Ok, but like, am I the only one who thinks that bloodbending isn’t bad? I see all of these posts about how brave Katara was to avoid bloodbending and how great of Aang it was to outlaw it and how it reflects poorly on the Zutara dynamic that she bloodbent in front of Zuko but like ???????????

NO bending is inherently bad????

No one gave two shits about airbending being used to suffocate the Earth Queen or Bolin fuckin LAVABENDING, aka able to MELT PEOPLE down to nothing. Those alternative forms of bending aren’t intrinsically bad, even though they COULD be used for evil.

The same technique for suffocating someone with airbending could be used to resuscitate someone who wasn’t breathing. It could be used to help a newborn baby breathe.

Lavabending can be used just as much for environmentally-beneficial reasons as it can for mass destruction.

Hell, even lightning bending was fine in the ATLA and LoK universe, but somehow bloodbending isn’t?

Can you imagine how quickly their healthcare would’ve advanced if Katara had been given the opportunity to use her abilities the way she was meant to? Hama only used them for violence because she spent her whole life trying to SURVIVE. It was all she knew.

Katara is a CARING bender. Her healing bending would’ve gone up 11000000000 points if she had learned to incorporate bloodbending. She could’ve learned how to heal blood illnesses, mend bones, prevent frostbite, mend actual tissue. Katara could’ve invented MODERN SURGERY.

But somehow HER form of alternative bending is the only bad one?

Oh man, I got on this rampant all the damn time.

Can you imagine the good bloodbending could do in the medical field? You could:

keep a heart beating (which could vastly improve future surgeries).

mend tissue back together (as previously stated above).

draw anything damaging from someones bloodstream, be it poison/illness/ect.

relieve damage swelling in any areas of the body (and/or more severe cases such as head trauma).

possibly work to prevent a heart attack.

literally close flesh wounds

The list could literally go on and on. There are so many good things that bloodbending could have been used for. Just like firebending, I so badly wished they could have shown the good behind even the scariest of water bending. For firebending, they showed how it is life and not just destruction; like a tiny heartbeat. For waterbending, bloodbending could have been used in a vastly larger amount of ways than just evil. It could have done so much good.

Slow clap guys. I have always thought it was a mistake to have not explored the possibility of blood-bending in the A:tLA universe. I think Katara’s initial fear of blood-bending is valid and very IC, but you can’t tell me that Katara would have left it at that. She was such an imaginative, ambitions character that even if it took someone being wounded for her to try it -reluctantly- as last ditch effort, she still would have at some point explored what it meant that she could blood-bend. And that ability to heal from something we had only seen as evil up untill that point, would have been a beautiful transformation to watch Katara and the Gaang discover.

Please help my roommate and I stay in our apartment (aka please help us get back on our feet or somewhere cheaper so we’re not couch hopping and losing our jobs)

Alright I’m gonna have a better more simplified status about this tomorrow but I am probably going to be begging for PayPal donations so I and my roommate can have a place to live and not be homeless come July due to both being too poor to have savings

Long story short is no other job will hire me as a near college graduate with no car, and my current one keeps finding ways to cut me hours and keep me at about $400 a month, and anyplace to rent out cheaper or not is always deposit and first month’s rent, which I don’t have the cash for or can save for in that amount of time

Why is this a problem? My rent is going up since I’m losing two roommates in June and will be $500 minimum minus the couple utilities I have to pay I have no car, I don’t have much disposable income that isn’t budgeted to food already, and same goes for my roommate who’s trying to stay so we can both keep what little jobs we have because even moving into a friends to do so compromises them in their small spaces and moving back a half hour with any family devious me of getting a way to work

I’m also highly unsure of getting another roommate or two in at least on short notice but I’m working on it here for sure during my spring break and I am going to look no doubt, and I have been looking for a second job but I’ve been fruitless on my endeavors because no one wants to hire a college student no matter how close they are to being done, I’m I’m going to have those bills to pay much sooner than later

Hey everyone, I’m the other roommate in this situation. We’re having a rough time trying to figure out what to do or where we might have to go if we can’t find someone else to live with us. I’ve been finding other apartment possibilities and saving the listings. We’re going to make flyers to try to find a third roommate. We’re talking to a few friends tonight about the situation, though I’m not sure how that could possibly go since they’re also in stressful awful mess. When it comes to funds, I work two jobs. So I’m a little more stable. But I can’t afford both of us. If I could, we’d be less worried. I’d be more strapped for cash if we don’t get this solved in the next couple of months, but I’ll survive. But Jasmine’s been having a really difficult time finding another job and it’s not for lack of trying. She’s put in application after application. A waiter at a Southern California restaurant has been fired after asking a group of Latina women to provide “proof of residency” before taking their drink order, the Washington Post reported Sunday.

On March 11, Diana Carrillo visited Saint Marc restaurant in Huntington Beach, California, with her sister and two friends.

Let me tell you what happened to me an hour ago:

So I’m at the bus terminal and this guy (who’d been following me and hovering over me for 10 minutes) comes up to me and says “hey beautiful. Can I talk to you?” So I said “no thank you.” He goes “I just want to speak to you, though.” And I said “yeah I know that and I’m not interested in talking to a strange man at a bus terminal. Please leave me alone.” So he stands there watching me. Finally he says “listen, there’s no need to be difficult. I approached you politely like a gentleman so I don’t see why you’re saying no. Now just let me speak to you.” I said “nobody’s being difficult my guy. You asked a question, I gave an answer so we’re done.” Then he says “yeah but the answer you gave me made no sense. Why don’t you want to talk to me? You don’t know what kind of person I am. You’re judging me before you know me. You’re being ignorant and prejudiced so”- Just then this other guy who’d been sitting close to me said “my nigga shut the fuck up! I saw you following her and stalking her like a fucking animal or some shit, like you didn’t think she didn’t notice? She’s probably scared of your predatory ass and I don’t blame her. Mans need to understand you don’t follow girls and shit. That shits corny.” So the guy goes “yo, mind your fucking business.” And the other dude says “nah because I see you harassing this girl and as a man this becomes my business. You thinking you were polite doesn’t mean a girl has to speak to you. Be nice because you’re nice, don’t use that please and thank you shit and think somebody has to speak to you. You’re not a “gentleman if you don’t respect her. Take the L and go catch your bus you fucking creep.” So the guy starts swearing and then walks away. The guy who’d defended me is like “you okay tho? Like real talk I don’t really like men because of shit like that. They’re fucking predators man. I do what I can when I’m able to for women because you don’t deserve to be hunted.”
