“I’m pretty high, but like”

“The Crimes of Grindelwald,” she repeated, trying to remember whether or not she’d seen it before. “No, I don’t think I have. Then again, I’m also not sure I even know what it is.” She would’ve remembered it. But from the sound of things, it wasn’t good. “What is it about?”
A deep sigh was released from his lips after she asked her question, and Felix slumped down a bit in his seat as if the weight of the subject was pulling him down. "Honestly, I'm not really sure? There is this established older villain named Grindelwald, the crimes of which are unsaid except for having his henchmen kill some people, and his goal seems to be to have some rally in Paris? And there are other characters doing their own thing, like one is supposedly special for some reason, and others are just... there? I'm sorry, I wish I could explain it better, but damn."

THE WORLD OF HARRY POTTER had always been a delicate subject to approach with the church but the tolerance seemed to have lightened up a bit over the last few years. He just hadn’t gotten around to catching up on them. A soft chuckle escaped from his lips, “Oh, it’s okay. They make fun of me for everything because I’m “Old and uncool” Airquoting for dramatic effect but the fondness in his tone showed that he wasn’t at all bothered by it. “Still it would have been a better idea to at least watch the first one first. They were all so impatient to see this one though so either way I couldn’t have won.” Peter couldn’t help the way his grin widened as he observed the other, “So passionate. I love it.” And he meant it. He could watch other people talk about their passions for hours at a time. “Were you a fan of the first one then? My day? Nothing exciting. Just work. I still have no idea what to do for my sermon Sunday…How about you? Please tell me you have something more fascinating to share.”
That tickled him a bit - Peter, old and uncool? “I’m sure, haha. I’m still sorry that was your first introduction to the Harry Potter universe, though. I, uh... thank you, man.” Felix looked out the window next to their little cafe table, pretending he was looking at the sky and not trying to hide the slight rosy tint that appeared in his cheeks. He always hated how he blushed so easily. “The first Fantastic Beasts? No, not really, mainly because there were so many different unconnected plot threads going on.” He looked back over at Peter. “At least you were productive! That’s always good. As for me, sadly nothing much. Just work this morning, and class.” Felix blinked suddenly, struck by an idea. “Hey, maybe your sermon can be about, like... expectations? Or disappointment, or trying new things or something. Seeing as that’s what we’ve been talking about this whole time,” he laughed.

HIS NOSE WRINKLED IN EMBARRASSMENT, a soft chuckle escaping from his lips, “Alright confession…I had NO idea what that was until my middle schoolers caught me up to speed with it a few months ago.” A hand went to tame blonde locks as he pushed them back, “They made fun of me for it and then insisted we had a group outing so I brought a group of them there…I was SO lost. I had no idea what was going on. I’ve never seen a Harry Potter film in my entire life and I hadn’t seen the first one. They told me I didn’t need to! Ugh those little liars.” But there was nothing but fondness laced in his tone, “Sorry, rant over. What was disappointing about it for you?”
The words caused the younger male’s eyebrows to raise a bit in shock, though he clearly should have known better - not everyone was a die-hard fan like himself after all. A few years back and he could have potentially seen himself as being one of those sassy middle-schoolers. “I’m sorry they made fun of you for it, and that you were so confused. I don’t blame you, really, because that story... yikes.” He couldn’t help but smile, seeing the clear happiness on Peter’s face talking about the experience. And the nose crinkle as he laughed... wow. “Don’t be silly, you weren’t ranting. It was all just messy, you know? The magic was off, the dialogue was weird, there were unnecessary backstories and characters. I could go on forever but I would really much rather hear about your day today, mister.”
cliolucas
“Didn’t that come out like two months ago?” Clio asked, her brows furrowing. “No, I didn’t, though. I’ve pretty much given up on everything with JK Rowling’s universe.” She rolled her eyes at the thought. It had been a long time there was anything good that had come out of the whole Harry Potter universe, it wasn’t worth it. “It didn’t even look good. Or maybe it was just my own bias against JK Rowling, and Johnny Depp. But, really, you shouldn’t have wasted your own time, man”
“I think so? It feels like been much... much longer, though.” Of course he had to pause for dramatic effect. “I’m pretty much aligned with your line of thinking now, to be honest. It’s all just trash now - thinking of those two makes it much worse. Do you recommend any good movies or TV shows you like?”
hayatsharif
“Oh, I definitely have. And I have so many opinions about it,” Hayat replied almost too quickly as if she had been waiting for someone to bring up the movie she had seen months ago. “It’s not a good film, is it? In fact, I don’t think I would even call it a film. It’s just… it’s a mess. Nothing makes sense and none of the characters seem like real people. You shouldn’t let an author who clearly doesn’t understand how screenwriting works be in charge of the script.”
Bless her. If there was anyone who could understand how wronged he felt, it was the awesome person sitting across from him. “Exactly! Those unnecessary twists about the Lestranges, and Clarence, and the unnecessary characters! What was even the point of making Nagini human if she wasn’t gonna do anything?”
lovedsaner
“No.” Jensen answered flatly. He sat back in his chair and watched the other as he spoke. “Why would that be a large let down to you?” Jensen questioned as he picked up his phone and googled the title of the movie. His eyes wondered over the IMDb article about it. Of course, Jensen wouldn’t know that it was connected to the large Harry Potter movies. He pondered for a minute what to say next and just ended up looking at the other.
Fingers were run through dark, curly locks of hair, to be pushed away from the gaze of the soft brown eyes below them. “It’s just that I’ve always been a huge fan of the books, and the whole lore and stuff, since I was a little kid. Seeing such a lame interpretation of it just disappoints me,” he sighed briefly. “You ever feel that way?”

Byron just shook his head at his friend as he kept sketching, some may have thought this was rude and maybe it was, but everyone who knew Byron knew he spent most of his time sketching especially when inspiration struck him. “ That is why I never went to go see it, I heard how bad it was and I did not want to waste my money on a movie I’d only be walking out on.” He replied as he looked at him.
"Good," Felix huffed with a little pout, pausing his little tirade for a moment to take a sip from his cup of coffee. "Like, how hard can it be to make a storyline that actually flows? ... Well, pretty hard, I guess. But... ugh. Maybe my standards were too high, you know?"
simonedunn
“It was so so bad. I don’t know what they think they’re doing with the Wizarding World, but I’m sick of it. They needed to just let Harry Potter be the only movie franchise and let everything else live in the books. I didn’t even like the first Fantastic Beasts movie to be honest.”
“Neither did I!” The young man’s sudden raised voice earned him more than one look from their neighbors at nearby tables. Not that he cared to notice. “I just couldn’t understand what most of the characters were doing, it was like they weren’t even real people. And that whole ten minute sequence in the catacombs where they were all just espousing their backstories... like, damn. Like, and what exactly were the crimes of Grindelwald? I know some from the book, but the movie gave nothing much, and... ugh, I’m sorry. I’m ranting again, huh?”
"Have you ever seen The Crimes of Grindelwald?" The question was one that had been borne of a topic burning in the young man's mind for several weeks now, one he hadn't yet recieved a chance to fully express. Though seeing as he and his friend had just sat down for lunch, now was as good a time as any - especially given the array of articles and videos he had ingest dissecting the lackluster film. Needless to say, he was a... rather disappointed fan. "Because let me tell you, seeing that movie was the biggest letdown of my life. Ever."
