I made another blog… Just a self promo… you know. It’s stuart Alan Jones from the original UK version of Queer as Folk. You guys should totally follow because I’m dying for some interaction.

Death would have been a fitting punishment for all he’d done-- Instead he got this clearer thinking. The real cruelty would be to send him back into what had been before. But he hadn’t died. He hadn’t died then, and he’d realized that he wouldn’t die in the future.
“I had a feeling.”

“So if it’s not instantaneous, how long does it take? ‘Cause this one time I was dead for, like, a day, and nothing happened.” Maybe this mystical after life didn’t want her. Or, maybe she was right, and it didn’t exist.
“It is different for all mortals, but you, Claire Bennet, do not fall into this category.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?” There was something odd about this man, but Claire couldn’t figure him out. “Who are you?”
‘What’ would have been rude. She hated when people asked her ‘what’ she was.
“My name is Castiel. I’m an angel of the Lord.”
It was out now, and he waited, staring at her intently, observing her reaction.
“Aw, do you really need little old me on your side that badly?”
“It is not a matter of need. More so convenience. Do not forget, I will slay you if you step out of line.”
“Yeah I’m feeling as ‘okay’ as I’ll ever be” he replied, a smile spreading across his face as he mimicked the same air quotes.
“It is foolish to lie to an angel.”

The human year: 1849.
No longer hairless apes, as his brothers and sisters would jest.
Castiel stared into a woman’s aged eyes: Angelica Morales. It was the end for her, and she had seen more than most. Still... nothing in comparison.
Her mouth twitched as she attempted a smile. She could sense the greater power, and had accepted her fate. A tear rolled down her weathered cheek regardless and it’s meaning escaped him.
Castiel reached out with two fingers-- slowly --and tapped the center of her forehead. Angelica closed her eyes.
Elle had, had to lie a lot in her life. Still, like all–or most, she preferred the truth.
“It’s fine, just unexpected.” She pulled into the curb of the ice cream shop.
“I just have one question: If you’re an angel,” Well he was an angel. “Why were you in a mental hospital?”
Oh. That question.
Castiel craned his neck back and stared at the ceiling of the compact vehicle that was his mean of transportation. (Flight would forever be his preferred method.)
“A friend of mine. He was suffering a severe psychological issue... It was my fault, and a pragmatic solution. I... lifted the madness from his mind. Letting him die would have been... impractical. It would have killed him. ”

“Since Lucifer started using them as sacrifices. Self preservation and all. It still isn’t a lot, but it’s significant.”
She watched Dean closely, taking in the deathly stare look he fixed on her. She raised an eyebrow.
“Plus, there’s always me. You’re down an angel and I might not exactly a cloud hopper, but I’ve got a few tricks.” She looked at Castiel, briefly.
“Yes or no, Dean. It’s simple…I’ll be on my way and you’ll never see me again. If that is what you wish.”
Dean glanced back at Castiel once more. He shrugged in return. “Her grace is undeniable.” The sudden burst of power was still coursing through his veins.
But Grace was wrong. It was never that simple, not anymore. Cas knew Dean well enough-- There had been another story of yes vs. no, and his resolve had buried them in a worse situation.
Castiel would never blame Dean for what happened. Indulging in the angel’s would not have been the right choice, but it was hard to make Dean understand. Ever since the circumstances with Sam changed in their abrupt tragedy. The fate of the world clung to the elder Winchester like some vicious parasite.
Dean continued, “Say I take you up on this little game of quid pro quo. Say our side ends up on top. What happens after?”

Castiel shifted uncomfortably.
“I’ve had centuries of people only caring if they are a good person, if they have a righteous soul, if they are the hero.”
He sighed.
“They protect that self view at all costs. Some of the most evil men only wanted to do what was right.”
Castiel found that this was an honest response. Too many of his own actions had been justified with the very same belief. And before, much, much earlier... He’d followed the black and white orders expected of him.
He turned slightly, facing the human.
“And you? What is it that motivates you?”
