Fletcher bounced Linden on the side of his hip, wearing a pair of glasses on his face. “Do you know if it is safe for babies to wear these glasses? Do you also think they’d look at the sun?” The boy questioned, furrowing his brows, concerned for his baby’s well being and being a clueless father. “Should I just take her home–what if she explodes?” A slight panic takes over the boy’s body as he glanced around. “I only came here to see the moon and to tell a bad joke–do you want to hear it?”
Felix’s brows furrowed as soon he heard the other male speak. Was-.. Was he actually serious? “I think a cute cap would work? You also have sunglasses for babies.” The young male allowed a smile to form on his lips which soon disappeared at his following words. “You actually think she’s going to explode?”
WILLOW:
“Enjoy it?” Willow said with a low chuckle, she came to the high school from time to time when the cheer squad ask for her help on little things, she liked being involved with something she had loved dearly when she was younger. “No but really, there’s not much you can do to stop it. Or you could get a fake girlfriend, they might leave you alone after that.”
He released a sigh and shook his head, brows furrowing before he murmured. “I’m not going to enjoy it. I probably never will, either. They’re the kind of girls who know as soon the guy has a girlfriend, they see it as a competition and I’m not looking forward to showering after practice and have one of them suddenly standing there. Hell no.”
LUCAS:
“Of course you did” Lucas said with an amused scoff before watching as Felix began to add an immense amount of sugar to his coffee. “You gonna need some coffee with your sugar or?” He joked with a smirk, “Honestly, I don’t see how either.”
“I don’t even like coffee, I don’t know why I ordered it,” Felix murmured softly, taking a sip from his now improved coffee. The taste was good now. He rolled his eyes as soon Lucas pretty much offended him, muttering. “You’re such a sweetheart, Luke. Any girl should be lucky to have you.”
MAI:
“Felix,” Mai gave him a small smile. She didn’t know if she should be pleased or more embarrassed that it was a familiar face. She and Felix went way back so she figured anything the younger man thought of her would already be set in stone and this run-in wasn’t going to change that. “Good to see you too. I just wish it wasn’t when I was dying from the torture that is running.” She huffed, shaking her head at herself. Looking him up and down slowly, she raised an eyebrow, realizing he was doing the same thing she had. “Is there some special trick that makes running not the worst thing ever? You know besides being athletically gifted.” She added, remembering how he was with football.
“Oh, come on. You’re fine.” Felix released a soft laugh, stretching his arms and legs to keep his muscles hot. If he would begin to run again with cooled muscles, chances are he would hurt himself and that would be a disaster for his job. His shoulders raised in a shrugging manner. “Keep yourself hydrated, drink enough water. Keeping your breathing under control works too.”
JILL:
“Kind of used to the attention?” Jill repeated, taking a sip of her coffee as she closed her laptop. “Not that kind of attention, though, some jackass like to think that anyone over sixteen will fancy their scrawny asses.” She mused, crossing her arms as she thought his problem through. She had work to do, but this was far too amusing. “Start carrying pictures of a random person? Pretending they’re your partner. Embarrass yourself in public.”
“Like, purposely drop pictures around those girls?” Felix asked the blonde, sipping from his coffee but he flinched when it was still too hot. He placed the mug back down and released a soft sigh, checking his phone if he could find any good pictures. Eventually he found one of a girl, turning his phone towards her. “Someone like her?”
RACHEL:
Rachel let out a hearty laugh, complete with a snort. “Me? Used to the attention? I think you got me confused with Sasha or someone else who works here,” she shook her head, her laughing growing quieter. “Look, you’re young, you’re cute, you’re around high school girls. They think getting a boyfriend is the most important thing they can do with their lives right now. You could always tell them you’re in a relationship. Better yet, tell ‘em you got a boyfriend,” she winked.
“B-boyfriend?” That seemed to startle Felix. It was almost like she saw right through him and his anxiety was starting to rise. He reminded himself that it was probably nothing and that she was just teasing. He released a soft laugh, trying to hide his nervousness. “Um, yeah. I just don’t have any picture to prove it. I know they’ll ask for pictures.”
LUCAS:
While Lucas hadn’t been in Hickory Creek for very long (just shy of two months), Felix was a face he had seen around Cohen Point whenever he was returning back to the inn after work. The kid seemed harmless enough, and after spending his entire life around biker guys who were rough around the edges and far more dangerous than anything in this town, the kid had grown on him. “Alright one word… jailbait” Lucas said with a smirk, “With all the illegal shit I’ve done, I wouldn’t want to add that to the list. Just stay away from them, tell them you’re really into Dungeons and Dragons or live in your mom’s basement, I’m sure that’ll solve that problem.”
“I played Dungeons and Dragons when I was like.. twelve or something,” Felix mumbled. He took a sip from his coffee, shaking his head a little as he placed the mug down on the table and began to add sugar stick after sugar stick. “I don’t see how they like me, really.”
“All these girls are constantly around me and it keeps me from doing my job... I’m the Assistant Coach, not some kind of new mysterious student who can’t wait to have a popular girl as his girlfriend.” Felix released a whine, lowering his head on the table before softly banging his forehead against the wood. He looked up, chin resting on the table as he muttered. “What do you think I should do? You’re kind of used to... the attention.”
Mai was sure she looked like a freak lying down on her back along the entirety of the park bench. The peeling paint was flecking off onto her sweaty skin and no doubt sticking to her new workout clothes. People strolled past her on the sidewalk but she was trying to remain focused on catching her breath. Her chest moved rapidly as she was only managing to take in short shallow breaths. Her legs felt like jelly. The run she’d just finished had been rigorous, maybe too much so. It was one of those days where she’d needed to burn off excess energy. She had the evening shift that day and was feeling antsy with nothing to do. As much as she hated running, it was something to do. She was now sorely regretting her decision. In her peripheral vision, she noticed a pair of feet had paused in front of her. She shot up quickly immediately apologizing. “Sorry did you need to sit?” She swung her legs around so she was sitting up properly.
Felix loved to run through the park before he would head to the high school for his new job. This was his routine ever since he finished college and got the job as Assistant Coach of the football team. Noticing the form of a young woman laying on the bench, he smirked softly to himself. She seemed tired, probably had been doing the same thing as him. As he jogged closer, he could recognize her now. Her name was Mai, they went to high school together. Felix was a smart one, he was the youngest of his classes but also the best. He stopped in front of her, looking down at her and released a soft chuckle as soon she sat up and asked him if he wanted to sit. “No worries, I’m good. It’s nice to see you again, Mai.”
