Anet teasing us with the promise of teasing new hairstyles.
Some odd glitches with pants been happening lately
Fel Pyretail -> Celaeno Alehound Fel was born into the flame legion, and with a strong affinity for fire magic, she wanted to train as a shaman. She tried to disguise herself to sneak into the flame fahrar with the boys her age, even going as far as burning all the fur off her tail to hide better. However, she was soon found out. She was spiteful and bitter and ran away from the entire legion because of it. Fel found her way to the Ash Legion and while she was a bit older than the rest of them, was placed in the fahrar alongside Feir and her growing warband. She eventually fit in with the rest of them, taking the name Pyretail. After the fight with Zhaitan, Fel broke away from the warband. Being in the thick of danger was much too stressful for her, not to mention the deaths of Verner and Vidamir was harrowing. She found her way to Lion's Arch, doing odd jobs around the city before meeting Aries. The two of them became fast friends, and settled into mostly doing dockwork before getting onboarded to a crew of pirates. She also started going by her new name, Celaeno. Celaeno and Aries quickly adapted and thrived at pirate life. Celaeno had grown adept with elemental magic, more than just fire, and proved a valuable member of the crew with her abilities. Unpredictable waters or a small storm blowing in against their enemies was certainly valuable. Although Aries' abilities in the kitchen were just as, if not More valued. Pirate life took the two of them further and further out to sea until eventually leading to meeting up with the corsairs out in Elona. One thing leads to another, and Celaeno and Aries find themselves among the Alehound corsair crew. While not captain yet, Celaeno has big goals for herself with the corsairs, and took on the name Alehound to cement her belonging with the crew. Aries opted for the name Chowhound to form their tiny warband among the crew, also because she prefers to making hearty meals to sober up the scallywags to actually fighting and plundering. Celaeno and Aries are definitely more than just friends, although the exact nature of their relationship is not clear. Celaeno can be a bit hot and cold, and gives Aries a lot of grief that she is still holding out hope of seeing her old friend again, and not willing to move on. Aries can't deny it. Celaeno's features a more dog-like, with floppy ears and a shorter tail. I also tend to draw her more pear shaped, since she had a hard cub-hood but is eating quite well in her current life. She's confident, can come across as friendly but is never trusting.
Kairos Springstep -> Kairos Mistwrought Kairos was born and raised Iron Legion and had a great relationship with everyone in her 'band. Until her warband got their paws on a copy of the newest ghostbore technology, and was set about modifying the rifle's ghost ending capabilities for siege artillery. One small mistake later, and suddenly Kairos is swept through the mists, awakening several years later in a matter of seconds, her whole warband either dead or moved on. After a bit of aimlessness and struggling to find her place in time, Kairos finds herself seeking out an old bandmate who is with the priory now. After recounting her brief memories of the mists, and telling him of the echoes and voices she occasionally hears, he points her towards the priory's research on Glint, and suggests heading towards Elona herself for some answers. After all, the Pact Commander's campaign out there has made travel much easier. He even offered her some grunt work with the priory, to facilitate the journey. So Kairos found herself in the crystal desert, not really finding as many answers as she wanted. Sure, there was the report on Rytlock having a similar experience in the mists, although he seemed to draw power from it where Kairos only heard far off voices that she could barely decipher. Helping the priory at least got her to do Something, and it was during a job out in Diviner's Reach that things changed for her. Nearby, Vlast had sacrificed himself to save his sister, and shattered across the land. A large shard of the dragon pierced directlty through Kairos's heart, reigniting her connection to the mists., and tethering her directly to the crystal dragon. After the commotion died down and people got treatment, Kairos noticed that the whispers and echoes had also disappeared. But replacing them was Vlast's voice. She was directly connected to his spirit in the mists, and while now he was finally free from obligation, he still had a connection that he could see into the living world through. The two of them connected and continue to grow together I love Kairos but as a character she's more of a vessel for how much I love Vlast. I want to explore his character more - does he want to find Glint out in the mists and confront her, or does he feel on some level that he failed her mission? Does he resent Aurene for having a support network that he never did? Or is he happy his sister is able to live the life he never could? And the season 4 stuff with Kralkatorrik invading the mists - was Vlast there!? Did he fight back? Or did he go far away, finally at peace and away from all this nonsense. The mists are so unknown, its a lot of fun to play with. With Kairos and Vlast's relationship, I like to think that he encourages her to follow a few steps behind the Commander and Aurene. Trying to watch from a distance, but also still harboring a resentment for her life. When I draw Kairos, while she's more on the scrawny side, she also seems to be much heavier. She has a deeper slouch, tends to drag her hands and tail. She also has a noticeable underbite. She has white stripes that are almost unnoticeable, but when she channel's Vlast's power they all glow green. She has a huge scar running down her back and chest from the initial crystal, and while the wound has healed, the tiny crystals around the edges seem to be spreading...
Nifty Shatterspine Probably one of my least developed characters, I'm not really sure where her story Starts. She's basically always been a gladium, never had a consistent warband, never had a place to call home. During the IBS Story she was all for Bangar's plans and got sucked into the Frost Legion. Just to find a sense of belonging. She's based off a Borzoi - I love drawing her but I just don't know where to go with her story. Love her anyway
Oops haven't posted in years lol My GW2 obsession comes and goes like the tides, maybe this time I'll be more active Might try to post some infodumps on all my charrs soon, as my older posts about them are a bit outdated now :3
Actually I love this bug I hope they never fix it
Chapter 3
[Note: Third, and as of right now, final chapter. I need to write more!! I really wanna keep exploring these characters.]
Chapter 2
[Note: Second chapter of Kairos’ story. I might change some parts in the future, but for now I’m just posting exactly as I had written it.]
Chapter 1
[Note: So I never actually posted this!!! I wanted to get back into writing about my character Kairos so I went back to re-read what I had written before. And I’m like, girl where’s the rest? So here’s the first chapter, or basically the introduction.]
I love drawing Feir. No thoughts head empty just drawing
Feir Swifttail: Ranger. My bestie. My silly rabbit. Feir is my main, the character I actually Play the game with, rather than just playing character creator and dressup with. Feir is Ash legion, can be stealthy when she needs to be but is usually not. She grew up in the fahrar in the sort of misfits group; those Charr cubs that were more prone to magic than using weapons and armor. Her primus' philosophy was "You'd be a fool to Trust in magic. You'd be a bigger fool not to use it." She learned the hard way that she was a Soulbeast when she was very young; normal cubs hunt for birds and tear their flesh. But Feir tore apart the very soul of the animal for herself. Ever since that incident, she's been a bit more birdbrained, and also grew some little wings. Not impressive enough to truly fly with, but strong enough that Feir's never worries about falling. At one point, her wings suffered from a branded attack while she was defending some young griffons, but since the death of Kralkatorrik she's been able to heal more. Now instead of shining with brand magic, her feathers shine qith whatever magic she's using. Usually they're golden from ranger magic, but will shine blue with druid magic or green from Soulbeast magic.
Feir also suffers from BHD (bad horn disease), a condition she was born with where her horns don't grow well, and are very brittle and break easily if they do manage to grow at all. So she has rings attaches to her horn-roots, and she can easily attach prosthetic horns. One of her best friends, Fjira Stonetail, works to make horn prosthetics, and Feir is one of her best customers.
Feir also loves Junundu wurms. She wants one so bad. She has experience raising pygmy devourers, and is researching if pygmy Junundu would be feasible. Anyone else who works with the siege wurms would probably think it's a dumb idea to try to raise a Miniature of a Siege animal. The point is that they're huge and dangerous, not household assessory animals.
More of my GW2 characters
Flyara: Warrior. My first gw2 character I ever made. 💕 Technically my canon commander, but she doesn't really have much backstory. Her hair was shocked pink from a haywire asura tech experiment, but she liked the color and continues to dye it since. Flyara is also one who trusts easily, but she also is incredibly vindictive if that trust is broken.
Dallis Burntfield: Engineer. Her family is technically flame legion, but she lives and works on the farm far out in the countryside. Dallis works alongside her parents and siblings, at least until her brother moved away to learn to be a flame shaman. The flame legion joining back with the other legions has not really affected her, since she has just worked with cattle her whole life, and never really had any desire to learn magic or join any war effort.
Auli Sightcleave: Necromancer. Auli is Fjira Stonetail's sister and also business partner. Auli uses her necromancer magic to find good bones and discarded metals to help Fjira make her horn prosthetics. Some say Auli has no respect for the dead, which she responds with "yea, they're dead. What do they care?" She also has bad eyesight, and uses her undead minions to help her see.
Kairos Mistwrought: Revenant. Kairos was an Iron Legion engineer, working on siege weapons with her warband. When her 'band got some sample blueprints for ghostbore technology, she was working on outfitting the new tech for larger scale cannons and had a bit of an accident, which sent her to the mists. Luckily, she came back unharmed, although a couple years had passed since the incident. With her warband dissolved, Kairos set off to learn anything she could about the mysterious voice that had pulled her back from the mists. Her research led her to the priory, and then later to the Crystal Desert. In the desert, during one of Balthazar's attacks, she had another close encounter with death when the fire god killed Vlast and his crystals scattered across the desert. Whether its because of her past experiences with the mists, or maybe the dragon still had a will to live, or maybe Kairos getting a direct hit through the chest with a crystal, somehow the two of them became entwined. Now with a dragon in her head, Kairos is more enthralled with hearing about his story, and also cool dragon magic they can do together.
I absolutely love writing about Kairos and Vlast. How does he feel, having been shackled by his mother's prophecies his whole life, fighting against his own kind to save the mortals that could never truly understand him? Does he feel a sense of relief, and freedom in dying, or does he want to cling to life to avoid Glint in the mists, knowing he failed her?
And I need to finish EOD expac!!
Getting back into GW2 makes me wanna draw my characters more~
Nifty Shatterspine: Revenant. A somewhat pathetic wet noodle of a charr. Her face is based off of a borzoi dog. After losing her warband and growing tired of being a gladium, she tried to join the ranks of charr going after Jormag. However, the ice and snow proved too much for her, and she never made it. She was saved by Aries, but her mind is clouded by the voices of the charr that succumbed to the ice around her. She feels guilty for surviving while so many did not, but constant care from Aries is helping her to realize that she still has life left to live.
Aries Wildfire: Guardian. She and her warband were tasked with finding any survivors in the icy mountains outside of grothmar valley. She found Nifty buried in the snow, barely alive. Aries decided to take her in and help care for her new best friend wet noodle, trying her best to keep Nifty safe even when she gets lost in her own mind. Aries also enjoys knitting and baking, and often jokes about being the friendly grandma of the group. She also attends events at the senior charr group, where she met Viscera.
Viscera Foulmouth: Necromancer. An older-than-dust Sphynx Charr' with an attitude worse than her breath. Viscera is followed by a thick cloud of ash, only partly because she is constantly smoking. She uses the ash for her dust fiends. Viscera spends pretty much all her time with the senior charr group, which is a little controversial. Some charr believe retirement is the cowards way out, because if you get old enough to consider retirement, you must not have been fighting good enough. Others argue that only the best fighters live that long. Viscera says to simply not die.
Rat Rustmouth: Thief. On of Viscera's great-(many many greats)-grandchildren. Another Sphynx Charr, they spend their time sneaking around and spying for their grandmother. It's good to have eyes and ears anywhere in the city. Rat also likes to collect anything of value, although their idea of value is a mystery to anyone else. They are also willing to trade information and gossip for shiny things, although who knows how true any of the gossip is.
Unnamed: Mesmer. Ok I haven't come up with a name for this character yet, but she's That's older sister. Another Sphynx Charr, she's a Mesmer but with Necromancer aesthetic. The dark colors and blacks and greens. She loves snakes and scarabs, and maybe her family is form the crystal desert area? Also she stands upright, not hunched like most Charr. She replies more on misdirection rather than outright lying. She wants to respect her elders, but also finds Viscera to be disrespectful to the dead for her disdain in joining them.
Love the new expac actually. I am fishing and boating. I am ignoring the fate of the world 🤪
Happy Dragon Bash everyone!
Page 3 of Meet the Warband: Fjira Stonetail. She may be ornery, but she has a good heart
Page 2 of Meet the Warband! Feir Swifttail, the rowdy and fun loving ranger. Probably my most played character (and whomst this blog is named after!)
