Well, she certainly wasn’t expecting to run into another survivor in this part of town. Another herd of the undead, sure. A red flag immediately popped up —- anyone still standing nowadays was more of a threat to her than the walkers, especially those hiding out in places like this. Spotting the gun, she knew she wouldn’t have enough time to grab the crossbow off of her back to retaliate had he tried anything, though luckily she did have another concealed weapon in case he tried anything. “We’re not looking for trouble,” she stated, hoping he’d assume she wasn’t alone on this run. Putting that idea in his head might just give her a bit of an advantage.

“And neither am I,” he responded. The ‘we’ in that sentence made him a little on edge. Most people just said that to intimidate others and usually it wasn’t true, but it wouldn’t be a smart idea to automatically assume that she was lying. And even if there were others around, why should that bother him? He had no intentions whatsoever of hurting her.

About half a dozen walkers down, and not one goddamn thing to show for it. What she thought would be a decent loot turned out to be a near death experience. Fighting off crowds of the undead sure as hell was a lot easier when she had someone fighting by her side. Pushing through the door, dripping in just a little too much blood, Ava scanned her surroundings. Ever since she lost Brandon, she lost that safe feeling deep inside. What once was the comfort of knowing someone was near, now became the paranoia that someone was close.

Stalking, l u r k i n g, watching. Hunting.

Sure, being in the small group holding up at the radio station served as some sort of comfort, but that was just the thing. She didn’t trust any of them, and didn’t expect them to trust her either. Yet here she was, risking her ass in search of something sustainable for the lot. And not to mention, failing.

Felix had thought no one would come in here. Usually he never even saw any other survivors around this area so when he heard the sound of someone coming through the door, he didn’t even have time to hide out of sight. So instead, he moved his hand towards his gun, allowing it to rest just above it as he turned to look at the newcomer. He didn’t say anything, just observed her for a moment as he waited to see if she would speak.

Ivy gave him a small smile at his reply, relieved he seemed to mean no harm. “I.. I wasn’t.. I’m not really resting.. I twisted my ankle and.. it hurts to walk.” She explained, feeling utterly helpless which was not how she’d like to feel.

Felix nodded a little as she spoke. “Right... Well, where are you staying? Do you want me to help you back there?”

With only the clothes on her back and a single knife the girl had managed to survive up to three days all on her own in Cheyenne. As if would seem her luck had run out, when she twisted her ankle. Tired and lost the girl sat on the ground rubbing the painful spot, when she saw a shadow. Slowly she looked up. “If you’ve come to rob me.. the only thing I have left is my life..”

Felix shook his head a little. “I’m not here to rob you, don’t worry,” he spoke softly. “I came to see if you were okay. I wouldn’t really be resting here right now. You tend to get a fair few walkers around these parts sometimes.”

“You mind just turning around? I’m nearly done.”

“Oh- I’m so sorry. I didn’t realise,” he responded, promptly spinning around so he was facing the other way.

“There is truth in your words.” she eyes him carefully, normally she wouldn’t let anyone come this close. He was making sure her wound wasn’t bad, she had a way of finding an exit, should things no go so well.

Felix nodded and approached her. He was extremely cautious as he bent down to examine the wound on her leg, not really sure how trustworthy this stranger was right now. He preferred to give people the benefit of that doubt, but that didn’t mean that he was naive enough to let someone put him in a position where they could easily put a bullet through his head.

“If you think that it needs to be looked at.” if it wasn’t a serious wound, then she will be fine.

“Its better to be safe than sorry, don’t you think?” He asked as he approached her and bent down to examine her injury properly.

Pain. Glancing down at the small cut on her leg, she didn’t notice it until now. “No, I guess not.” she motioned to sit down.

“Do you want me to take a look at it for you?”

‘ who are you, my MOTHER? ’ huan scoffs, all but smashing her pen down. mostly, she had been working on a log of sorts, one that filed all her patients. maybe one day these records will be proof enough that they OWE her. ‘ i’ve lost more blood from a period than this, i think i’ll survive. ’ she has far too much pride to admit she had forgot about the injury altogether.

Felix just raised his eyebrows at her a little. “I apologise for being concerned,” he muttered in response. “It’s not the blood loss I would have been concerned about, it’s the risk of infection. But, whatever. Do what you want.”

“I didn’t want––” What was he saying? Felix didn’t care, it’s why he’d stopped caring so long ago. Why bother explaining anything anymore? “I’m just saying, Felix. You look more bratty than usual. Now, can you fix this so I can go back to being the family disappointment?”

“Didn’t want what?” He asked. “Well don’t just say. Even if I look it, at least I’m not the one here who’s acting like it.” Anymore. ”Well that depends. Are you going to carry on being a complete arse about it?”

Pandora shrugged, examining the cut once more. “Think I’ll have to amputate?”

“Not as long as you make sure it doesn’t get infected.”

“Don’t tempt me,” the younger Pines muttered, holding his arm out for his brother. “Have you done something to your hair? You look…different. Your outfit gives off this vibe that you take it hard up the arse and your daddy pays for your education. Bang on, I suppose.”

“Why not? If you want to do it, just do it Dalton. Nothing’s ever stopped you from doing whatever you want before. That’s why you have an eleven year old daughters running around now.” Felix took his brother’s arm and was just about to examine it properly before he spoke. “What the fuck is your problem Dalton? I’m trying to help you here. Why are you always insistent on trying to start a fight?”

     “Just a trade gone wrong, you know how outsiders are. They don’t seem to have the Northern Hospitality we do,” Marissa joked lightly.

“I guess not,” he replied with a small smile. “Are you sure you’re okay though?”

Nari glared at the man before her. “Nasty? It’s nothing but a flesh wound.” It was a nasty flesh wound at that - but she’d had worse. “No, I haven’t. Congratulations on your severely advanced investigational skills. I was on my way to attempt to collect some medical supplies when you stopped me.” Rolled her eyes, she sighed, delicately flipping her hair over her shoulder. It had been only a few days, and being around this many people, albeit scattered around the place, had already started to bother her. “So if you don’t mind,” she added, her voice riddled with sarcasm, “I’ll continue doing just that.”

Felix just rolled his eyes at the girl’s response, though he decided it was best not to retaliate verbally and just gave a small nod when she had finished speaking. “Well good luck with finding them then. This area’s been basically picked clean, you’ll be lucky to find anything of use,,” he said, his eyes still drawn to her injury.

“I’ve seen worse.” The dried blood around her arm flaked off as she brushed it lightly. It still stung, a week later and it still stung. Better than a bite, she reminded herself, better than being infected. “It’ll heal, eventually.”

“Seeing worse doesn’t make that any better,” he commented. Felix didn’t really know why he was so concerned, it wasn’t like it was his problem or anything.

Dalton knew that voice anywhere. Turning, he couldn’t help but sigh. “I put some alcohol on it, but my hands were shaking too much to actually stitch it up. Why? Are you offering?”

“Depends. Will you put another bullet in me if I come too close?” He asked, his voice almost bitter as he spoke. But then, Felix let out a sigh. No one else was going to help Dalton so it was going to have to be him that did it. “Come here. I’ll sort you out.”

“I was too…” She countered, but it was growing steadily apparent that no amount of determination could make her arm suddenly bend in impossible ways. “Alright…” she acquiesced, “but do anything other than help and I promise you’ll regret it.” Though Stella was neither the threatening nor violent type, she meant what she said.

“Yeah? Then you’ll know that you’re going to end up doing more harm than good if you keep trying to do that yourself,” he said. He tried his best not to come across as condescending but he wasn’t sure whether he was doing a very good job of it or not. Felix walked over to her and pulled out the small medkit from his bad that he carried with him. “So, can I ask what happened?”
