you know, as popular as the ‘itachi can’t cook’ headcanon is, i can’t help but feel like, out of all the domestic shit itachi would absolutely fuck up, budgeting has to be the worst.

i mean, think about it. 

you’ve got this privileged-ass teenager who grew up as the heir to one of the oldest (and presumably one of the wealthiest, judging by the size of their family estate) clans in konoha. he probably made more money than most adult shinobi as an eleven year old ANBU.

ask yourself: when does a kid like that learn to handle money? 

the answer is never, because itachi is living like he’s going to die any day now, and why would a missing-nin who’s never gonna live to see thirty worry about saving up money? what’s he gonna do with it, retire?

kisame is constantly distressed because renting rooms and eating at nice tea shops (and buying dessert!) costs money and itachi does not give a fuckkk. 

itachi doesn’t bother haggling or bargaining when he shops and kakuzu may very well kill him over it.
