This is Faye Chamberlain:

"resident bad girl" She is flirty with almost everyone, reckless and for some reason she likes to get really close to people when she argues with them; no sense of personal space as it seems. Together they are Fayana.

So they start off as rivals because Diana is trying to control Faye but Faye does not like that at all. Clashing personalities pretty much. Faye just always wants to have it her way and ignores Diana’s advice completely or argues with her. Of course they have to intensely stare into eachothers eyes whenever they argue because that’s totally normal….

(okay so technically this one was a bit after the fight but I couldnt find one of their argument) There are many more but I am already investing too much time in this as it is.
