I mean... I don't think Rolling Stone Magazine would run an article like that, risking pissing off Taylor's team and making it difficult for them to work with her in the future. And I kind of believe she wanted to come out in the Lover's era, but chicken out after the YNTCD backlash. So, maybe she approved this article to see the reaction her fan base would have.

After some convincing, Lena accepts, but warns that she refuses to marry a stranger for publicity. Cat sees the new edition of the Bachelorette as the perfect opportunity to see behind the curtains of the youngest Luthor and sends Kara undercover as a contestant to write an article about Lena.

Song lines Taylor regrets

According to this article on Justjared, Taylor regrets this line:

“So go and tell all your friends that I’m obsessive and crazy / That’s fine, I’ll tell mine / You’re gay, by the way.” from “Picture to Burn”

If you look at it from a heterosexual perspective, it is quite homophobic. But if you see it from a Gaylor perspective, it is a clear "beard gone wrong" situation.

you're one in a million (Miss Congeniality AU CHAPTER 2)

Where Kara flirts terribly, tackles a Texan, and makes some friends (plus a few frienemies).

“Ladies, this is Kara-Lee Kent. New Jersey,” Lena says calmly, and Kara chuckles.

“Just Kara.”

Lena nods, pointing at the person on Kara’s other side. “This is Nia Nal, California –”

“Hey, girl,” says Nia with a friendly smile. She looks to be the youngest at the table, probably under 25, with a kind face and a mischievous twinkle in her eye. Kara likes her immediately.

“Siobhan Smythe, Alaska,” Lena continues, moving to Nia’s right. Already, Kara likes Siobhan considerably less than Nia. She doesn’t greet Kara but nods silently, sizing her up with a haughty expression. She’s beautiful, of course, but Kara can already tell that she’s far too competitive to be friendly. It’s a strange feeling to be considered a threat by someone so obviously suited to pageantry.

“Sam Arias, New York,” Lena says, indicating the woman across the table from Kara.

“New blood. Nice to meet you,” Sam says with a wink. Lena’s voice is the warmest when introducing her, and Kara finds herself trusting Sam by association.

“And Andrea Rojas, Texas,” Lena finishes, her voice turning quiet and stiff.

“You’re the one who fell on your face,” Andrea says bluntly.

“Now” in the present, they have been together in a romantic sense, as Taylor attests when saying “hang from my lips” and “your boots beneath my bed”.

Forever is the sweetest con

This part may mean two things.

1. Forever is the sweetest con because they are both bandits and defying societal norms by being together forever and “this act of rebellion” is their best con.

OR

2. Forever is the sweetest con as the promise of forever is in itself a con. Even if it feels sweet it is not true.

Full disclosure, I do NOT believe Swiftgron is together now. But I think this lyric implies that something romantic might have happened fairly recent, and somehow supports the idea that “this is the damn season” might not be fictional.
