Hi everyone, I was hoping I wouldn’t need to make another of these posts yet but Cider, one of my rescued mice, is feeling very poorly and needs vet work. If anyone is able to donate anything towards her next vet appointment I would be so appreciative as she needs a radiograph and between the apppintment and radiograph it will likely be between $200 and $250, on top of the ~$250 I have already spent on her for her medicine and previous vet appointments. I have asked for an estimate for the exam and radiograph so will provide that once I hear what it will be. Please share this post! ❤️
Cider is a month away from her second birthday- a senior mouse. She was rescued off of Craigslist, being sold because the daughter of the man who bought her got bored of her. She lived in a tiny cage and was desperate for love and attention after living alone for the first year of her life- mice are extremely social and should not live alone. She was beyond happy living with her new friends when she joined my other two rescued mice, Oats and Smore.
She has loved life and is my heart mouse, the best girl I could ask for. She’s been to her third vet appointment in her life now for breathing issues and needs a fourth. First she had a minor respiratory infection that was resolved, and then she started breathing very deep only a few weeks later. She was seen the next day, and started on new medication, but has only gotten worse. Her breathing is very deep, and her belly is distended. The only option left to figure out what is wrong and if I can help her is to do a radiograph, which will be very expensive. I will do it no matter what as she deserves it, but $500+ is a big hit to my bank account and until I graduate college next semester I don’t even have the option of a job to earn it back. I already spent $150+ on her previous two exams for her URI. Oats, her senior friend, has a mass that may need to be checked out as well so these girls have not been giving me a break.
