Hilda barely had her footing in this new world, but it was exciting. Of course, she was feeling for all of those people who had lost their lives, and those who had to say goodbye to their loved ones. Seeing someone laying down flowers, she approached slowly, standing next to her. "Did you know them?" she asked, looking at the memorials. "Death isn't forever, my darling. I know that. They'll be back at some time in the future. I came back."
Keyleth straightened up, looking over at the woman who joined her. "No, I'm pretty new here. But I figure they deserve recognition and flowers." She offered a sad smile as she looked over the memorial. "Yeah most people say that there's life after death... wait." A confused look took over her face. "What do you mean you came back? That doesn't make any sense."
vex had been out and about, but hadn't thought until now to visit the memorial. it was nothing official at this point, just mostly a bunch of flowers and photos of the deceased. she hadn't recognized the other at first due to the lack of antlers, actually walking past them, but when they spoke, her head snapped to them. "keyleth?" tears began welling up in her eyes, "darling, is that you? i guess i should say i'm happy you're alive, all things considered." she motioned to the piles of flowers in front of them.
At the sound of her name, Keyleth looked up. She was a bit startled, not realizing that she had company. The shock changed to confusion when the voice felt familiar but she couldn't recognize the face. "Yes?" She stood up and brushed herself off. "I mean I'm glad I'm alive too. I'm just upset that this happened to so many people." Her face fell a bit and her heart ached looking at the memorial. It just felt like something she had seen before but she knew she hadn't. "I don't mean to be rude but we've met before right?"
Percy was pretty distinct anyway with his white hair and round glasses. Even without her remembering him from home. "No it seems like you absolutely nailed it for my wife." He nodded with a smile on his features. "So well done." Watching her eyes light up did make him smile. It was painful to not have her remember. But she was safe, that was what mattered right now. "Thank you my parents really went all out with the name. Gave me no chance of being cool." He joked a little bit. There were few people he was comfortable around to joke and be himself with. "Keyleth. Pleasure to meet you properly." He nodded in greeting. "It really is terrible. Experiencing death, close ones dying is not something I want to experience again." His family... Vex... himself. Even Keyleth. It had been a lot to take. "They will be remembered." He managed a small smile. "Funny you say that one of my guns is named Bad News." He motioned to the shotgun on his back.
"I do try to make sure everyone is happy. Being a florist mean you see people at their happiest but also sometimes when they are the lowest. Those are the hard ones." Keyleth had never lost anyone but she always felt like she could empathize with the people who had. She wasn't sure why, but something in her echoed the same grief that they often felt. "No way! I think it's a super cool name. Maybe a bit of a mouthful but very posh." Her smile brightened as he joked with her. Almost like an old friend. "Wait? You've gone through that? I'm so sorry. I- Oh I kinda stuck my foot in my mouth there didn't I? I don't know why but I've always felt that I understand that kind of pain." She twisted a piece of her hair around her fingers. "Is it? Lucky guess than! Sorry when I get nervous I get a bit ramble-y."

the fairy didn't quite smile at the others words, but it lifted their spirits a little as she dropped her own flowers on the memorials nearby. "i wish i knew. but they'll find something soon, they've already caught some of the people behind it. it has to end soon, doesn't it?" xiao lanhua sighed, sitting down in front of the memorial for jesper, adjusting a few of the flowers so you could see his name better.
The other woman was right. Things were getting better. They had to catch everyone eventually, right? Keyleth sighed but tried to keep her spirits up. "I hope so. I don't know why it's happening but all we have is hope to lead us through this. Well and also the people who are catching these killers." She watched her tidy some of the flowers and could tell she had lost someone. "They'll find the people who did this.".
It was never fun when the town decided to throw curveballs in the direction of the people that lived here. It was never fun having to look over one's shoulder due to the creeping fear of something bad happening to you. And it was never fun having to solve a mystery that shouldn't have happened to begin with. Letting out a soft sigh, his gaze moved towards the person who had just talked, letting out a low hum. "Are you trying to crack the case?" Remus asked, crossing his arms over his chest. It was good to know that someone tried to find answers to what was going on. It was almost comforting.
"Me?" Keyleth straightened up and dusted herself off, giving him a tired smile. "I'm trying to. Can't say I'll figure anything out but never hurts to try. I haven't been around here long." She really should be worrying about herself more than she was but she couldn't just do nothing. That would make her feel even worse. So she was going to try her best, no matter the situation. "What about you? Have you been looking into things?"
The lack of recognition confirmed what he suspected, no memories. It felt like he had been stabbed the way she looked at him. She was bascially family and had no idea who he was. He would just have to play along. "Yes you did. I ordered a bouquet for my wife. She's not the biggest of flowers and stuff but you made some good recommendations. She was very appreciative." He smiled at her. It was really painful to pretend like their bond was so superficial. Last thing he remembered of her was her giving him his last little bit of strength before he died. All he wanted to do was thank her, make sure she was okay but here they were. "Percival De Rolo. But you can call me Percy." He held his hand out in greeting to her. "Everyone is doing what they can in such a weird situation but I am sure the people are grateful for what you are doing."
"See I knew you looked familiar! I'm glad they went over well with her. Some people are so pick with what they like but I haven't been wrong yet. Thought it's only been a short time, it's a good start." Keyleth's eyes lit up. She was always excited when she could make someone's day better. Something in her made her want to hug this stranger, which she almost did before remembering that one, she didn't really know him and two, he had a lot of weaponry with him. "What a name. Very distinguished." Almost with no thought of her own, she could feel herself mouthing a much longer name with a smile on her face. She quickly took his extended hand, her grip gentle but firm. "Percy it is! I'm Keyleth Tempest." Her face darkened a little at the thought of what was really happening around her. "It really is terrible. Having to deal with so much. I just know if it was someone I loved, I'd want people to remember them. Though you seem like you can definitely protect yourself. You've got some bad news with you."

Percy was looking for Vex still, having lost her and Vax in the crowds of people. He still had his pepperbox strapped to his leg and ‘Bad News’ on his back just in case. He was taking absolutely no chances of dying again, seeing how he had just come back from the dead. “You’ll drive yourself mad trying to understand.” He understood darkness, he understood revenge and when the pain took over entirely. It was hard to get out of that mindset. He looked over at her and realized it was Keyleth. “Keyleth?” He was shocked to see her but so relieved. A little surprised she didn’t recognize him. “What you are doing is very kind. It brings people peace.”
Keyleth sighed and bit her lip. She knew that he was probably right but it still hurt to know people had that darkness in them. Something about his voice gave her the feeling that he knew what he was saying all too well and for a moment she felt as though she understood exactly where it came from. But than it was gone like a whisper on the wind. “That is a possibility. Though I certainly hope not.” She laughed a bit in spite of the grimness of the situation. As he called her name “Yes?” She tilted her head to the side, a confused look appearing on her features. “I’m sorry, have I delivered flowers for you before?” As she looked the man over, she realized she couldn’t put a name to the face. You would think a man with weaponry would scare her, but something about him reminded her of someone she felt she knew. “I hope so. There’s not much else I can do. I’m pretty new here so I’m just doing what I can.”

Keyleth knew that branching out on her own was going to be hard. Thought most people she had come across were kind and understanding, she did run into nasty people here and there. For the most part it had been tough but a fun journey for her. Now, however, everything had been flipped on it's head. People dying, murderers on the loose; everything seemed so chaotic around her. She was doing her best not to be overwhelmed in the panic around her. Trying to keep her daily life on trace while also looking into what was going on as much as she could. Was it the best idea? Absolutely not, but there was something in her that made her feel like she had to help in some way. For now, that was just delivering flowers to memorials. Even though she didn't know these people, they still deserved to be remembered. "I just don't understand how people can be so awful to other people." Keyleth frowned as she laid down the last of the bouquets she had brought. "Hopefully more information is found. For now this is what I can do." She was speaking out loud, though she hadn't realized yet that other people could hear her rambling.
Was that [ABIGAIL COWEN]? Oh no no, that was just [KEYLETH], a [CANON CHARACTER] from [CRITICAL ROLE]. They are [TWENTY-THREE] years old, use [SHE/HER], and [ARE NOT] aware that they are not actually from Washington DC. Too bad they can’t stray from this city for long
