Her first instinct was to jump and startle as he touched her, but Agnes thought that part of herself -the animal that wanted to run, to hide, to lash out before she got hurt herself. And instead she took another breath, searching for the human she had once been, the child that allowed herself to be comforted in such a manner, that allowed herself to feel safe. And she nodded in reply. “I truly hope we will; I do not know what I shall do otherwise”, she closed her eyes for a moment, slowly but surely regaining a sense of self. “It is not just the journal though, I am not sure I can stay here much longer Felix” She had hoped, she had prayed. But in the end she was too scared of Ruthven to find a home anywhere. “And if my true nature is discovered… Thank you though, thank you for helping me”
Felix caught the woman’s arm. Her words were curious... and frightening. They had been through something that so few had in the last few months. He believed they had come to an understanding and he wasn’t going to let this go easily. He wasn’t going to let his first friend in centuries leave him. Not without a fight. “I think you are wrong.” He stated flatly. “Whatever it is... whatever your nature is. We will stand here together... in our home. I have made many mistakes also. I would stand beside you... you know that don’t you?”
