ⶠOlder Brother - Felix's brother that is 2 years older (would currently be 38). They both moved to Pinehaven in their late teens. Felix's older brother being 18 when they moved and likely missed their friends. They moved from a larger school so the small town vibes weren't really for them. ⶠSCHOOL â¶
ⶠFelix Navarro moved to Pinehaven from Southern California at 16.ⶠFelix and his older brother both went to the Learning Center, a huge change from the school he had previously gone to with over 2,000 students in attendance over the span of 4 grades.ⶠHe had a hard time adjusting to the changes, trying hard to find friends but he wasn't used to the small town life. He was often found hiding out in the library, reading books until late into the afternoon.ⶠHe found solace in the librarian who would recommend classic literature he had never read before, venturing into new worlds and planets.ⶠAs his piles of books grew, so did his love of writing. In his senior year, Felix began to explore his interest in journalism. He joined the editorial club, helping churn out 4 papers per school year. Felix took the fashion and culture section, exploring new trends both aesthetically and socially.ⶠFelix left Pinehaven for college, going to Columbia for journalism in NYC.
ⶠNYC â¶
ⶠFelix lived on the Upper West Side a few subway stops away from Columbia University. As he continued his journalism studies, he began interning for a magazine. The did a little bit of everything and Felix found himself gravitating toward the logistics over the stress of the editing floor. ⶠFelix met Angela while touring an apartment on central park west. She was training to be a licensed real estate agent and her boss hadn't shown up for the tour, so she went ahead and gave it herself. Felix did end up in the apartment and so did Angela. ⶠSoon after, they were married and expecting Juniper, their daughter. Felix got the lead editor position at his company and began working himself to the bone to provide for his family ⶠFelix ended up burning himself out and stepped down from the position to save himself from spiraling. Felix decided to move his family to Pinehaven to live a quieter life.
ⶠWANDERING ATLAS â¶
ⶠFelix decided to open his own publishing company Wandering Atlas to serve authors and artists native to Washington state. It wasn't New York City, but he preferred it that way. ⶠThey've published 50+ books in 4 years and have 2 magazines in circulation.
ⶠTHE END OF BEGINNING { FELIX / ANGELA } â¶
ⶠAngela was no longer happy living in Pinehaven, or ever for that matter. She desperately wanted to move back to nyc. The real estate scene was not booming in Pinehaven and she didn't feel like she had a reason to be there. She became increasingly hostile toward Felix and their relationship grew strained. ⶠAs things grew more tense in the home, Felix began working longer hours and sleeping in the vacant first floor unit of their two family home. He began slowly taking over the place with books and work, feeling guilty for taking a step back from Junie and his familial responsibilities.
ⶠNEW BEGINNINGS + BAD ENDINGS { FELIX / CLAIRE } â¶
ⶠFelix began seeing Claire Reilly one poorly thought out night. His distance from his wife was growing more by the day and she began traveling more to visit friends and began floating the idea of doing part time in the city. ⶠFelix was ready to let her do it, expecting to be Juniper's primary caregiver, but Angela takes off with Juniper too, leaving Felix behind to run his business in Pinehaven. ⶠAfter more time goes by, Felix continues to fall for Claire. Knowing his relationship is inevitably coming to a close, he works up the courage to file for divore. ⶠClaire doesn't like the idea and panics, leaving him to sort his life out on his own.
