Its Not fun being Anorexic in your mid 20s. Most ppl I meet online talk about school and boys while I am over here trying to convince my husband I ate after I put our child to bed and calculating how many calories will get me through my work day.
Here’s my workout routine (mainly cardio+ Pilates) that I use to make my body look lean and graceful for my companies upcoming Swan Lake ballet.
Goals: the goal of this schedule isn’t to lose weight but to lean out my muscles to give a more swan like appearance.
Monday: 6 am- 8 am ballet class
8k steps
30 minutes on treadmill
40 minute ballet Pilates
8 minute fix round shoulders
Tiny waist workout
Tuesday: 5pm-7pm ballet class
7k steps
10 minute Quick hip dips and saddle workout
Weighted hula hoop for 30 minutes
15 minute model legs
Strong stable feet
Wednesday: stretching + 20 min cardio
Thursday:6-8 am ballet class
8k steps
30 minutes on treadmill
40 minute ballet Pilates
8 minute fix round shoulders
Tiny waist workout
Friday: 5pm-7pm ballet class
7k steps
10 minute Quick hip dips and saddle workout
Weighted hula hoop for 30 minutes
15 minute model legs
Strong stable feet
Saturday: day of stretching + cardio
Sunday: day for stretching
What makes this effective: the four days of cardio + 3 days of stretching is to lean out any bulky muscle. The three days of stretching are specifically to gain flexibility throughout the week as well as to reduce risk of injury compared to a full week of cardio. While cardio definitely will tone and warm up the muscles, stretching is needed to give a softer appearance by elongating areas while they are still tense and warm. Something I’ve definitely learned throughout my time in ballet is that practice outside of class is required if you want to have a set stage presence. Only attending ballet classes will NOT create a better dancer, but what also won’t create a great dancer is someone who won’t care for the body they must dance in. I have set aside time in my day to practice ballet more thoroughly, but for now this is how I plan to give myself the expected presence my company wants me to have.
