I couldn’t give a HOOT if it’s subtle hate-posting about another blog, or if you advocate Burn Book blogs and the like - if ANYTHING like this applies to you, please feel free to unfollow and softblock me, because as someone who has been a member of the RPC for over six years now, I have seen every side that the community has to offer, and to see petty nonsense like this continue is DISGRACEFUL.

We are all WRITERS and HUMAN BEINGS, engaging in a hobby that we all throroughly enjoy. I really don’t understand why some feel the need to drag others down instead of building them up. Spread LOVE, show KINDNESS, and display COMPASSION, and hopefully one day we will see an end to negativity in the RPC.

So you’re just collecting jokers on purpose ? You’re just trying to fetishize a WOC with all those sex tropes ? As a WOC myself I find this quite disgusting , since it always seems to be a popular thing to make WOC the „bad girls“ with a very active sexuality.

oh man, listen, this was never meant to be a thing. i really don’t want to do that, no. that is never an intention of mine. I am mixed race and would be horrified if I thought this was intended, too. Charity is just an individual character, in no way intended to generalise. I’m certainly not trying to collect anything. I’ve plotted with three jokers, two played by the same person, one fandomless based rp with an arthur/joker is romantic but the rest aren’t. but i also write and talk with a whole lot of other people too. the only reason I came back to tumblr was to write with my friend and idk maybe that was a mistake. I’ve been really enjoying my time here and fleshing charity out as a character. but i really don’t want anything massive out of this. perhaps you could come and talk to me about it so I can attempt to fix the problem of over-sexualising? because that is no way my intention. she HAS over sexualised herself because of her mother telling her it was the only way she’d get any form of accomplishment in life. I am sorry if this comes across as me just doing it for no reason, I really never want to offend.

You do know that your character is built upon tropes ? Loads of her story is harmful, humiliating and actually disrespecting to women and turning her into another serial killer just for the purpose of fitting into any Gotham based story is the cherry on top. I mean ? You should consider making her more balanced but just men’s plaything that cries for romantic ships and seems like a copy paste version of catwoman.

thank you for the constructive criticism, I’ll take making her more balanced on board. However she only has one romantic ship and I have stated in my rules that it is very hard to ship with her romantically (sexually, she is very active, and that is a thing people are). Let me explain. Charity’s main verse has nothing to do with Gotham or DC. she is a completely original character and I have done a lot of research into her psychology and her trauma. A lot of it has to do with her using her sexuality as a weapon, but everything has a reason. Her mother is a very big part of this. In her DC verse, the whole point of it is that it’s built on tropes. It’s supposed to be silly and she’s supposed to be irked that people think she’s a catwoman copy. I only ever made her DC verse as a bit of fun. It was never my intention to make her story harmful or humiliating to women in any way? This is one woman’s story. And like I said, I know this character and her mind. I’ve worked on her since 2017, since creating this blog, and her character has cause and effect throughout. But thank you for your notes, I’ll definitely take them into consideration.
