So what if a few people have to die?
That’s show business, baby!
"Ah, the frost child. It's been ages since we saw each other, and I have to wonder if you still hate me, if the Guardians have brainwashed you entirely."
“Brainwashed is a strong word coming from the lady who psychologically messed with me,” Jack eyed her warily. “What brings you outta your hole of despair?”
“Oh whatever,” she says, rolling her eyes.
“And for your information, my lair is not underground, not to mention I’ve been out traveling to other galaxies. I just happen to be back in this one, gracing you all with my presence~”
“I jumped down a hole to get there though?” the sprite reasoned. “A hole in the Earth?” He figured he shouldn’t waste breath arguing with the egotistical villainess. “Anyway, what are you going on about, traversing galaxies? I thought your galleon was royally wrecked ages ago?”
“Maybe you should understand that there are other versions of myself out there, and that there are many different dimensions within the universe. And do you think I don’t have enough Fearlings, Nightmare Men, and Dream Pirates to have built a new one in a fairly quick amount of time?”
“Come on, Jack, you’re smarter than that.”
"Good evening Toothie, I'm sure you've just been missing me every waking moment that I've been away~" she coos, smirking all the while.
“Your surety failed you, I’m afraid.”
“So sorry to disappoint.”
“I am… just trying to survive with the horrid guilt that it was my fault that my family died. I know the Fearlings tricked me, but I fell for it, and because of that my wife and child died.”
“I don’t even know why I am letting down my barriers around you. And I realize I am horrid for the things I’ve done. The lives I’ve taken. Because of me Aster has no family left. Yet, I know how terrible it feels to lose your loved ones. I have so much hatred coursing through me, and sometimes I want it to go away, other times, I refuse to let it go. For, what do I have left without my hatred?”
She was being open. Open and so very honest. It took Tooth a moment to let that truly sink in. And damn it all if her heart didn’t go out to even Pitch in such a state.
“I really don’t know what to say…” And she didn’t. Of course she had hatred for those who so badly wronged her, but Tooth wasn’t eaten alive by it. “Pitch, if you want to know who you are without the hatred, you have to let go of it. At least most of it. That’s difficult to do, but- It’s really the first step you have to take.”
“I just. How incredibly fucked is it that the ones who destroyed my life, my family, my very body and soul are now my allies, my army? It’s almost like a strange case of Stockholm Syndrome, because part of me doesn’t ever want it to stop.”
“This is... my life. This is who I am. The Golden General I once was will never come back. She died eons ago.”
She didn’t care about taking the Tsarina’s son for any reason, that time has long since passed, instead she was more interested in the Tsarina herself. With her hands behind her back she walks over to her, looking her over, sizing her up.
“Where have I been? Well, I had other things I needed to do, other galaxies that I needed to explore. The cosmos are vast, as you would know, so why would I stay cooped up in this one? Granted it is the one I am most familiar with, but I’m not going to stay here all the time.”
“Dare I say I am quite popular in other galaxies.”
The feeling of being so… obviously evaluated recalled a faintly familiar feeling within Tsarina Lunanoff, the memory of having once navigated a political landscape under immense scrutiny. Did she still have it in her to cater to all the posturing and preening that was required to keep one’s head above the water (so to speak) ? Inwardly, the Tsarina groaned. If the Nightmare Queen still wanted to play such games, she supposed it was necessary to follow suit. Anything to keep the attention off of her son and his Guardians. Let them carry on in peace; she would entertain this meddler. Regardless of her annoyance, Tsarina Lunanoff actually found humor in Pitch’s claim, and she smiled with amusement.
“Oh? And how does it feel to be ‘popular?’ Has fame changed the great Nightmare Queen?” she asked.
“Fame? Do you think I’m talking about being a celebrity or something of that sort? Oh honey,” she says with a snicker.
“That is not what I meant.”
“In any case, I’ve been reconnecting with your precious little Guardians. It’s been amusing to see their reactions when they have obviously, and foolishly, thought they were rid of me. Please. You’ll never be rid of me. The light is not the only omnipresent and immortal force in the universe.”
Oh how she would love to wipe that smirk off the other woman’s face. The Lunanoffs have always been thorns in her side, the Tsarina most of all. The Tsar, for the most part, seemed to be a giant pushover. The Tsarina; however, was a different story, and Pitch knew that if it wasn’t for her the Lunanoff dynasty would have crumbled long before she became the Nightmare Queen.
[ cream and honey ]
{ @asktheravenclan }
Pitch came into the room with a tray of tea, sugar, cream, honey and two teacups for her and her guest. It wasn’t often that Pitch was this hospitable, but she could make some exceptions. There are a handful of people that she enjoyed the company of. “Help yourself, of course. I’ve been drinking more tea over wine these days to soothe my ever present aggravation over, well, everything. Being the arch nemesis of so many tends to do that. So, tell me, how have you been fairing?”
“Thank yah.” Morgana replied as she reached over to pour the tea. “Well, Ah’d shacked up wit’ another Death God, had a little girl named Allie, got inta a few messes, shacked up wit’ a creature known as a Maia, an’ had a little boy named Lochlan.” She smiled. “Basically, busy. Allie grew at a normal rate, so she’s ‘bout thirteen… but Lochlan may grow slower. Just ‘cause Ah’m not sure how Maia and Fae genetics mix.”
She chuckles a little bit.
“Well, well, sounds like someone has been busy~ I’m glad to hear that you’ve been getting around. I daresay I’ve been doing similar things, but keeping it childless for now.”
“We do have different ruling situations, Pitch.” Morgana reminded her. “Ah have people who would love ta see my Court fall, so a lot of children is a necessity.” Taking a bit of sugar for her tea, she sighed. “An’ my sister has already given Allie iron poisonin’…”
“I didn’t say that we didn’t, I am merely stating a fact. Not to mention, do you know how many enemies I have? I destroyed the Golden Age. I killed the ruling Tsar and Tsarina. I brought darkness upon the Earth the likes many had never seen before, so, many people would love to take my kind out as well.”
She quirks a brow at that last statement.
“So she killed them?”
fearlingdevil:
“It will be all right, dear. All of this will pass, and it won’t matter anymore. Trust me, as annoying as this may be, you’ll make it through. Have you talked to Tooth about them pestering you?”
Buries his nose more into Pitch side “No I haven’t, I mean its not too bothersome just annoying sometimes”
She pets his feathers lovingly. “Well that’s good, but if it does get too bothersome, you need to tell her. She is your other mother and her mini fairies shouldn’t bully you.”

"Good evening Toothie, I'm sure you've just been missing me every waking moment that I've been away~" she coos, smirking all the while.
“Your surety failed you, I’m afraid.”
“So sorry to disappoint.”
“Don’t look at me like that, I told you I knew from experience as well. I know what I’ve done, what I didn’t do, what I could have done.”
She takes a deep breath before settling herself down.
“Because nothing I am doing is working. And I would do anything to have my wife and daughter back, but that won’t happen and so I kill and maim and destroy.”
“We both share that sentiment.” But it still didn’t explain why. Pitch suddenly asking these questions out of nowhere, it was beyond strange.
Tooth was quiet for a moment. “…Nothing you’re doing is working… What are you trying to do? You just said so yourself, you can’t bring people back. So- What kind of answer are looking for from me?”
“I am... just trying to survive with the horrid guilt that it was my fault that my family died.
For, what do I have left without my hatred?”
fearlingdevil:
“Oh my god,” she says snickering. “I’m so sorry, you poor thing. Come here, and let me hug you.”
Huffs before trudging over to mother, wrapping arms around her waist burying his face in her clothing.
“It will be all right, dear. All of this will pass, and it won’t matter anymore. Trust me, as annoying as this may be, you’ll make it through. Have you talked to Tooth about them pestering you?”
"Good evening Toothie, I'm sure you've just been missing me every waking moment that I've been away~" she coos, smirking all the while.
“Your surety failed you, I’m afraid.”
“So sorry to disappoint.”
“Tch. Honor.”
Honor and duty are what took my family away from me.
“What good has it really done you? And just because he was good at one point, doesn’t take away his evil deeds. Again, I know from experience. No, we’re not. I want to know what you did with all that anger. And I sincerely doubt it was completely quelled, so allow me to ask in present tense. What do you do with all that anger?”
She spoke as if she had a right to judge a Monkey on his misdeeds when she herself was a Queen of Nightmares. Tooth let out a deep breath through her nose. If you hadn’t have employed the fool in the first place this all could have been over and done long ago.
She came up with a few answers. But at the rate this conversation was going, Pitch wouldn’t accept them. Tooth turned to face her with a hard look and a question of her own. “Why do you so badly want to know?”
“Don’t look at me like that, I told you I knew from experience as well. I know what I’ve done, what I didn’t do, what I could have done.”
She takes a deep breath before settling herself down.
“Because nothing I am doing is working. And I would do anything to have my wife and daughter back, but that won’t happen and so I kill and maim and destroy.”
fearlingdevil:
“What are you talking about?”
“The babyteeth keep laughing at my voice cracks!” high pitch voice crack at then end of that sentence.
“Oh my god,” she says snickering. “I’m so sorry, you poor thing. Come here, and let me hug you.”
"Good evening Toothie, I'm sure you've just been missing me every waking moment that I've been away~" she coos, smirking all the while.
“Your surety failed you, I’m afraid.”
“So sorry to disappoint.”
Pitch saw her bristle. She knew this was a sensitive subject, and that was partly the reason she wanted to bring it up.
“Oh come off it. There are heroes and good guys killing others every day, I know from past experiences. Sometimes that is what has to be done. That bastard deserved to die for what he did. Why didn’t you just do it? And I don’t want to hear any of that goodie-two-shoes spiel about vengeance won’t bring your loved ones back, I know that rather personally as well.”
Tooth crossed her arms, gripping tight to subtly release some frustration. So what if other people killed? It didn’t mean she had to! Being experienced with the swords didn’t automatically mean you had to take life.
“I did it out of respect of my Fathers memory. That was his best friend for half his life. And Father didn’t want him to die by the hands of the Sisters of Flight. I honored that. Are we done now?”
“Tch.
“Oh you just rustle my parsnips”
“What are you talking about?”
"Good evening Toothie, I'm sure you've just been missing me every waking moment that I've been away~" she coos, smirking all the while.
“Your surety failed you, I’m afraid.”
“So sorry to disappoint.”
“Do whatever you want, sweetheart.”
“I just wanted to see you, Toothiana. You’ve always intrigued me, the anger that you have pulsating inside you. The way you nearly killed the Monkey King, I wish you would have just done it. He deserved to die, did he not?”
Tooth felt herself bristle and stubbornly turned away. This was not a subject she liked to have approached. For multiple reasons.
“That is neither here nor there. I don’t care for having blood on my hands, if it’s all the same to you.”
“Your surety failed you, I’m afraid.”
“So sorry to disappoint.”
“They just are~ I don’t need to come up with them.”
“Because I’m the only one with any sense around here apparently.”
“I very much beg to differ.”
A sigh as she eyed her uninvited guest. “Was there something you wanted?”
“Do whatever you want, sweetheart.”
“I just wanted to see you, Toothiana. You’ve always intrigued me, the anger that you have pulsating inside you. The way you nearly killed the Monkey King, I wish you would have just done it. He deserved to die, did he not?”

“Your surety failed you, I’m afraid.”
“So sorry to disappoint.”
She shrugs, “Suit yourself, but you would have been better off if you had thought of me~”
“Anyway, I assume you and yours have continued to be little pests.”
“And how exactly do you come to such outrageous conclusions?”
“You’re the only one who would put it that way but yes. Of course we have.”
“They just are~ I don’t need to come up with them.”
“Because I’m the only one with any sense around here apparently.”
