Mini FAQ
Can I send you prompts? No, because I don't write fic.
Can I ask for fic recs or rec fics to you? Yes, I am very happy to get this (no promises if and when I manage to make a rec, though).
Can I add more fics when I reblog your's or can I reply with more fics? Yes, of course. This is what tumblr is meant for.

What is all this again?
Mission statement: help out people (including myself) who read fic on AO3 and wish they were reading more femslash, but don't know what's out there. Plan: do a week-in-review post every week which contains general stats about new fic and a few recs.
I am starting with the list of all works on ao3.org which were updated within a given week, and which were categorized as F/F, but I am not reporting stats on 100% of those works --- I'm narrowing down to a subset of fandoms and works for which it's tractable for me to actually look at all the character tags, and then I'm excluding ships containing what I believe to be cis-male characters. I'll give overall stats about how many works I've reported on and how many I've excluded. If you think I'm excluding a fandom you care about, please let me know!
More info about column headers:
Fandom (and top three ships): If multiple tags that seem to correspond to the same fandom (e.g. "The 100 (TV)" and "The 100 Series - Kass Morgan") show up in my ranking, I report the one with the best rating. There's totally a judgment call here about what things are "the same fandom" --- I'm going to err on the side of reporting more different things when I can, but I won't skip something with a lot of works which aren't otherwise accounted for. When measuring the top three F/F ships in a fandom, I count both "A/B" and "A & B" as "A,B". Ties are broken by including all of the ships, but I only include a maximum of five ships per fandom to keep the table length reasonable.
Rating for week: This is the number of works I classified as F/F, multiplied by what I call "F/F fidelity", which is the fraction of all works tagged F/F on AO3 that I classified as containing at least one F/F ship.
F/F/ works updated this week: includes both new and continued works.
% of F/F works updated this week: This is the percentage of all F/F works I've ever categorized in the fandom, so a big number probably means a brand new fandom, or at least one which was unusually active this week.
F/F:M/M ratio (all works): This ratio is taken from all works in the fandom tag, and is just a hint to readers about how F/F-dominant the fandom is. Obviously there's no reason you can't find great F/F works in a predominantly male fandom (we've all read those), but the ratio may give a hint about whether the F/F pairing is likely to be the dominant one in a work with multiple pairings. Note that the "F/F" and "M/M" numbers for this column are taken directly from AO3, not from my compiled character and ship stats. (Since I don't categorize M/M works, I couldn't do it any other way.)
Known bugs which affect the accuracy of this data:
AO3 does not modify the "last updated" date of a work in a revealed exchange when the exchange reveals, so my database can miss exchange works entirely if they're last edited awhile before the exchange works are revealed. This probably leads to a serious undercount of works in revealed exchanges.
Share and enjoy, and let me know what I can do to make this more useful.
hi there anon! thanks so much for the prompt … I went with 20 I hope you don’t mind :)
from the touch prompts list - ²⁰⁾ fingertips tracing the notches of a spine
I think I have one more of these left to do…thanks to everyone
----
Notches (Kara and Lena)
----
Thirteen.
The age when others worry about growing too tall, too fast. Kara is learning to stay upright.
Her spine feels overbuilt. Sits too heavy in skin that has forgotten how to hold it, a skeleton built for a world that no longer presses back.
Each vertebra shorter, broader, denser — made for compression that Earth's gentle gravity will never provide.
She stands too rigidly at first.
Moves too clumsily.
The slight forward lean that kept her balanced against Krypton's relentless pull has become a habit her muscles cannot unlearn.
Her muscles ache. The weight is wrong. The air is wrong. The sun is wrong.
The lightness is unbearable. So is the homesickness.
In the morning, she lets water run down her back in rivulets, tracing the widening clefts in her back, pooling in the odd ridges of her joints.
At night, she stretches herself out. Lies flat against the floor, arms drifting overhead, toes pointing toward the opposite wall. She fights the urge to let her shoulders hunch forward, for her body to curve around its own center.
The sun's insistence makes sure it doesn't. Cell by cell, the body she came here with is quietly replaced by one that can survive here.
Her overbuilt framework finds its new function.
She stops thinking of her body as something only temporary.
----
Thirty.
Years of careful habitation.
Her body a collection of reconciliations.
Kara can still feel it sometimes, the sun's invisible hands. On particularly bright days, there is a soft pressure in her body that she catalogs somewhere in her chest the echo of old gravity and old ghosts.
It is a comfort, in its own way. To feel the bones of a lost world quietly insisting on their rightness still, no matter how much this new planet tries to teach them otherwise.
This morning is a slow accumulation of light.
It creeps up the far wall, collecting in rectangles that pool and overlap, thickening toward the bed where Kara lies face down and sprawling across the span of Lena's oversized mattress.
There is a low chronic thrum, as if each cell is being pulled taut, then slowly let go. She breathes into the feeling, lets it spread and settle as Lena's fingers trace the notches of her spine. Each vertebra spaced just slightly wider than human anatomy would allow.
Kara tenses, then relaxes, a low noise escaping from her throat — not quite a groan, not quite a sigh. Lena's fingers find the curve where Kara's neck meets her shoulders.
She thinks of birds. Bones built for flight. Skeletons hollow, delicate, pared down for weightlessness. Kara is the opposite. Mass packed tight and folded small.
Lena presses harder. The muscles along her back flexing.
Shoulder blades spread out under her touch. Wings that never were. Shouldn't be. Yet somehow are.
She lifts her hand, and Kara's spine resettles. Living geometry shaped by the daily practice of existing in a world that demands continuous translation.
Kara shifts, just enough to bring the left side of her face out of the pillow. The air is cool against her cheek, but everywhere else is heat; the sun, the blankets, Lena's body tangled with her own.
Lena measures the width of her shoulders with her hands. Broad for her height. Squared at their edges.
Kara responds to the questions unasked.
"I used to walk into things. When I first came here. Doorframes, mostly. I couldn't judge where my body ended."
Lena imagines it. A thirteen-year-old body learning to exist in a world built for different proportions.
Kara rolls onto her back. Stretches her arms above her head. Lena hears each joint slot into its ordained place. A settling that she has learned to recognize as a kind of daily inventory.
She thinks about the assimilation of her own body. The way she was told to make herself smaller. The way she learned to fold herself inward. She thinks about evolution, about the way living things learn to survive in hostile environments not by becoming something entirely new, but by discovering which parts of themselves are essential and which can be sacrificed.
But change is not always so harsh.
Kara sits up, the sheet caught low around her hips. The room is bright now, golden and indifferent to the intrusion it brings. The call to coffee and breakfast and other ordinary things.
Lena tries to slip away, Kara watches her, precise and methodical even in the awkward tangle of blankets.
Her hand finds Lena's wrist just as her feet are hovering above the floor.
She turns back toward her, arching a brow, spine twisted.
Kara lets her eyes linger, cataloguing every detail.
Her sleep-creased cheek, the neckline of her old t-shirt, the pale curve of her thigh.
She leans toward her. The forward tilt her spine has learned and unlearned and repurposed. Her forehead finds Lena's stomach, pressing into the soft cotton of her sleep shirt. The fabric is cool, the curve of Lena's body warm beneath it.
She stays there, eyes closed, breathing every part of her in.
Lena's hand comes to rest on the back of Kara's head.
"You know I'm just going to the kitchen, right?" Lena says, but her voice is soft, conspiratorial.
Kara hums, not bothering with words. She lets her shoulders relax, her body collapse into the memory of what it means to be anchored to something so essential.
Lena bends slightly, enough to rest her cheek atop Kara's hair.
There is a pause — a vacuum in which anything might happen. Then, quietly, Kara leans in more, just a little further.
The gesture feels like a benediction, some private thing between herself and the universe told in the tilt of her torso. A bow to each force that has shaped her into her current form.
Her spine holds three gravities now. The crushing weight of Krypton, the insufficient lightness of Earth, and this — Lena's pull that asks nothing of her bones but rest.
Rating: Mature (but only about as graphic as the game itself)
Synopsis: Set Mid-Act 3 (so spoilers for the acts beforehand), Karlach and Shadowheart are switched out of party and have the night off together in Baldur's Gate. They make good use of it ;)

Here is my artwork for @ewaliciouss fic Wild, the Paths Less Travelled (clicky link to read, magic) (seriously read it tho it's so good). Fantasy/Adventuring Party AU. She's a good writer you know this.
5 years since the show ended and I only got into the fandom within the last year but it's meant so much to me in this short amount of time. It's helped me get back into drawing and get so much better in a short amount of time.
In a roundabout way it also got me to meet my amazing girlfriend and partner for the big bang @ewaliciouss. It's been so amazing to work with her on the fic and the art and just to know her anyway.
Anyway here the art! Hope everyone's been enjoying the Big Bang!
Adora, a woman of struggling faith, hides her gleaming armor under a ragged cloak. She holds no doubts that the Church of Mara was scanning the streets of Mystacor for her. Their She-Ra had become a runaway, after all.
Clutching her spellbook, Catra dodges through bustling streets. It was all she had left from the place she’d called home for half a decade before ditching. Still, she couldn’t shake the feeling of her headmistress’ presence, nor the shadows that followed.
Stowing away his belongings, Bow tries his best to ignore the stare of the inn’s owner. His sharp mind and sharper aim couldn’t compensate for the sticky fingers of Arxia’s residents. He’s just glad they hadn’t nicked his arm, too.
Hood up and head down, Glimmer stares into the tankard of cheap ale she’s never had the taste for. If anyone around her knew the truth, she’d be halfway back to Brightmoon already. No amount of skill with staff or sorcery could make them forget that her mother, the queen, had passed recently.
In a few minutes, all these lives will crash together, and, despite their differences, they will find that they might just be better off together.
Paths less travelled tend to be dangerous when alone, after all.
A gif set of Lena saying “I know flying is statistically the safest way to travel” followed by gifs of every time she’s almost died while using air travel
I am a normal person who understands thought crimes are not real, fiction is not reality, and people can read/write/enjoy whatever they want as long as it’s fiction and no one in real life is harmed. I don’t have to like it, because I know how to mute, block and scroll past what I don’t want to see. Overall I think labels are childish, but by definition I am proship and profic. I am also against censorship.
And if you (general you) shame or harass real people over fiction, you’re a bully and this blog is not a safe place for you.
