Still trying to figure out the other characters tho. Obvi Robin is the best friend but I don't care for the B-plot so idk whether to ignore it or alter it.

Also gotta figure out if Max or Dustin makes more narrative sense for his younger sibling.

A plan was hatched.

My first idea was to make these detachable chevrons, but that didn't work at all.

Second plan worked, I'm a bit of a packrat so I had some packing foam. I stuck the lights in there and stuck it piece by piece on a ring of worbla.

Second ring, the material is also worbla.

Very finicky cable management. Had to stick a paper ring behind it to tame the cables with tape xD

Worbla inner case. I basically just cut out strips and molded them onto the base.

I was reaching the, what have I gotten myself into stage. Thankfully that feeling passed quickly.

There are more details on the actual Stargate, but I felt that would overcrowd my ring perhaps?

The stripes on the chevron are gift wrap string and the 'glass' is the plastic you can stick against windows.

Base made out of three pieces of supermarket wine crate. My husband glued them together and made the slit to put the gate in with a chain saw. Bit dramatic, but it worked xD

Secured the gate with that fake snow you can get in a crafting store, same with the little pine trees. They are from Action, I think it's comparable to dollar tree etc? The stones are painted toiletpaper rolls.

And that's it :D Put the remainder of the lights all over the base and covered it that that snow.
