“Don’t let me go,” Elphaba muttered against him, voice low as she tilted her face up towards his to press a light kiss to his lips. “I’ve missed you too. More than words can even begin to express.” She couldn’t stop the laughter that bubbled out her when he suggested the idea that she may become vain with her recent degreenification. “I don’t think we have to worry about that. My looks have never been a main focus, and they certainly won’t start being so now.”

Fiyero hadn't let Elphaba go even after all of Oz turned on her, and he wouldn't start now. The prince loved the witch and that was all that mattered to him. He kissed her back, wrapping his arms around her even tighter. In the back of his mind, he wondered "what now?" But as long as Elphaba was with him, come whatever the world had in store, they could and would face it together. Her words were true though: she had never put much stock in her appearance, instead, she chose to beautify her mind and that was what Fiyero found most beautiful about her. It was true, he believed with his whole heart that she was beautiful green, and now, not green but he first fell for her mind. The rest came later. "Do you have a home here?" He'd just arrived and wasn't sure where he was supposed to go.

Elphaba moved into his space without hesitation, holding him tight and breathing him in. It felt better than she remembered, even the short separation too long for her. “I have no idea. I’m not mad at the change, though I can’t help missing my natural shade.” Perhaps she’d make up for it with green makeup? “I’m not sure, but I’d say we’re safer here than we were in Oz.”

Fiyero embraced Elphaba, holding her close against his body. “I’ve miss you so much. I was starting to think the worst.” He would be lying if he didn’t miss the green shade just a bit. “Doesn’t seem like you without it. As long as you don’t become vain, though, I’m sure it’ll work out.” He agreed with her final statement. For some reason, them being normal, felt like it was just them for once and not a forbidden thing between two entirely different people.

Elphaba shook her head, pulling a grin when she saw his face and the everything else seemed to fall away for a moment. “No, and until I saw you I wondered if this was all some elaborate scheme of the Wizard’s.” Something she hadn’t shared with anyone she’d met for fear it was true. “But I doubt he’d grant me your presence. Then again, I suppose the lack of green should’ve tipped me off to that.”

“I’m sure that if the Wizard had anything to do with this, I would still be full of straw.” He stepped closer to the witch, arms outstretched for her. “Elphaba, what happened to your color?” He thought she was beautiful regardless of her green pigment but she could fit in now. “Do you think we’re safe here?”

It couldn’t be that simple, finding him wandering the streets just as she had a few days prior. And yet, Elphaba couldn’t stop her approach. “Fiyero…?” It was hard to tell from behind, and it had been a while since she’d seen him as anything but a scarecrow, but something in her heart told her this had to be real.

Fiyero had no idea what this place was but he was blissfully aware that he was no longer stuffed with straw. He was human again and he couldn’t believe it. He kept finding himself searching his hands for an answer of some sort. How did he even get here? He had a feeling he wasn’t in Oz anymore. A familiar voice brought him back to the present. “Elphaba? Did- did you do this?” He was talking about the place they were in and him being human again.
