She sees herself in Frida in more ways than just the firstborn magic or slumber spells. While Frida remains soft in all the places Freya is but sharp edges, she fully understands the excitement discovering this brand new world brings; even feels it, though in her case it might have less to do with the carnival itself and more with the chance of spending it with her niece.
“I suppose I need not to ask you whether you are ready then,” she teases lightly before giving her a nod. “It is time indeed. Just promise to TELL ME if you ever start feeling overwhelmed and we can go.” Pleased as she is with Frida not hiding from it all, being in a loud crowd of people could still end badly.
“I am VERY READY.” Despite her Aunt not technically asking her question, Frida answers it anyway. An excited smile was lighting up her face as she nodded her head. “I PROMISE Auntie Freya. I will let you know. But I’m sure it will be fine!” She’s made a lot of progress when it came to noises, people and overwhelming situations. She was at least eighty percent sure she’d make it through the night without causing an earthquake. Maybe seventy-five percent. Sixty?
“I’ve heard all different things about carnivals! There’s music, and games, and rides, right?” Frida asked, as she went to stand by Freya’s side, excitement buzzing her entire being. “It sounds SO FUN.”
