good morning, i think i may end up moving becca to a new blog to start fresh and bring some tagged stuff over with me! i think if i can get a hold of and tailor a new space, i might be able to actually churn out some proper writing. ♡︎
so im heavily debating officially setting my other blogs on hiatus, and maintaining here alongside a possible b.g3 multi or a solo blog for orin? ive been pushing to try writing a lot since before christmas and while muse is absolutely there, its v difficult to combat it and form anything beyond the skeletal posts in my drafts, alongside the fact a lot of my thoughts around rebecca portrayal wise have changed compared to when i first set up here and are thankfully far more coherent / established.
i think burning through what ive the most interest in currently might get me out of that writing rut, and im also absolutely not cut out for more than like. two blogs lmao, so we'll see.

my favourite thing regarding "oh everyone and their dog thinks rupert is this great person because of the press meanwhile rebecca is somehow the ice queen" is the fact there were absolutely a ton of sapphics out there who would've killed him on the spot for her. like keeley telling her how she felt seeing the articles is literally right there in canon wait until she finds out about football lesbians on stan twitter.

doing a little reflection on it all and i do think that i appreciate rebecca n matthijs more if narratively he serves to show rebecca’s journey by acting as a summer love n staying as that. like the whole romcom energy of finding yourself in another country and having a summer love, not becoming serious or expecting a relationship but discovering things about yourself when you're not in your typical routine / environment through your time with someone, and carrying a little piece of them and that time in your heart because you both understand what it is.
going from the struggle to accept loneliness, into the push to try and reconcile it when she discovers she isn't ready, to the healing of that through small situations ( and a good chunk of therapy bc babygirl u need it ) and the gradual realisation that she can be on her own or she can be with someone, the important difference is that its her choice and she has the means to go after what she wants in life, while finally being comfortable in her solitude.
