I am not a lawyer, but I can decently interpret legalese and, being as I also suffer from tl;dr syndrome and assume others may as well, I took one for the team and went through the updated TOS for the post+ accounts and highlighted (what I understand to be) the most pertinent information, which ultimately comes down to this:
You cannot monetize copyrighted works (aka charge and earn money from fanfic, fanworks, etc) and if you do decide to put your fanworks behind a paywall via Tumblr, when you are inevitably sued, Tumblr will not protect you and will not defend you and you alone, personally, will be responsible for whatever monetary damages said lawsuit results in.
If anyone is a lawyer and knows I’ve gotten any of this wrong, please do not hesitate to correct me/this post.

1. Your paid account will not be hosted by tumblr; it is routed through a 3rd party.
2. By signing up for a paid account, you’re entering into an agreement with Stripe, so in addition to Tumblr’s TOS, you are also bound to Stripe’s TOS.
3. Stripe, like Tumblr, will not defend you or protect you against any lawsuits.
4. Furthermore, you may end up owing Stripe money (indemnify = compensate)
5. Tumblr’s TOS specifically states that you can’t put any content on your post+ account that violates any laws, including laws that protect intellectual property rights of others. This is super important, because Tumblr’s post+ FAQ also states that you can post anything that you would regularly post on tumblr, which I’m sure many will take to mean that gifsets, fanworks, etc are fair game, since all of that stuff can be posted on tumblr now. However, the difference is, you’re not making money from the fanworks you’re posting or reblogging now. Once money enters the equation, the game changes.
Tumblr is making it seem like any and all content goes for post+ accounts, knowing 90% of this site is fanworks. This is not true and you’ll be opening yourself up for lawsuits if you charge for fanworks.
6. Tumblr further disclaims any and all liability in any legal issues.
tl;dr: Please do not make a post+ account, bc you will be opening yourself to lawsuits and if that happens, Tumblr’s response will be not our problem, you agreed to all the terms which said you couldn’t do that, sorry not sorry. Please protect yourself.
If you're a fanfiction author and you haven't done this already, start backing up all of your fics on a Google Drive.
When Post+ goes live (it will despite the backlash - Tumblr is owned by Automattic who also owns WordPress), it's going to be mass purge of fandom accounts.
You've probably already seen the posts going around stating that if you make fanworks, you legally cannot monetize (EDIT 2: APPARENTLY THIS IS FALSE. EXPLAINED HERE. Check sources and come to your own conclusions. I've been getting messages with different takes on this). As soon as the idiots at Automattic realize this (EDIT: actually, they definitely know this), they're going to purge fan creators. Why? Because they're also going to be dealing with lawsuits, not just the creators.
And they can write out all of the rules and terms and warnings they want before a user signs up for Post+, but that isn't gonna stop all of the fandom babies from Wattpad coming in thinking they can make money off of writing fanfiction. So the solution? Shadow banning all people who create for fandoms, driving us into a dark corner, and ultimately kicking us off the platform so it can bring in more outsiders and normies, therefore becoming more appealing to investors and advertisers.
I implore you, please read up on the history of fandoms and the great purges of fan content here and try to tell me that's not where we're headed.
(EDIT 3: What I'm trying to say is, I'm pretty sure that the big men up top want us gone so they can try to make this site profitable. Back your works up. Let your voice be heard. Know your roots as a fan. All hail AO3.)

"if you were a gummy bear, you'd be a blue one." you pick up a blue bear, placing it near jisung's face. squinting an eye, you nod immediately before shoving it into your mouth, "yep, definitely a blue one."
jisung looks at you with a confused expression as you chew on the sugary treat, "why?" he asks, pulling a gummy from the bag that sat in your hands, "why not a yellow one?" he stares at the yellow candy before presenting it to you.
"it's simple," you say, setting the bag to the side and turning to face jisung, "i hate the yellow ones and i love the blue ones." your hands sink into the sofa cushion as you lean towards jisung with a smile plastered on your face.
jisung looks away from you, his eyes focusing on the yellow gummy bear placed between his fingers, "that's mean towards yellow gummies, though." he chuckles, placing it into his mouth, savoring the pineapple flavor.
you scrunch your nose, sitting up straight, "ew, you like that flavor?" you pretend to gag, pulling out a red gummy bear, "look," you tap his shoulder, "a red gummy bear is equal to someone like..." you pause, trying to think of someone, "changbin!" you exclaim.
"and why's that?" jisung asks another question.
"because i like him." you reply.
"no. he should be a yellow bear." he defends, taking you by surprise as he snatches the red colored bear and shoves it into his mouth. he reaches into the bag and pulls out a yellow gummy, "you don't like changbin, so he's a yellow bear."
you giggle, "are you jealous?" you tease, scooting closer towards jisung.
he scoffs, looking away, "jealous? why would i be jealous of changbin? he only has broad shoulders, big arms, nice thighs, a sexy jawline, a strong voice, money-" jisung's voice become muffled as you shove something into his mouth.
"shut up, ji. you're all i want," you roll your eyes playfully before digging around in the bag of gummies, "did i eat all the blue ones?" you furrow your eyebrows.
your head turns to face jisung, "baby, open your mouth." jisung follows your directions and you gasp, "i gave it to you! jisung, let me have it!"
jisung shakes his head, "no, i actually like this one, y/n." he sucks on the candy, "if you want it, come get it." he tests you.
"it's already in your mouth." you pout.
jisung puckers his lips, "i'll give it to you if you kiss me."
"ew, babe, that's gross." you give him a disgusted look, "i'll just eat a different one."
"wait, just imagine how hot it would be if we madeout and the gummy bear ended up in your mouth." his eyes light up as you stare at him in disbelief.
"no." you say, "i love you, but that's disgusting."
"please, baby, let's try it!" he grabs your hand.
you shake your head, "no, jisung. i'll just eat the leftover yellow ones." you sigh.
"but you don't like those."
"you're right... ok, jisung," you sigh, turning to face him, "give me that gummy."
Wrote this a long time ago, wanted to turn it into a full story, ended up just leaving it like this to avoid accidentally romanticizing certain triggers. This contains no triggers, and it’s the part I’m most proud of, anyway. I hope you enjoy, and please reblog if you did :)

If Jisung were any other person, he might enjoy coming to this party tonight. It doesn’t look like it’ll get too out of hand, given it’s at Chan’s place, and the drinks are... acceptable. Unless Minho starts mixing them.
That’s when everyone has to start worrying, because Minho does not have a soul.
But Jisung isn’t any person, so it’s only at the literal forcing of his roommate, Felix, that he’s standing at Chan’s doorstep, knocking on the door while Felix giggles to his soulmate just behind him. Lucky bastard - all they had were matching tattoos on the sides of their necks. A little painful when they formed, but nothing more than that.
Jisung looks down at the thin gloves over his hands, the ones he never takes off in public if he can help it. A bit of temporary pain is preferable to seeing everyone else’s worst memory with a brush of his fingertips.
Chan opens the door before Jisung can spiral further, greeting them with a wide smile. He doesn’t ask Jisung if he wants to remove his gloves, only giving his hands a sympathetic glance as he ushers them into the the small living room. Already people are there and already Jisung feels claustrophobic, so he peels off into the kitchen, where thankfully only Seungmin and Jeongin are present.
The night passes. Jisung refuses one of Minho’s concoctions, dances a little, drinks a bit more, all the while keeping the gloves tightly on his fingers until someone spills their drink all over him and he goes to the bathroom to wash his hands.
The bathroom is bright, too bright, especially compared to the dark lighting of the party he left behind. He washes his hands and rinses off the gloves too, grimacing as he squeezes out as much excess water as he can. Wet gloves suck, but better anything than accidentally touching someone with his tainted hands -
Jisung stares at the pale skin of his fingers, the lines criss-crossing his palms. They don’t look harmful. They just look like hands. Normal hands, like Felix’s. Just maybe a little bigger.
And yet these hands hold his soulmate link, one of the most torturous Jisung has ever known to exist.
Just behind him, the door opens. Jisung spins around in surprise - didn’t he lock it? - to see you, staring back in equal confusion.
“Oh my -” You back away, hands up. “I’m so sorry. I - the door was unlocked -”
“I thought I locked it,” Jisung mumbles, cheeks burning. “Sorry, I’m done. I’ll get out of here.”
He picks up the still wet gloves, ready to pull them over his fingers as he brushes past. But then someone trips - even later, Jisung won’t be able to tell whether it was you or him - and his bare hand is gripping yours and in a flash, Jisung knows what he’s about to see. A car crash, maybe, or some act of violence splashed across your memory. He closes his eyes against the onslaught -
But it never comes. Instead, sunshine washes across Jisung’s vision, warm and bright on a field of green grass. A small child runs, laughing, as two parents chase them around, smiling with the utmost joy on their faces.
The child turns around, eyes crinkled in a grin. Jisung’s breath catches. It’s you - he can’t ignore the resemblance.
The memory fades away and Jisung blinks his eyes open on the cold floor of the bathroom. Panting gasps fill his ears and he turns around to see you next to him, a hand over your chest as your eyes blink rapidly, a tear rolling down your cheek.
Slowly, as Jisung stares, the pieces begin coming together. He didn’t witness your worst memory - he witnessed your favorite one, a memory of sunshine and childhood bliss. But if he saw your favorite recollection...
You saw his worst.
Jisung swallows hard as you raise your head to meet his eyes. “How did you do it?” you whisper, wiping away the tear. “Oh my God - you’ve been seeing worst memories for all these years?”
“I -” He looks down at your hands, still linked. “What did you see?”
“I... I saw...” You take a deep breath. “I saw when you first saw someone else’s worst memory. Your... father?”
Ah. That was a bad day. Fifteenth birthday, a day that was supposed to be a celebration of adulthood, and what he saw first was his grandma dying of cancer in the hospital, but from his father’s eyes. Fun.
“You see people’s favorite memories,” Jisung says. It isn’t a question.
You nod. “Yeah. I’m just - I’m sorry you had to...” Swallowing, you give him a shaky smile. “If it’s any solace, now that we’ve met, neither of us will be able to see memories again, besides our own. Or so my mother says. She’s a soulmate expert.”
Now that we’ve met? Jisung frowns. Then -
“Oh my God, we’re soulmates.”
You blink. “... Yeah?”
Hysterical laughter bubbles up Jisung’s chest but he swallows it down. Probably best not to act like a maniac in front of someone he’s supposed to spend the rest of his life with. “Sorry. I’m a little slow. Um...”
Silence falls for several seconds until you stick out an uncertain hand. “Y/N L/N,” you say, smiling shakily. “Your soulmate, apparently.”
When Jisung’s hand brushes yours, warm against his, he flinches on autopilot, expecting a horrible memory even though he knows it won’t come. But there’s blessed silence, blessed nothing, and Jisung finds a smile creeping across his trembling lips as he grips your fingers tight between his. God, he hasn’t known what it’s like to touch bare skin with the tips of his fingers for so long.
“Han Jisung,” he says, voice almost cracking with relief. “Thank you for taking away the pain.”

"You’re back.”
Jisung doesn’t startle at the sound of Hyunjin’s voice. It hasn’t changed much since he was last here maybe a hundred years ago. A little deeper, maybe, though that could just be because it’s morning and the water nymph hasn't quite woken up just yet.
He turns around to face Hyunjin. Just like his voice hasn’t changed, his looks haven’t either - still the long flowing hair, the handsome face. Hyunjin’s skin has tanned a little, but that’s all Jisung can see is different. The love for the mute willow has not left his eyes, the willow whose branches still extend of the cool pond, shading it from the rising sun.
A tinge of bitterness coats Jisung’s tongue. It isn’t fair that he fell in love with a mortal, while Hyunjin will have his lover for as long as the forest stays under the protection of a guardian. And Changbin, they all know, will be around for a long time.
But it also isn’t fair that Jisung took Hyunjin’s first love away for nothing other than a prank of spite. So he swallows the bitterness away and nods, trying to smile. “Yeah.”
Hyunjin’s expression doesn’t register pity, only understanding. “Hurt too much?”
How could it not, when all Jisung ever sees in the expanse of the Earth Mother are your eyes, emerald in the grass, verdant in the trees? Everywhere he looks he hears your laugh, sees your smile, feels the phantom warmth of your skin brushing against his hand. If he were to come back here when the grief was still fresh, the forest where you met and made memories and fell in love, Jisung would have broken down.
Now, though, the grief is a dull throb and even if it hurts, Jisung can find it in himself to return to your final resting place, where you asked him to bury you once your mortal life came to an end. He extended it as long as he could - you lived a century longer, at least, than your peers - but in the end, Death came for your soul, and Jisung laid you to rest.
He’s already visited your grave, dug into the old faerie ring where he promised you protection for the rest of your days. The grass is overgrown, the flowers and mushrooms wild with color. It would have made you smile, Jisung thinks, to see the ring grown as the Earth Mother had wanted before it was turned into his prison for centuries.
Remembering the grave makes the pain ring fresh and Jisung winces. “Yeah.”
If Hyunjin is bothered by Jisung’s monosyllabic answers, he doesn’t show it. Instead, he only jerks his head deeper into the forest, a little way past his pond. “The creek is still there, if you haven’t seen it yet.”
You loved the creek when you were alive. It hadn’t formed a consciousness then, the waters slow to manifest a nymph, but you liked to watch the clear water run over the rocks, sparkling in the afternoon sunlight. Jisung, in turn, liked to kiss you then as the sun gleamed over your body, painting a portrait of you that couldn’t possibly be equalled by even the greatest artists in the land.
“Anyone there?” Jisung asks.
“Not yet.” Hyunjin shrugs. “But it’s only a matter of time.”
With that, Jisung walks past the pond, placing a greeting hand on the trunk of the still-sleeping willow at Hyunjin’s side. He feels the nymph’s eyes follow him across the grass until he’s out of sight.
The sound of running water grows louder the closer he gets until Jisung stands at the edge of the creek. Here, he can almost hear your laugh in the splash of water around the rocks, feel your warmth in the sunshine that beams around his figure. It’s a beautiful day and a beautiful sight, and Jisung’s heart aches with the wish that you were here to see it.
But there is no lovely figure standing next to him whose lips he can kiss, no sparkling eyes that will meet his when he holds out a hand to help you cross. There is no lady who will take the step onto the first rock, carefully balancing on the uneven surface before leaping to the next rock, letting Jisung take your space on the first. There is no laugh that will intertwine with his, little squeals at splashes of water that sound like music in his ears.
Jisung stares at the churning water, foam rising around the rocks. From here, he can map out the exact path you two would take to cross the little creek. The smaller rocks have changed, smoothed and eroded or replaced altogether, but the larger ones, the rocks you used as stepping stones, are still there, wet and shiny in the sunlight.
He takes a step to the very edge of the creek. A bit of water splashes onto his feet and he jerks reflexively in surprise, a sound rising from his throat that you would have laughed at, definitely, before kissing his pout away. Jisung can almost feel it, the soft pressure of your mouth against his, your laugh still hanging on your lips.
More water splashes his legs as he steps forward onto the first rock. It doesn’t wobble, stays strong as he carefully places his foot where you would have, clutching tightly onto his hand as you found your balance. There is no one here to hold his hand now, but Jisung manages to balance anyway, wobbling slightly on the water-slick surface for a moment before he can stand.
Another step to the next rock, a short leap from the first. It’s almost as though your hand tugs him forward in the practiced stride. He barely wobbles on the slippery surface as he prepares for the third.
Jisung hops over the path of rocks, pausing at moments to watch the water, to feel it splash over the tops of his feet as it churns its cheerful way downstream. Merry, just like you, clear green eyes sparkling even on rainy days, and as Jisung reaches the last stone, an unconscious smile lifts the corners of his lips.
You’re here, still here. Physically, your body lies beneath the overgrown flowers of his former faerie ring, but the color of your eyes lies in the grass and the leaves, the sound of your laugh in the chirping birds and rushing water. No matter where Jisung goes, he will feel your warmth in the air, your presence by his side, because nothing, not even Death, could break the bond you made so long ago between the trees of this very forest.
The smile is no longer unconscious as Jisung closes his eyes, letting his lips curve as wide as they wish. Sunlight spills on his body from the crown of his head to the tips of his toes and he can feel the warmth of your hand brushing against his as you tug him forward to the other side.
