“Yeah, I’m sure it’s all for your reports and nothing else.”
“But of course.”
“Oh, you know. Pretty much the same thing,” he joked. “Only not really. I just feel like it would make it hard to buy alcohol, or walk around shirtless, or…. yeah. I don’t think I want photographers following me around.”
“Shirtless with vodka. Sounds like a story I’d definitely report on, maybe I should get my camera.”
“Yeah. Plus I’d kind of hate to have cameras following me everywhere with all the shit I get up to. Mainly because my parents would find out what I do, but I’m sure there’s other reasons.”
“I’m probably too boring for them to follow, the most scandalous thing they’d see me doing is trying to catch food before it hits the ground.” She shrugged her shoulders, looking up at the other. “So what do you get up to?”
“Yeah, but to be fair, most of the time we are doing something.”
Perri chuckled lightly. “Well yes. But they don’t need to know that.”

“ There is darkness in light, there is pain in joy, and there are thorns on the rose.”
“Really?” he raised an eyebrow back at her, before chuckling a little. “I’m kidding. But it is funny to see people squirm when they think you saw them doing something.”
Perri raised her eyebrows before catching onto the joke and looking down, laughing lightly. “Well, with the life we live, everyone thinks you’re doing something most of the time.”
“You know I saw that, right?”
“Hm?” She looked up at the other, raising an eyebrow. “I-I don’t think you saw anything.”
“Haven’t seen you in awhile, just wanted to see how you were actually”
“I’m alright,” she shrugged looking up at him. “Same as ever really, how are you doing?”
“And ruining a painting in the process. Sometimes I think drinking the paint water would be the better option.”
“Apart from the chemical poisoning, it would save the painting.”
“Well it was a very nice jumble of notes,” he laughed.
She pushed her hair behind her ear, smiling and looking down at the notes. “Oh, well um, thank you.”
“You’d think by now I would have learnt to keep my tea well away from my paint water. Yeah, so not the case.”
“Oh no, I’ve done that before, but with coffee, not tea. I just ended up painting with the tea instead.”
“Hey, you busy?”
“Depends. What’s up?”
“Dogs are good,” Gus let out a huff of laughter, smiling brightly, “Warmth, though, s’not my favorite. Too hot here.”
“I don’t think any rational person couldn’t agree the goodness of dogs,” she laughed along the with the boy. “You could always try going for a swim?”
“M’happy it’s been warmer lately–I’ve seen so many dogs out!”
“Warmth and dogs, definitely a great combination.”
“No problem,” Callan grinned. “It’s alright, I was being nosy. Are you writing a song?”
She chuckled looking down at her notes. “I wouldn’t call it a song, more like a jumble of notes.”
Violet never meant to disturb the girl, sneaking in silently and trying to look for her missing book. She turned around after accidentally knocking something onto the floor, making a loud thud. She looked over at the girl, frowning. “Sorry, I wasn’t trying to interrupt.”
Perri snapped her head up as she heard the bang, noticing the girl. “Oh, hi, no it’s cool,” she placed the pen behind her ear, smiling at the other. “Are you alright?”
