom wants to start a jazz club called Pig On A Stick, later named Tom's. Huck wants to be an actor or smth idk, i cant see him as one but maybe he'll just be a playwright like Mia before getting big. Yes they will dance around LA, yes im biased because i love film and LA, yes they will have to break up in the end. Fuck im just realizing it might work the other way around , like Tom as Mia and Huck as Sebastian
Grease AU: i just think tom's band of robber would go so hard doing grease lightning bro, i wanna draw it now. This is more like a tom x becky thing because becky would be like the best Sandy, i just cant see huck as sandy. He drinks, swears, he rats his hair, and he doesnt get sick from one cigarette. Becky does none of that and yk what, queen behavior. Also its like perfect canon-wise, his band of robbers are like greasers and Becky's hypothetical/non-existent/non-canon friend group are so pink ladies coded
Government AU: Tom is running in his own independent political party that consists of bullshit and Alfred is his opponent (hes likely republican, idk). Huck is his very competent advisor and vice president. Who knows, he'll also be the first ever first man of america as well.
Southern Gothic Horror AU: its like ethel cain, but its also not, like its jolly but its not too jolly idk i just made that one up rn. I was just listening to preacher's daughter and it left such an ugly feeling in my throat, like for me its somewhat relatable but its not?? And maybe thats why i just left this here, you make up the plot, not me.
Glee AU: self explanatory, i dont need to elaborate.

Reading Adventures of Huckleberry Finn for my degree made me rethink the lyrics of Tom Sawyer by Rush, and I’m like “the lyrics fit Huck way more than Tom”, and then I realized that it was Actually Totally In Character for Tom Sawyer to steal Huck’s schtick lol
I don’t think I can listen to the Rush song again because of this, put some respect on Huckleberry’s name dammit
