ohharrison:
“The rain can drive everyone crazy after a while, I think, so no worries.” Harrison replies, smiling.
“Are you from here? Like, originally?” she asked, tilting her head slightly. “Just out of curiosity. I’m nosy.”
m-cavaliere:
“I lived in Chicago before I moved here. My family moved there when I was thirteen for my father’s job. I just needed a change of scenery, is all.”
“Ah, so you’ve been in the States for a while, then,” she observed. “I get it, staying in the same place for too long can get pretty boring.”
smhsawyer:
“Yeah, that’s seriously what it feels like that. We hate leaving her, my roommate and I.” He nodded with a small smile. “You can just call me Sawyer.” He laughed, shaking his head at her. “Well at least you feel bad, people have stolen from us before and not thought twice about it. So I appreciate that you care.”
“Well, at least there’s two of you around. She doesn’t have to go too long with being alone, right?” She paused. “Alright, Sawyer it is then. Shoplifting isn’t really usually my thing-- obviously, I’ve done it before, but I always go home feeling really bad. Just a crazy amount of guilt. I really need to stop. Maybe get a job or something before I get deported for pocketing some paintbrushes,” she said, raising her eyebrows and sighing.
wydcooper:
“Are you planning on leaving us already?”
“Not anytime soon, but you know, after I graduate. Maybe. I’ve gotten quite smitten with Tacoma.”
madisonk-cavaliere:
“You didn’t research the city before you moved?” Madison gave a confused look at the blonde. “I mean, you have lived here a year. I think you should know by now what the weather is like.”
“I mean, I did do a little research... I definitely didn’t check out the weather as much as I probably should have,” she laughed at herself. “I’ve got a feel for it, still getting used to it.”
wydcooper:
“I mean, it snows sometimes…but it usually doesn’t stick too much. Sorry.”
“Sometimes is better than never, I suppose. My dream of a white Christmas will have to wait until-- I mean, if I decide to relocate.”
m-cavaliere:
“Well, at least close to Mediterranean. I’m originally from Venice, Italy. I’m in the northernmost region of the country, but the weather there is a stark difference from Tacoma.”
“Italy? I could definitely see how that could be different. If you don’t mind me asking, what brings you here? I mean, Venice is just such a beautiful city..”
mcguinesso:
“The mountains seem to get a nice amount of snow, but Tacoma’s always so rainy. I don’t mind it too much, though. Snow’s fun for like five minutes but then you’re just cold and dealing with people who have no idea how to drive in it. Where did you move from?”
“That’s a solid point-- I had never considered the driving. I’ve heard horror stories involving ice and shitty drivers,” she nodded. “I’m originally from Australia. Kind of far from home.”
smhsawyer:
“I’ve never had a dog before her…but I really love her.” He nodded with a small smile. “She’s always happy to see me when I get home. I feel so bad when I leave her, though.” Sawyer chuckled. “Alright, that’s a fair point. But you also didn’t get in trouble. Not this time.” He added, being playful but also somewhat serious.
“It almost feels like you’re abandoning them, right? Even if it’s only for a few hours-- still heartbreaking,” she sighed, her mind momentarily wandering to the two dogs she had left home in Australia. She felt like a hypocrite. Few hours? It had been a year. She swallowed the lump that had formed in her throat, then smiled. “It won’t happen again, Mr. Manager. I can promise that. I feel bad as it is, now that I know you, I’d feel even worse,” she chuckled.”I do have morals, or whatever.”
ohharrison:
“All of Washington is pretty rainy. It grows on you though, I think..”
“I’m still waiting on that part, I guess. It’s actually kind of nice sometimes. I just like to complain,” she laughed.
smhsawyer:
“Once I started getting too lonely, I got a dog. Her name is Luna.” Sawyer said through a cheesy smile. “I’ve never been the kind of person to get in trouble. Ever. You have to actually talk to people to get in trouble, so.” He teased.
“That’s actually a brilliant idea; dog’s are the best companions. All you need to do is love them and take care of them, and you’re their favourite person.” She paused for a second, then smirked. “That isn’t entirely true. It’s pretty easy to get in trouble by yourself,” she chuckled, gesturing towards her bag.
ohharrison:
“We mostly get rain here, sorry.”
“I’ve noticed. I had heard about how much it rained around Seattle, but I was hoping it was just an exaggeration.”
wydcooper:
“I figured Australia.” Cooper replies, laughing softly. “What brought you to Tacoma? If you don’t mind me asking.”
“You’d be surprised at how many people assume Florida,” she sighed. “School. Change of pace. I wanted something different, and I definitely got that-- but it’s nice, really nice. Are you from here, originally?”
smhsawyer:
Sawyer just nodded, laughing softly as she rolled her eyes. “I’m the same way…I work and go home. That’s pretty much it. Socializing isn’t really for me…I’d much rather just paint or watch a movie.”
“You and I are too alike,” she shook her head. “It’s the same for me. It stresses me out. It can get pretty lonely, but at least you stay out of trouble.”
m-cavaliere:
“I’ve been around a lot of it. Once you see a lot you will lose the excitement. I grew up in a Mediterranean climate and I thought the snow in the winter in the states would be cool. The thrill wore off fast.”
"I could definitely see that. Wait-- Mediterranean? You must be a long way from home, then.”
wydcooper:
“Where are you from?”
“Melbourne,” she paused for second. “Like, Australia. Not Florida.”
