I came to talk about a serious matter.
Onigiri Ramen was on hiatus because we wanted to reopen the site as a big community for SasuNaru/NaruSasu/KakaNaru fans. In this community would have space dedicated to support the ficwrites and artists to post their works in an exclusive site for Naruto. In addition it would be developed group activities that would be integrated with doujinshi posts.
Unfortunately this week the Yaoi-sei group ignored our reupload warnings and added our doujinshis to their own site and added it to My Reading Manga without our agreement.
A member of our staff asked to remove the content, but our request was not granted.
In addition to re-uploading our files, Yaoi-sei also added its own credit page to the files. But I make it clear that the only contribution that Yaoi-sei made to Onigiri Ramen was to contribute to the decision to close our activities definitely.
What Yaoi-sei believes:
“Complaints I came across recently often included, “you don’t ask for permission!”, well, that’s because I don’t need to ask for permission.
Besides, did the scanners/scanlators ask for the Doujinka’s permission? Just, what exactly makes you think that you have more rights than the Doujinka? What exactly makes you think that you have the power to control me? “

I will explain why permission is required for the last time (even because we will close our site anyway): our group works with partnerships with several restricted Chinese groups. The only thing they ask us is to not redistribute or upload to online reading sites.
When someone reuploads our doujinshis you cause us problems and cause us to break our agreement with these groups.
About doujinka’s permission?
I did not have enough money to buy the doujinka books. I asked my favorite artists to try to sell me directly and some were rude to the point of replying to me that they did not want their books in the hands of foreigners, others did not even answer me at all. All the forwarding services were expensive and I could not buy the doujinshis and it seemed that the doujinkas did not want my support because I was foreign.
When I got a better job and having a little money left I started collecting used doujinshis and to help people suffering from the same problem that I initially suffered I created the Onigiri Ramen … We translated into three languages so people can read and download the doujinshis without much difficulty.
Yaoi-sei’s petty excuse for his practice is the same as all others use to continue to protect themselves to continue using the work of others to promote.
“Ah, but Iara-chan, Yaoi-sei also does scans/translates!”
Every group has difficulty to translate and post doujinshis frequently. Yaoi-sei uses the work of others to promote themselves while it does not have any work ready to post.
In addition, Yaoi-sei is the typical redistribution group that tries to make groups of scans/translations to look like real villains. The groups that make the translations are actually the good guys, because they’re the ones who do all the shitty work!

Yes, but our online reader was open with all doujinshis to be read.
A member of our team innocently reminded Yaoi-sei of this fact and in bad faith they took the opportunity to download our doujinshis to redo the uploads (the intention was to keep the online reader even after closing our activities and adding almost 20 Doujinshis we had almost finished for the reopening of the site, but we changed our mind after see that our online reader was used improperly).
Well, I want to thank the people at MRM who saw the reupload notice and realized that the reuploaded dounjinshis was something wicked. Thank you minna!
Yaoi-sei is not the first site to commit such annoyance and will not be the last. And Onigiri Ramen was not the first and will not be the last to give up because of this regrettable practice.
