He was different. She could feel it in her bones. This wouldn’t be an easy kill that would be just a way to get the urge out of her system. Or a revenge killing for let her dumb target escape her. It would be an actual fight, which was fun in its own way. She hadn’t met someone who could be considered an opponent in what must be years and she missed the thrill she would surely find today. However, she knew how this would end. It wouldn’t be her body bleeding onto the leaves.

However, she couldn’t linger on this too long, because she had to be fast with him. Because he was fast, maybe ever faster than she was. She did have to be careful and focus on him. And finding his weaknesses. Her yellow eyes darted over him in the instant he took to react to the anomaly that was hyuna, and her claw. However she couldn’t afford to lose another, so a long distance fight was impossible here.

Suddenly, hyuna realized her error. She shouldn’t have bothered with trying to process and think about her actions. She should have just acted. Because faster than she could take a breath, he had her pinned to a tree. His hot, rancid breath rolled across her face and she struggled against his grip, but uselessly. He was stronger than her.

She saw in his eyes that if she didn’t act now he would kill her. She was restrained by her shoulders, limiting her range, but he was close to her. Just close enough, in fact, that she might have a plan of action. She saw him lunging for her neck and took the opportunity to head butt him before aiming a swift kick upwards, hoping to just connect with skin. She was praying it would loosen his grip enough to wiggle free.

Hyuna was fake to her core. Two faced was a perfect way to describe her and she knew it. But she didn’t care much about the opinions of others anyway. All she cared about was their possible usefulness. Were they rich? Influential? Mutant? If she could foresee a future where she could possibly need them to benefit her in some way, well they would see a very kind side of hyuna. But if they were deemed useless, then she was completely okay with them knowing the cruel, cold-heart truth of her personality.

Unless she was at work. She needed the cover job too much to be herself while she was there. And so, as she stood behind the counter of the tiny coffee shop, her eyes flicked from person to person lazily, trying to read which ones she should try to befriend. But today, she had to admit, she simply didn’t care enough to scope out potentially helpful allies. And sure, today could be the day where the most amazing mutant walked into her shop and she would be missing that opportunity. But she didn’t care. For the most part, hyuna didn’t need all that much help.

Most people were just assurance.

I dunno— I could sleep or something— ( `he still treads along the sidewalks, his mind in a million and one places, not entirely registering most of what was going on— he’d sure he’d probably think about it later, but not right now, as he spoke up again though, he could feel a little twinge in his chest. ‘how old do i look?’ is always a trick question, no matter what. he took a moment to look over at her again, walking up the steps of the building and looking away, cheeks still rather flushed, trying to think of the right answer )

Okay so— firstly, I’m 18— but I’m turning 19 soon! ( `there’s a brief moment where he wonders whether or not she would believe him— especially since some people still mistake him for being 12 ) But uh. You look older, and since you drink… ( `what would be the least insulting age? girls liked to be seen as younger, right? ) … maybe… 21? 22? Something like that. ( `he continued bounding up the stairs, and for a moment he contemplated making the whole never-seeing-boobs-ever confession, ultimately deciding against it as he travelled up, letting out a bit of a breath and scratching the back of his neck, he felt a bit exposed with his whole upper-body open, but he was more comfortable than having the lady exposed instead. ) It’s okay— I mean, I kinda… melted your shirt. (/hyuna smiled at him, secretly wishing to herself that she could just leave him alone in her house. unfortunately she had far too many weapons that were not properly hidden in a way that he couldn't accidentally stumble upon them. and he would never trust her if he happened across her expansive store of murder devices) no, no! how rude would that be! I'll just make something to eat for the both of us or something!

(/when his age came out of her mouth, hyuna was taken aback. she knew he was young, but.. 18? he was still a minor! a minor she was five years older than no less. he was a little boy in her eyes and yet, here she was, seducing him. she really had no shame. chuckling a bit, she shrugged) so the age difference isn't that bad. thought i must admit, you are starting to make 23 seem old. (/she teased, hoping her age wouldn't freak him out. maybe she could aim for the "older sister" type of relationship)

lost and alone `siren

hyuna wasn’t the exploring type. if she had to go somewhere unfamiliar, she always had her phone out so she could look at a map. she didn’t like being lost or just exploring. her time was too valuable for that.

unfortunately, hyuna had somehow managed to forget her phone at home today. and she was hopelessly lost. most of the city was well known to hyuna, considering how much time she spent living on its streets. but her memory was not perfect, and the places that she rarely visited in her later years were fuzzy in her mind. she turned down random side alleys she thought she remembered only to find herself more lost than before. and no one she ran into looked like they would be willing to help her.

and by that she meant she had run into one man who, when she approached him, tried to rape her. his body was now lying, discarded, in some side alley. but that wasn’t her problem, he should have tried to rape her.

however, now she was still utterly lost and she had yet to find another living soul in this rundown area of busan. she could see why it wasn’t a frequently visited area, by her or anyone else. it was definitely one of the hardest hit areas, which she could tell but the general state of everything in this area. and honestly she just needed help getting back to familiar areas.

because of a bouquet `grey

hyuna had never cared much for flowers. they were too much of a romantic gesture for her to be interested in them. not to mention they died after a few days in water and got their petals everywhere. they were a huge mess than hyuna rarely liked dealing with. and for a period in her life, she always had bouquets littering her home. so much so that visitors had got the impression that she enjoyed flowers. in actuality, she just had a publicly listed address and some very creepy suitors. she had since had her name stricken from phone books because she didn’t want to cover her house in mismatched flowers anymore. not to mention that despite her hatred of flowers, hyuna hated throwing away a live bouquet.

so, when she received a bouquet of carnations on her doorstep on day, with absolutely no note attached, she as furiously. she angrily shoved the flowers into a vase, filled it with water, and tossed on a pair of shoes. the flowers did indicate their origin on them and hyuna intended to find this shop. if she pressed the owner enough, she was sure she could find out the culprit who send her their awful flowers.

she didn’t even like carnations.

a map of busan told her that the store wasn’t too far from her, only one subway stop from her house. making her way their quickly, hyuna stormed into the store, bouquet wrapping in hand. she was fortunate to find that no one else was in the shop at the moment. stomping to the counter where a timid looking young boy was standing, hyuna slammed the plastic wrapping with the stores name on it on the counter. “i demand to know who send me flowers,” she snapped, looking at the boy with dangerous eyes.

“i-i can’t tell you. if the sender chose to stay anonymous, we have to respect that choice,” he stammered clearly terrified of hyuna. in one swift motion, she was over the counter and shoving the boy into the back room where she pushed him against the wall. shoving her forefinger under his chin she slowly pushed her claw out of her finger and into the soft flesh of his chin. her eyes flashed their dangerous yellow as the scratches on her cheeks took form.

“are you sure you can’t tell me? are you willing to give your life for this?” she hissed, glaring at him. she could see him sweating heavily, as fear took hold of him. “y-you won’t k-kill me,” he stuttered out. like lightening, hyuna sent her claw out, killing him instantly. she retracted it, letting the body hit the floor. she intended to just look through the records herself when the ringing of the bell on the door alerted her. she quickly pulled the apron off her victim and finding it had no blood on it, tied it on herself and hurried out front with a broad smile.

hyuna’s favorite pass time, aside from killing people, was drinking. and she drank nearly every night she wasn’t on the job. some would call her an alcoholic. but she liked to remind herself that she could easily stop whenever she wanted to, seeing how she stopped at the drop of a hat when her line of work called. not to mention she hadn’t spent a dime on alcohol her entire life. pretty girls got free things in life, which was a universal truth hyuna had learned when she was still very young.

tonight was just another display of this rule in action. like most nights, hyuna had taken residence in one of the barstools at some sleazy bar. surrounding her were numerous average looking men, none of whom really appealed to her. but, they were paying for her to get drunk, hoping they’d get lucky, so she would allow them to hover around her until she found someone she deemed good enough for her time. hyuna cared about all of one thing when it came to other people: their usefulness. so if they had a wallet full of cash, hyuna would lead them on for as long as she liked.

however occasionally, if she thought someone was good-looking enough to be worthy of her time, she might just let things happen as they did.

and it seemed tonight hyuna would find one of these such men.

he was sitting not too far from her at the bar, sitting with a few friends himself. she had caught a glance of him when he came in and had decided almost immediately that she would see how far her looks would get her. she watched him sit down and waited a good amount of time, at least half an hour, before pushing her way through her obnoxious crowd of suitors, making her way over to him.

“hey, mind if i join you?” she cooed, placing her hand on the seat next to him.

For hyuna, it was just another ordinary day at the coffee shop. With her long black locks tied behind her, her apron tied around her waist and a smile plastered on her face, she worked. And when hyuna worked, it was for long hours. It was amazing hyuna found any time to sleep, between spending all day at the shop and all night either drinking or tracking. But she managed comfortably, finding she didn’t need many hours of sleep to function perfectly. She was fortunate in this way. Three to four hours was all she needed and she was off.

The heat of the day did nothing to deter customers from piling into the tiny shop to get their iced coffees and pastries to curb their mid-morning hunger. A common stop for many on their way to work, La Fleur was busy from the time it opened to the time it closed. Hyuna found that customers particularly enjoyed the open feel the shop had due to all the windows. Sitting on the third floor of some larger building, it actually offered a nice view of the city, making it a popular choice amongst both Koreans and foreigners. The tables closest to the window were especially popular.

Hyuna had learned all this through all the years she had worked there by just people watching. She found that as much as she despised other people, that she enjoyed watching them. Watching them blunder and mess up, and learning about commonalities certain types of people all shared. It helped her win people over and to predict the actions of those she tracked. She found that people were so very predictable.

( `don’t look— don’t look, don’t look— he continuously had to repeat that phrase over and over to himself as he focused on her face, admiring the makeup, then the hair, and then— no, he had to stop. he quickly nodded when she offered to take him to her place, figuring it was what he wanted in the first place, anyways. a place to stay for the night— then he can go back to his dorm tomorrow… and maybe take care of his little hormone issue then, too. ) Yeah— yeah, I mean, you can still go out! I just need a place to sleep.

( `he began heading along the streets, making sure to walk ahead so he wouldn’t have to look at her, he did notice that people were casting gazes their way, and immediately he stopped in his tracks ) Oh— yeah. Miss Hyuna-ssi. I’m Park Jimin— ( `he lets go of her hand only briefly, sliding his tank top off of his frame and holding it out to her ) Uh— you know, you should maybe probably put this on. ( `and he’s caught again, this time the temptation proving too strong, staring straight at the perfect rounds on her chest, the way the bra fit perfectly around it— he’d never seen them before in real life, only in movies and on the internet, but they were right there and— no. he quickly looked away, blushing rather profusely, clearing his throat ) Uh— sorry, um. It’s sorta… distracting.

(/she smiled at him but shook her head at his small comment) what kind of person would i be if i just left you in my apartment alone for hours. not to mention i'd come back too drunk to be proper. (/she giggled a bit as she continued to nudge him in the direction of her home, not letting him out of the situation she had wrangled him into)

miss- jimin how old are you? (/she asked chuckling) or rather, how old do I look? just call me hyuna (/she offered, really disliking the miss being tacked on. it made her feel old somehow. and it made her feel like she was far too old to be seducing this boy. which was probably true, he looked rather young. but if she put that out of her mind, it didn't seem so bad. she hoped she could just forget his age for as long as she needed to)

ah- (/she took the tank top with a look of surprise plastered onto her face. she had a feeling he was more or less uncomfortable with her boobs hanging out, but she was determined to make him get over it as quickly as possible. having his gawk at her would only make her feel more weird about the whole scenario. still, she smiled and slipped it on, having the stretchy material cling to her figure all the same) sorry, i didn't mean to make you uncomfortable. there is no need to feel that way though (/she added as she took his hand and guided him up the steps of her building. it was thankfully close to where she had found him)

( `the hug suddenly catches him off-guard, and he starts to solidify once more, stiffening a little— and now the things he was trying so hard not to look at were now pressed against him— and he had made it his life goal and purpose to not let pent up teenage hormones ruin his life, he hesitantly wraps his arms back around her skin— making sure he wouldn’t touch any fabric on the way ) Oh— hey… yeah… I was a human until like, a couple months ago… so… 

( `and then she pulls away, and he’s caught with an incriminating stare directed straight at her chest— it was unintentional, the height difference, he says, he coughs, chokes on air, and quickly looks away, staring at her face ) Wait— sorry! I didn’t mean to I mean— yeah uh. ( `she seems nice enough— or maybe it was because the sight of boobs completely wiped his memory clean of everything that just happened, he can only nod, his voice cracking ) Oh what— yea— yeah! (/she could see the boy was scared senseless by her threats, but she didn't care. his death would mean nothing if he was only human. the only thing she cared about was finding out either way. she pressed her interest, refusing to move until he proved himself one way or the other. she completely ignored his babbling and didn't even notice the slight change in his skin)

(/until her shirt was running down her body in the form of some liquid she couldn't identify. she instantly pulled her hand away from him, pulling her claw back and reverting her to her normal self, minus the shirt. she stood there in awe, in nothing but her bra and a tight skirt, as the boy started to liquefy himself. Her eyes grew huge as she quickly changed her whole demeanor to prevent him from completely dissolving into a puddle. she deemed him useful) hey hey, don't panic (/she cooed, wrapping his melting body in an embrace, pressing her bare skin against him. it wasn't like she hadn't noticed the way he stared at her. and since she thought his mutation could help her, she would do anything he liked to solidify his alliance)

i'm just afraid of humans. i didn't want to let one stay with me for the night. i promise i won't hurt you. you are like me, and i vow to protect people like me. (/she whispered soothingly, hoping it would calm him down. because it was partially true. she wouldn't hurt him, and she would protect him now) i know you aren't a pervert. it was just an accident right? (/she asked, pulling away so she could look at his face. she smiled kindly at him, hoping she could convince him to come back to her apartment) don't be scared sweetheart. i'm going to protect you now, and make sure you get back to school safely. please, trust me.
