“Every wrong way.” Abel huffed but he let it go anyway. “Alfie and I weren’t a thing. Never were but we have really great chemistry. It’s complicated but no he wasn’t the “lover”, my boyfriend Cedric Heart was. I thought you and Alfie would like each other, that’s why I supported you with the whole kissing him on New Years thing.” 

“Great chemistry, but never dated? That’s, well, I was going to say weird, but I think it’s more than that. I feel like if I ended up dating Alfie at that time I would’ve been really insecure about the two of you having ‘great chemistry’ but that might just be because I’m me, so I don’t know.” A small shrug. “I liked him, or like, I don’t know it’s really dumb for me right now-- but we did kiss but everything went downhill from there I guess. Nothing I can do about it right now.”

“I might have a bit of a bad memory.” Alfie admitted sheepishly, as the elevator arrived. He stepped inside and pressed the button to his floor. “Personal use? Gross. In my apartment, of all places?” He asked, eyebrows raising. “Yeah, no. I’m not scared of him. You’ll be fine since you’re staying for a few days. I’m moving out anyway by next week. I can’t stand living with this asshole.”

“Ouch, Mousey-- don’t go breaking my heart already.” Her laugh followed her just like she followed the boy into the elevator. “Oh boo hoo. I never said I would do anything like that in your house. Although, since I am apparently staying for ‘a few days’ you never know.” Sticking her tongue out at Alfie, Becky laughed once again. “Seriously? Have fun with that. Let me know when it happens, I could use a little heavy lifting.”
