He wants to hang out as friends and just not date. OMG,
This is hilarious. He told me he didn’t have time to date with work, and then agrees to hang as friends?

Lol
Men are idiots.Â
Sticking to myself right now: running, modeling, working toward my dreams, and getting a core at some damn point.Â
I met a guy that I kind of like, but I don’t want to jinx it.
I also don’t want to get hurt again.
It was J’s birthday yesterday and I texted him “Happy Birthday!” like an idiot in love and he didn’t even say thank you. SMH.Â
Of course, C isn’t talking to me at all either so this is the new normal? I think he’s found someone new.
Whatever, I have a date on Wednesday and a benefit today so I don’t have time to be worrying about this.Â
But, I still am. Especially when I find old TaySwift MV’s like this for the first time. Oops.Â
I’m going out tonight and even if I think about you almost every second I’m going to act like I don’t. Fake it till you make it? #successÂ
Also, P.S. I look hot tonight. You should see it. ;)
xoxo julia
Last night I hugged my new furry pillow and pretended that I was hugging you the way I used to. Not that you were that hairy or anything. But like, sad. Right? Yeah, I thought so too.Â
P.S. Waiting on good news right now. Fingers, toes, et cetera are all crossed.
Can You Put Your Fave Jeans In The Washer and Dryer?
The age old questions for fashionistas and renegade Idaho-bred cowboys alike always boil down to our favorite hues of indigo and light washed denim. Some are about best brands, best wear, authenticity, and coolest looks, but most are about the best way to wear, wash, and dry your jeans with minimal to no wear and tear. Many people in the denim business have very clear stances about how to wash and dry your jeans, but there has been zero definitive answer to the question, "Can you manually dry your denim?"
Since I was born, my mother's take on washing our jeans has been to turn them inside out and hang them up to dry. We also washed them much more often than recommended by denim professionals and connoisseurs.
In college I found it was faster for me to keep them inside out and put them in the dryer. The jeans I bought were generally pretty stretchy, and I didn't see any visible wear and tear. However, after doing some research for this article, I realized the error of my college ways.
It all started with a video of Levi Strauss & Co. CEO Chip Bergh telling Fortune Magazine that you should not wash your jeans. He also happened to be wearing a pair of jeans he had not washed in a year! Famed American designer Tommy Hilfiger agrees; he told TMZ last October that he, "never wash[es his] Levi's" and claimed that, "They'll fall apart. I love them broken in."
While this may seem to be the course of action for people like me who cannot afford unlimited pairs of $300 Paige jeans, it seemed to ludicrous to think that I had been completely mistaken for my entire life of twenty-three years. Additionally, having jeans lose their wash, quality, stretch, et cetera seems to be the main concern here. But, what about personal hygiene people?
Delving deeper into the rules of denim care, I found a few hacks that were supposed to make me feel maybe a little bit better about the total upheaval of my regular jean care? I think? They included dry cleaning, sticking your jeans in the freezer, salt water, vinegar treatments, and dryer sheets in the pockets!
I also even found a select few articles that said it was alright to put jeans in the dryer. Good Housekeeping told me that, "All fabrics and especially jeans benefit when you take them out of the dryer slightly damp. Simply tug and smooth them into shape and let them finish drying flat or on a hanger. If, even after tumbling on low heat and a delicate cycle, you see lots of lint on the dryer's filter, you may want to switch to line drying your jeans to help preserve the fabric."
That sounds like a green light, right? If the moms of America have been washing and drying jeans like this for years, who is right: mothers or denim experts?
The denim experts weighed in with some compelling arguments. As they are people who really understand fabric, it's hard not to side with Chip Bergh and Tommy Hilfiger. Yahoo News went as far as to call the dryer "denim's kryptonite." Oof. Likening dryers to kryptonite did not help my case.
Yahoo News also interviewed the founder of denim repair and reconstruction service Denim Therapy Francine Rabinovich, and she said that most of the requests she gets from clients stem from dryer damage. “The heat of the machine damages the cotton and weakens the fabric,” she said. “You should really be getting two or three years out of an average pair of jeans.”
At this point, it seemed like tumble drying on low was still just not going to cut it. I had to radically change my denim care or I would be the only one to blame for continually wrecking them. The only thing I found somewhat comforting was that I could shrink stretched out jeans a bit to restore them to their original fit. Otherwise, my conclusions seemed somewhat bleak.
And then, I found her. Manrepeller's resident fashion mercenary and founder Leandra Medine says that this argument is moot: "Other aficionados-in-the-making say washing them cold and allowing them to air dry elongates their lifespans while I, I have jeans that I have been wearing for years—some that have been washed at least 100 times and others that haven’t been washed once, ever."
Perhaps whether or not you wash and dry manually, by-hand, or not at all depends on personal preference—much like choosing a low-rise acid washed pair over a high-rise dark wash. Perhaps your jeans are meant to serve you more than you are meant to serve them? It's certainly a more comforting notion for busy women like me. Although, after all of this research, I probably won't be washing and drying my jeans as often now. Smells like freedom? Let's hope so.
Progress In Separation
Lately, I have been distancing myself from my past. It hurts less to think about people and places and moments I once had. It hurts less to love, although I still do. And I can’t help thinking that this has to be progress. I can still love them without it hitting me in the face twelve times a day. I’m already bruised enough without beating myself up.
How can I still be so in love with someone OVER THE PHONE? Like, literally just hearing his voice was giving me endorphins? Is that science? I don’t understand. Did I skip this part in bio?
CAN WE TALK ABOUT HOW KENDRICK REPRESENTED AUSTRALIAN ABORIGINAL PEOPLE WITH THE WHITE DOT AND ORANGE FACE PAINT? WHAT A GENIUS.
Dear people who fight for racial equality and social justice,
I get that we are shooting black people with no cause and are still so freaking racist.Â
I get that we have prejudices against immigrants.
BUT WHAT ABOUT NATIVE AMERICANS? WHAT ABOUT ASIANS? WHAT ABOUT OUR PREJUDICES AGAINST PEOPLE WHO DON’T GET ANY PRESS? WHAT ABOUT THE PEOPLE WHOSE STORIES WE DON’T HEAR?Â
Not to belittle, but if you’re for social and racial justice for some, you should be for ALL.Â
We are all human beings in the end.
This is humanity: flaws and all.
Thanks,
Julia
How do you not miss me? How could you tell me you loved me and not even text me first once in days? How could you do this to me?Â
I don’t want to need you. I’m 2500 miles away and I don’t want to need you, but when night falls so does the darkness within me. The monsters stop hiding under my bed and start hiding in my head.Â
I feel like I have to apologize, because I’m the crazy one. But, love is crazy. You should know that.Â
I am having an extremely frustrating day. It’s one of those days that reminds me how hard this year has been over and over again. I can’t just keep waiting for goodness to happen. I want to make it happen, or else days like this are going to continue to drive me insane.
What I don’t understand is how you can go from being the closest friends in the entire world to not even speaking. Seriously, we talked over the summer and then I got here and STAYED WITH YOU and you were nonverbal. Can someone please explain to me what happened?Â
Like, I’m really sorry your parents are divorcing (seriously I know about that) but I had a ton of awful shit happen too and I didn’t become a total weirdo.
Did I ever tell you guys I had a psychic explain to me last month that I would never be happy unless I had two lovers?
Funny, huh? Really fucking funny.
Some nights I’m depressed because I love you, and some nights I’m PISSED.
My Subconscious is a B-I-T-C-H
I got sad last night and drank a bottle of wine post-gym. I almost drunk texted and decided not to.Â
I eventually fell asleep and had a dream that I was stressing about a huge test that was just hoisted on me by my boy’s best friend.  I was freaking out and running down school hallways in a panicked frenzy. I ran out the door and onto the outside porch of a cabin that was overlooking a bunch of mountains. There was a rocking swing on the porch and my boy was sitting on it with a big Pendleton wool blanket. I plopped down next to him (test in hand), snuggled under the blanket, put my head on his shoulder, and closed my eyes.Â
AND THEN BOOM I WOKE UPÂ
AND WAS SO FUCKING SAD
AND PISSED AT ME
