Amelia's Magazine 10th Anniversary Gold Foil Book
To celebrate the 10th anniversary of Amelia's Magazine, creator of the magazine, Amelia Gregory has posted an open brief on her website to image makers and writers to contribute work under the theme of 'That Which We Do Not Understand'. Work that is selected from this process will then go on to feature in a special edition gold foil printed book. As well as a small selection of the work being made into fine art prints with real gold foil highlights.
As a long time follower of Amelia's Magazine, this was an opportunity not to be missed. For me, this brief sparked an interest in the practice of crystal healing. I knew the intricate patterns and colours of the precious gem stones used in this practice would be fun to convey in an illustration and above, you can see my final image for the brief.
To get this fantastic book into production, Amelia is running a kickstarter campaign to fund the making costs and also offer some brilliant rewards in the process. For just £20 (+ £3 postage) you can receive your very own copy of the book. It features work from some fab illustrators such as Essi Kimpimaki, Adam Corns, Carly Watts and many more.
To find out more about the project and see examples of work to be featured in the book, please visit the kickstarter page here. And don't forget to spread the word on twitter with the hashtag #TWWDNU
