‘’You didn’t — what?’’ keep her focused; even if it was difficult — for both parties. Finger’s snatched at the spare bottles scattered across the floor ; eyes squinting, recognising and connecting names and medical terminology to what she KNOWS ( what she knew — she tells herself she doesn’t truly know anything; she never graduated. WASTED SKILLS. ) the clatter of bottles, the rattle of pills as she scatters them in agitation before picking up another. She had never been tempted to that side of addictive substances. Alcoholism? plenty of times ; every night if she didn’t have such self control when it came to giving herself what she wanted. Drugs? she had never even been curious.
‘’Look, I’m all for having a good time —’’ H E L L, people deserved it nowadays if they wanted it. People wanted comfort ; in any shape or form. ‘’— but this is stupid. ’’ floating to the clouds when any person could come in? maybe she checked, maybe she had thought it to be safe — but Briar had gotten in. And now she certainly wasn’t going to leave the girl here by herself, not when she was so disoriented. Not when she couldn’t even form sentences. ‘’Are you trying to get yourself killed?’’
In her teen years going into adulthood, Ava lacked responsibility. She’d dropped out of school when she was a freshman, and partying became more of a habit than eating back in the day. Staying up late and trying new things ---- from drugs to sex to alcohol ---- there was always something to regret in the morning. Quite frankly, when she’d decided to experiment now, she was hoping there would be no morning for regret to take place. But much to her misfortune it wasn’t a walker who’d stumbled upon her. It wasn’t a rogue who enjoyed picking off the living for the sport of it. It wasn’t a threat, a danger to her life, and she didn’t take enough of the mix to get the job done either. Instead, she was granted a miracle, another survivor who wasn’t about to rob her blind or leave her to the hungry dead. What shitty luck. Letting out a low groan, she let her head rest back against the wall she’d been propped up against, the brunette closed her eyes tight, wanting nothing more than the sensation she was experiencing to be done and over with.
“ I’m not doing this until you move back, ” Jake stated dryly; standing upright after a pause & he turns to watch his opposite over his shoulder until they comply. He’s NOT used to experimenting with another present & he may or may not be a little nervous. Grehn knows the two possible outcomes, though — either something happens or… nothing happens. Always repercussions, though. Always unforeseeable outcomes when it comes to s c i e n c e & he won’t have a survivor caught in the crossfire.
A steady hand as he’s focused back on the slain creature; tight pinch on the second alligator clip as he stretches the connection from the car battery across & s l o w l y moves it towards its mouth. The body is STIFF, motionless; a HOLE in its head, wasted by another. He wouldn’t dare if he didn’t know for sure. Still, this is tricky — a d e l i c a t e procedure considering the voltage he’s playing around with… but he’s calm, he’s ‘ collected ’. Slow but not s l o w enough; an instant SPARK once he’s secured the clasp in rotted flesh & he cowers back. A gust of smoke emits from inside its mouth as the electricity is passed through each clip & the unconscious body convulses to the SURGE pulsing through it.
“ Shit! ” An outstretched arm automatic as he creates a GREAT distance between himself & the corpse back to the nearest cover — but he makes it a point not to come into contact with the other survivor even in it all. What are the chances of reanimation? It crosses his mind. To reanimate the reanimated… no, absurd. The brain’s destroyed. He’s more concerned with the body EXPLODING.
Instead of asking what in the Hell he was doing like any inquiring mind would, Ava Graham, the fearless survivor who was not known to back down in any situation, who was known to be stubborn and rarely did as others requested, Ava Graham took a few steps back. She watched the madness unfold before her, and quite honestly couldn’t help but think to herself what kind of twisted shit had to be going through this kid’s mind for him to come up with this.
Before she knew it, uncontrollable sparks emitted from the corpse, and her opposite was scurrying back which only caused her to make her way backwards a little more ---- creating a distance between both the firework of a corpse and the maniac who caused this. “Jesus Christ!” She uttered, arm instinctively coming up to protect her vision. Last thing she needed was to go blind in a world gone to shit. Consider her done for if she had to rely on her other senses. As much as she wanted to ask what he was trying to prove with all of this, the survivor simply stood back and watched. It was all she could really do until she made sense of it... or until the one before her elaborated.
“Did you know the view from the apartment across the way is impossibly beautiful? Not that I’m questioning your choice, I’m sure you’ve made a wonderful choice. It’s very homey in here, lived in, but in a good way.” Charlant rambled as he ran his finger over the peeling paint on the door frame. He had minor breakdowns from time to time and they presented themselves in a sort of delirious fashion. Everything was the most amazing thing he’d ever seen and nothing and no one could tell him otherwise. Not that he had many people trying to talk him down from his manic state, instead he just strolled along bobbing his head along to music that was playing only for him. The blonde invited himself in and moved to sit in front of the woman, head cocked to the side, grin still beaming. “Are you having a nice day? No no no… Are you having an extraordinary day?”
The face before her echoed a voice that she wasn’t familiar with, though in her current state of mind even she could comprehend it was better than the moaning of the undead. It was much too upbeat to be a threat. She’d dabbled in all sorts of drugs before the world went to shit, and perhaps it was her experience in being completely and utterly annihilated that kept her from having a complete breakdown, or just plain offing herself. As her opposite inquired of her day, however, Ava simply let out a small chuckle, flashing back to a world that was less... well, filled with walking, rotting corpses. Back in Chicago, in some run down apartment filled with four or five other lowlifes like herself. Windows blacked out, no, they never did care much about the view.
Is there anything that you would change about your life–whether it is a previous mistake or an invention you'd like to be made? (it cannot be to get rid of blackdeath or find its cure.)
“I could easily say, how I wish my dear mother was not slaughtered. I wish the sight of hate and fear was not her last, but to dwell on such things would not be in good health."
What other evils will the gods bestow on us?
“That is not for me to tell, though it would be most foolish to seek out those evils. Curiosity can be a dangerous thing.”
What is your biggest regret and why?
“I’ve none. For if it weren’t for my mistakes, perhaps things would not be the way they are, and I am content with how things are...”
Is there anyone you can't live without?
“I fear my pulse would go on even in my loneliest hours, but I feel I would shake the Earth if this world were to lose the great pirate known as Jakue Griem.”
( @jakexgrehn )
Why have we angered the Gods?
“Look around, dear child, and you will see. Who is being cleansed of this world? The good, the horrid, and who is left? I see suffering, lessons, but I am no messenger to the Gods. But it is my belief that we’ve been cursed with this not for the sake of senseless tragedy, but for our wrong doings as a whole."
if you could hex anyone in cheyenne who would it be and why
“To hex is not a hobby of mine, but I am often tested by the foolish travelers, brave or dim. The young maiden Aurora, or the daring Brise, though perhaps I’ve done enough to better their understanding of the powers of this world… perhaps they will be more wary of their actions from now on.”
( @rorydamiani , @bricrse )
I hear you're responsible for this whole plague. Care to comment?
“I cannot take the credit for the work of angry Gods. It is their doing, and theirs alone."
