Rewatching Felicity this time around, the character of Julie reminds me so much of this girl from college. They both have the same set of fucked-up issues around basically every aspect of life--the deep-seated anger and resentment; the victim mentality; the insatiable need for attention that leads them to seek it in all the wrong places; the inability to maintain real, healthy relationships; the incessantly manipulative behavior; the seeming satisfaction she would get when she had something to hold over someone; the delicate, superficially saccharine front she would put up to hide it all; even the “alluring songstress” persona.

And the thing is, you knew that. You knew it, and you still pursued me. Because you want something with me. You just aren’t strong enough to have it, which in a way makes you a coward. And the saddest part is that one day, you’re gonna wake up and you’re gonna realize what you missed and it’s gonna be too late.  Ben: I don’t know what to say. Felicity: I know, it’s okay.
