So we got a rich oppressive man in power (James 5) who is non-denominational (no judgement here just yet) and can't name a single Bible verse (Proverbs 13:13) leading an army of people who oppress minorities (James 2:9) and immigrants (Deuteronomy 24:17), raiding churches (no Bible verse for this but I don't think it's unreasonable to say respect the space of worship) and murdering innocent people (Deuteronomy 27:25)?

Hello, I usually don’t do this but one of my church members is working at the border currently helping immigrants who have been affected by the terror that ICE has caused. He has been helping people in a border town who were dropped off with nothing and have nowhere to go.

He is working with a shelter called RespetTrans, and it is the ONLY shelter in town that allows trans migrants in the shelter.

The government has called this shelter a ‘den of sin’ and is ACTIVELY trying to get it to close down. They recently had an air conditioner break and they have 1 month to fix it before the government shuts them down.

So I’m asking you to help both the trans and migrant community in one swoop. The air conditioner is about 5000 dollars, but honestly I hope they can get more than that. I would love if this shelter could have some safety funds for the future.

I know 5000 seems like a lot but if a 1000 people donated just 5 dollars then they would meet their goal. Which to me seems within reach! If you can’t donate please reblog.

To me, life is about constantly becoming. Growing, developing. God didn’t put me on earth to be stagnant. He put me here to become the person I am meant to be. So for someone to say to me “God created you female and you have to accept that and adopt a female role in church and society”? That doesn’t fly. I am working out my salvation in fear and trembling. I am becoming the great saint I am destined to be. I am still seed or possibly sprout, but I am not yet the tree, and to deny me the becoming of who I am in regards to gender is just another attempt to stagnate me. Transphobia isn’t just unbiblical, it is the antithesis to what I see as my destiny–to become. This is not to say that cis people do not become, or that for every trans person transness is a major part of their spiritual journey. I am merely speaking of the hypocrisy of someone following a faith that emphasizes sanctification and yet does not allow for people growing into and beyond themselves. It’s absurd.

my faith has been suffering so much from ppl around me irl telling me I’m “rejecting God” or putting myself “in His Place” by being trans I’m tired. I’m tired of worshiping a God many of whose followers think I’m a bad worshiper and beneath them I mean, how do people deal? Possibly by not having a horrible tendency to base their self worth on the opinions of loved ones? But that’s so difficult for me. :(

I separate the anti-humanity sentiment from my own faith. My faith in The Lord is too powerful to be touched by hateful people who have never considered Ephisians 4:31-32, to let go of all bitterness, rage, and slander. They are not fulfilling the will of God, for their weaponize His word for their own agendas.
